Noises Off
Noises Off
After a triumphant run in the West End earlier this year, Felicity Kendal, Jonathan Coy and Alexander Hanson return in one of the greatest comedies ever written, Noises Off.
Michael Frayn’s celebrated play serves up a riotous double bill – a play within a play.
Hurtling along at breakneck speed, Noises Off follows the on and offstage antics of a touring theatre company as they stumble their way through the fictional farce, Nothing On. From the shambolic final rehearsals before the opening night in Weston-Super-Mare, to a disastrous matinee in Ashton-Under-Lyme seen entirely, and hilariously silently, from backstage, we share their final, brilliantly catastrophic performance in Stockton-on-Tees.

We would not have looked at this play from the title, it was recommended to us and when we reviewed the play and the great cast we were hooked and booked matinee tickets so we could see the show and then experience the Xmas lights. We expected the cast to be missing a few of the stars but it was not and they all appeared. Great comedy and on par with the plays that go wrong and we thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.

Almost non stop shouting, over the top acting, and badly directed. I saw this good play when it first appeared a long time ago. It was great then; alas not in this production. The only decent -actually always excellent- acting was by Felicity Kendall.

Brilliantly funny, and exhausting! A great, fun night out. Well done to all the cast.

Quick-fire laughs, a little slow to get going but great fun.

Felicity Kendall led the whole cast on a complicated romp, requiring some very quick slapstick and repartee plus a very impressive stair fall from Mathew Horne. Great entertainment!

Over the years I've seen several productions of Noises Off and it still makes me laugh out loud. Great cast and hats off to Michael Frayn.

If you need cheering up go and see Noises Off! The play is so cleverly plotted and the comedy builds scene by scene, you cannot help but laugh. This production has so many good actors all playing their parts well. Great entertainment for all ages.
