Little Shop of Horrors
Little Shop of Horrors
It’s alive…somewhere that’s green!
Starring Busted's Matt Willis and American drag queen Vicky Vox, Little Shop of Horrors is playing at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre this August!
For the misfits who live on Skid Row, life is nothing more than a series of broken dreams and dead ends. But there may be hope on the horizon for Seymour, a lowly flower shop assistant, when he discovers a mysterious new plant with killer potential.
Could Seymour’s sudden fame and fortune possibly win the attention of kind, sweet, delicate Audrey – at last? Can he finally break free of Skid Row and be happy…whatever the consequences?
Based on the film by Roger Corman and Charles Griffith, Little Shop of Horrors features music by Alan Menken and a book and lyrics by Howard Ashman.

WEATHER
Every theatre performance is unique, but this is especially the case at the Open Air Theatre where both the stage and entire auditorium are uncovered.
Each visit can be distinctly different as the weather and light spontaneously interact with the play. Warm or cool, clear or overcast, the point at which dusk turns to night, being outdoors adds a thrilling contribution to our work and is an integral part of your experience here. Some of our audience's favourite memories have been of the sun breaking through the clouds during the show whilst some of the most electric performances happen in the wake of rainfall.
It's best to come prepared for all types of weather: bringing your own shade in the afternoon is particularly important as is a jumper for the end of evening performances. So sun hats, sun cream, sunglasses, raincoats and rain hats should all be considered. Although the vast majority of performances are completed each year, as the auditorium and stage are completely uncovered, we may have to stop and re-start the show.
On rare occasions, it will not be possible for us to complete the performance, but we will never cancel a performance before the advertised start time. This is because you would be amazed how often it can rain all day and then clear up just in time for the action to start and indeed, how localised bad weather can be. Also we really don't want to disappoint anyone - audiences or our actors (who are always keen to perform, if at all possible).
Please note that films and one-off live music and comedy shows are never cancelled because of the weather.
Tickets may only be exchanged or refunded in the case of a cancelled show. However, refunds are not given for cancellation or abandonment of a show as a result of the weather.
Exchanging tickets for weather-related cancellation:
If a show is cancelled or abandoned because of the weather, you will be entitled to exchange your ticket for seats available with the nearest value to your original ticket (rounded-up) at any other show at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in our main theatre repertoire (excluding films and one-off live music and comedy shows which are never cancelled because of the weather), subject to availability. There is no time limit on exchanging tickets in this way.

It was a splendid show with an excellent set depicting the New York sky line, superb action, singing and dancing and a very amusing plot well acted. When I ordered tickets there was a warning about exposure to any weather and it was a hot evening.

Show stop after the first number ... overall the show was fantastic . I must say though the stage management team & crew were fantastic. The calm and collected stage manager and his announcements were very commendable and bravo to his team who cracked on with covering the set and then drying the stage so well before the show continued. Just wanted them to have a good review because I was very impressed.

This was the best show/musical I have seen for years. I'm not normally the first on my feet at the end of the show, but this time, I jumped up before the final note for a truly deserved standing ovation. The whole show was amazing, from the musical score with the additional elements, the magnificent staging, the superb cast ( each and every one of the them was stunning) to the simply beautiful venue. If I could, I get tickets to see it again tonight. What a joy.

It was a great experience to see Little Shop live, with the original ending, in such a beautiful setting. Thankfully it didn’t rain! The cast are all exceptionally chosen and the staging is a delight. I particularly enjoyed the final two numbers, where huge green balls were released into the crowd and the company all appeared in hilarious plant outfits, dancing wildly. Overall a fantastic experience and a show that I would highly recommend for anyone.

This show was legit one of the best shows i’ve Ever seen, I just can’t get over it. The cast played the characters brilliantly and I had a smile on my face the whole time. I also got to meet some of the cast afterwards and the were all so nice. If you want to see any play this summer it should be this one. Absolutely brilliant

I would give it 10 stars if I could . How refreshing to see something that’s fun , professional and a brilliant take on the original . Not same old ..... The Best show I’ve seen for a very long time . It should be taken to the west end after . However the open air theatre is as magical setting as ever 💛

A whole world of camp ridiculousness. Wonderful costume and design. Great musicians. Special mention for Seymour, the dentist and Audrey 2..great voices and acting. Very very special mention for the three lady chorus who displayed deep talent in their dancing and singing. Ensemble were excellent as well. A very tight show!

This was the best production I have seen yet at RPT. Brilliant production, stage, costumes, choreographies and performance. Only Audrey's voice let it down a little, but more than outweighed by the amazing Audrey II !!

I saw an advert for this a few weeks ago and having loved the film when it came out i thought i really wanted to see this. I didn't realise it was an outdoor theatre initially, and it was only when i booked it that i knew there was one in London. We went last night, Friday 17th and i have to say we were both blown away. What a performance, the voices were great and the acoustics fantastic. Matt Willis was hilarious in Steve Martin's character and the whole show put a huge smile on my face. I highly recommend this show and the venue too, I'd never realised it was there! Fantastic fun

We loved the “Little Shop”. Right from the opening scene. We were entertained by the singing, choreography, sets, costumes, and the overall zaniness of the production. The pantomime feel of the show, including a dame/flower was thoroughly enjoyable. Go see it!

What an amazing show! An absolute must-see. So much passion and energy. Great set/scenery. Clever use of props. Outstanding voices. Venue is great, my first experience of an open air theatre, but I could have been anywhere - I was totally lost in the performance. Big credits to Audrey 2 and Orin. Amazing!

Little shop of Horrors is one of my favourite films and I have to say I was worried about how it would work on stage (plant specifically). I was so so so impressed. I thought the stage production was brilliant. I couldn’t believe that there were new songs that actually worked very well in such a tightly excellent soundtrack(my favourite of all time). The concept of having Audrey 2 as Vicky vox was completely inspired. Even down to the collapsible frame that gobbled people up.And Matt Willis had big Steve Martin shaped shoes to fill and he surprised us by making the role his own and excelling. He was fantastic. The end, that is different to the film, actually worked very well and was well executed. I went with my 60 year old mother and my 6 year old son and we all had such an amazing time. My son actually hadn’t made it through the film because he found it too scary but was singing the songs all the way home from the theatre. I have been to many theatre productions and I have to say I think it may be my favourite. I want to go again!!!!

I loved every second of this production. I felt every member of the cast played a key part and did so with such enthusiasm it was impossible to not get carried along with it. Loved the portrayal of Audrey II. I wasn't expecting that as I'd only seen animatronics before. I wish the feel good factor this show produced could be bottled and a spoonful administered through the dreary days. FUN, FUN, FUN and more fun!!! Thank you for the joy.

We attended the 2nd preview night and it was amazing! A different take on the traditional show with great one liners thrown in! A great cast who gelled together well and coupled with great voices this made a great show. Highly recommended show and also well done to the Open Air Theatre crew for making it a memorable evening for all the right reasons.
