No's Knife
No's Knife
A world première, No’s Knife brings literary genius Samuel Beckett’s exploration of life and living to London’s West End.
A giant of the theatre and a leading member of the literary avant-garde, Samuel Beckett was an Irishman who lived most of his adult life in Paris. His many plays, including Waiting for Godot, Happy Days and Krapp’s Last Tape, changed the face of modern theatre. No’s Knife is a live show of Beckett’s previously unperformed writings taken from his Texts for Nothing, a collection of short stories dealing with displacement and the unknown. Digging deep into the void, No’s Knife examines Beckett’s thoughts on the resilience required to remain alive after one’s dreams and love for life fade.
This brand new production is performed by Lisa Dwan following her sell-out global tour of the Beckett Trilogy. Dwan is widely acknowledged to be the leading interpreter of Beckett’s work and here she brings insight and vigour to Beckett’s captivating vision.

This performance inspired frustration because the stream of words made no conventional sense and it inspired boredom and a desire for the experience to end. But under this, the profound expression of the paradox of being a human being in the universe and the severe limitation of words The performance by the actor was beyond description. I want to see it again... Please produce a dvd
