A Sherlock Carol
A Sherlock Carol
Three Christmases since the Reichenbach Falls, Sherlock Holmes has little appetite for mince pies or for solving crime. Wandering through Victorian London, he meets a grown-up and not-so-Tiny Tim Cratchit who implores him to investigate the mysterious death of his reformed benefactor, one Ebenezer Scrooge.
An impossible murder, a threatening letter, and a missing diamond – it’s just enough to intrigue the great detective. But it’s a dark and treacherous Christmas Eve, and once again the night is haunted by the spirits of the past, present, and future. Using his powers of deduction, can Holmes overcome his own ghosts to crack the case?
The worlds of Dickens and Doyle combine in this TIME OUT and THE TIMES’ Critics’ Pick coming to London for the first time, just a stone’s throw from 221B Baker Street itself!

The show was fantastic. Very entertaining. Very good how the two brilliant stories was combined together. Singing was very good too. Would different see it again next year if it is showing. Hopefully it comes to the grove theatre in Dunstable. Thank you.

Clever plot delivered by a very talented cast, most of whom cover multiple roles. The bit where they seamlessly interject, changing roles each time is superb.

You can’t go wrong with this play’s clever combination of Sherlock Holmes and A Christmas Carol. Lots of fun for the whole family in a cosy, intimate little theatre.

This play is a well known Christmas story with a murder mystery twist. The story was well written and the acting was superb. The show is very funny and creates a lovely feel good factor! I will be recommending a Christmas Carol to family, friends and work colleagues.

Enjoyable, although lacked pace in first half. Second half worked well, very good ensemble.

Excellent performance with a cast of six , 4 playing various parts . All were excellent . A very nice venue with good seating so everyone can see the act . Cant review the cafe etc as never used but a lot of people were getting coffee etc . Staff were very friendly . A good Christmas play not for under 10’s but for Adults & teenagers . You kept waiting to hear well known phrases from both books . Would book to see it again next year . Pleasant way to pass a couple of hours .

This play was very amateurish and boring, left at half time, had enough. Only about 5 actors playing several roles and moving the stage around as they acted, really poor performance and very disappointed.

The actor who played Sherlock Holmes did not depict the Sherlock Holmes character and showed no apparent characteristics of the gentleman in his appearance or acting. He was not dressed the part, even though Dr Watson was outfitted true to character. He certainly knew his lines exceptionally well but he did not depict Sherlock Holmes as we know him. I am a Sherlock Holmes aficionado, as you might guess. Regardless, I enjoyed the show thank you and the twist in portraying Conan Doyle with Dickens .
