Noises Off
Noises Off
Theatre Royal Bath Productions present Felicity Kendal, Jonathan Coy, Matthew Kelly and Katherine Kingsley in the fortieth anniversary production of one of the greatest British comedies ever written.
Hurtling along at breakneck speed, Noises Off follows the on and off stage antics of a touring theatre company as they stumble their way through the fictional farce, Nothing On. From the shambolic final rehearsals before opening night in Weston-Super-Mare, to a disastrous matinee in Ashton-Under-Lyme seen entirely, and hilariously silently, from backstage, before we share their final, brilliantly catastrophic performance in Stockton-on-Tees.
One of the UK’s best-loved actors, Felicity Kendal plays the role of the forgetful Dotty Otley. Having shot to fame in The Good Life, Felicity has won numerous awards for her stage work.

I saw the last day of the production. I have been wanting to watch Noises Off for the longest time and the expectation of it certainly paid off. The actors were excellent with the quick wit and action that everyone portrayed. Really wished it had run longer as i would certainly want to watch it again. Bring involved in theatre too, the relevance of what actually happens on stage and back stage and the drama that actors have is certainly true to point… enjoying tech rehearsal…. Ya right?! 😁 It was very enjoyable and everyone should watch it. You will not be disappointed.

I saw this 20 years ago which is why I wanted to see it again. 2nd act not as good as previous show but Act 1 and 3 brilliant. Well done.

It was a wonderful evening of laughs. God knows we need to release more laughter into the world and this performance certainly played its part. My partner had never seen the play and it was a joy watching her in fits. Thank you cast for lifting our spirits.

This was brilliantly acted by all members of the cast. Haven’t laughed so much for ages. Hats off as to how they remember all the complexities. Can thoroughly recommend it

The show is excellent though at times the projection of some of the cast dropped at times. I was in the Grand Circle at the back and this meant that the black curtain pros arch restricted the view with the heads of the cast not visible when they were on the landing. Nothing was mentioned when purchasing the tickets.

Noises Off is a very funny play, and the cast was brilliant at bringing out all the humour in the script. Additionally, the sight gags were supremely well timed and the costumes excellent. I missed some of the jokes as I was laughing so much.

This show was out of this world. The timings of slapstick and all performers were exemplery. I will recommend this show as a great one and great value for money

Sadly, it's not what I expected. I was in the mood for laughs, but for me they just didn't come. Tbh the over zealous door slamming became annoying rather than comic. Sorry but true

The performance was spoilt for us because neither of us could hear some of the actors clearly enough. This was true particularly regarding Felicity Kendall. We were in row N of the stalls. We love this play so it was a particular disappointment.

I'm not a theatre goer. This was my first attendance in decades, but this was a special treat for my partner's birthday. I first became aware of Noises Off when I caught part of the film many years ago, and loved it. I figured even I could enjoy the theatre for this show and I was not wrong. A slow start in the first act, but the comedy and insanity built further and further as the play unfolded. I'm not one to laugh out loud very often, but the audience were in hysterics by the end and I joined in too. Gary's performance was outstanding. He must be exhausted at the end of each show. But everyone played their part beautifully. Well done to cast and crew.

The evening did not start well as my friend waited outside the old front entrance of the theatre for 20 minutes. A clear illuminated sign to indicate the new side entrance would be useful.

What a great night out. Superbly acted, brilliantly choreographed and incredibly funny… as long as you enjoy farce you’ll love this production

It was a cracker. Incredible timing, Gary's slapstick was fantastic, such a physical role, executed to perfection. Felicity Kendall made a lovably confused actress (Mrs. Clackett) who struggled to get her lines & actions together much to the directors irritation. The whole cast were excellent, loved Matthew Kelly as Selsdon, a gentle, old theatrical lush! A wonderful 3 Act farce, guaranteed to make you laugh, even more so if you happen to have any theatrical experience yourself. A 10 out of 10 production.

A very funny comedy with an intersting angle to command the attention. Unusual too in having three acts, all of which were hilarious. Extremly well acted by all the cast. A brilliant theatre outing.

To see so many great actors on one stage is enough but to watch them in such a superb play is a real bonus. I have seen the play so many times and even been in an amateur production but this version is exceptional.

Found Felicity Kendall quite hard to hear, not enunciating well. After ten mins the fist act livenened up. Second Act was very good indeed. Third act timing superb but third act @ little ragged.
