Join the revellers as mother nature envelops the Globe Theatre for Shakespeare’s deliciously disruptive and intoxicating comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
On Midsummer’s eve, four rebellious young lovers, a band of ambitious artisan players and a feuding Fairy King and Queen, all cross paths in a riotously enchanted forest. When the devilish shapeshifting, mischief-making Puck, the Fairy King’s servant, is ordered to cast spells on everyone, what could possibly go wrong?
All hell breaks loose as nature, and human nature, are turned upside down and inside out; the forest’s new inhabitants are in for a wild and unsettling night of love, jealousy and utter confusion… but once the nightmare is over, will life be a dream again by morning?
Directed by Pentabus Theatre’s Artistic Director Elle While (The Merry Wives of Windsor, 2019; As You Like It & Hamlet, 2018), with Shakespeare's Globe's Artistic Director Michelle Terry as Puck.

Perfect. The funniest, cleverest production ever. Poignant, heartbreaking moment in relation to low/high stature. Thanks so much

A fabulous, riotous play , masterfully portrayed by a wonderful cast. Beguiling from start to finish, an experience I was utterly glad I had

Fairly average compared to other plays we have seen at the globe. Felt disjointed and not a coherent piece. Bottom was a standout performance but others felt lack lustre

This was a really wonderful staging of Midsummer Night's Dream. I enjoyed how they played the faeries, and Titania and Bottom's scenes in particular were so much fun.

What can I say about last night's performance of Midsummer Night's Dream! There are not enough words to describe what an amazing, awesome, magical, hilarious performance it was! All the actors, the costumes, the make up, the musicians, the singing, the dancing and the action made for an unforgettable evening which was part of my 70th birthday celebrations!! What could be better! The whole Globe Theatre team should be very proud of yourselves! Can't wait to come back!! Thank you all so much!!

We loved the authentic Shakespearean setting, and the interaction of the actors with the audience. The cast displayed great physicality in their dancing and movement around the stage. The orchestra also added a great deal. The "substitute" cast members did a remarkable job with a script and no costuming or makeup or props. I am so happy I got to see this with my 23-year-old granddaughter while we were vacationing in London together.
