Based on the smash-hit movie starring Tom Hanks, BIG makes its West End premiere at the Dominion Theatre. Starring Jay McGuiness (The Wanted, winner of Strictly Come Dancing), Wendi Peters (Coronation Street), Kimberley Walsh (Girls Aloud) and Matthew Kelly (Cold Blood, Benidorm) will star as Mrs Baskin, Susan Lawrence and George MacMillan.
Josh Baskin is twelve and life sucks, until one night at a carnival his wish to be big is granted. Now, trapped in an adult body in a grown-up world, he’s asking: is being BIG all it’s cracked up to be?
Don’t miss the hilarious, heart-warming BIG hearted musical as it lights up London for nine weeks only.
If you make a wish this autumn - make sure it’s a BIG one.
Matthew Kelly was my only favourite in the show. Some of the children's diction wasn't clear for me wheather that was a mic issue. I heard lots of Jay Mcguiness's breath intakes! If the ensemble's energy and dancing in the finale was amped up, it might have done it for me. The only number I enjoyed was Cross The Line.
My family and i really enjoyed Big the musical its was just Big fun all the way through from start to finish and left us all feeling on a high.
Really enjoyed this performance. Wendy Peters and Matthew Kelly was amazing.
Great performances from all cast and great show from What I could see
I also bought a ticket for my Nan to come along to and she really enjoyed seeing the musical yesterday and would definitely see it again thankyou for a great afternoon.
Me & my mum both really enjoyed seeing big yesterday and would definitely see it again thankyou for a great afternoon.
Absolutely fantastic. We loved it. Really great singing and dancing . Jay was brilliant. Would go again but run ending today I think...glad we got t see it as only a short run..
Brilliant show from start to finish, loved the adaptions for stage it really worked.
The show was fantastic and the cast were simply amazing - would definitely recommend the show to anyone to see
What a show, energy, dancing ,singing was fantastic! My daughter and I loved every minute and have already recommended the show to friends😉 The piano scene was my favourite part brought back so many memories of the film... Top job guys 😉😉😉😉
Booked the show spontaneously a couple of days before going to see it. I was not disappointed it didn’t miss anything out from the film. I did not know any of the songs but that didn’t matter. The cast was great and it made me feel good.
Good show very entertaining . I needed to tell my 10 year old granddaughter ( birthday today ) that the bad language and middle finger up was only for boys of 13 upwards ... A few occasions the song dragged on and the attention of Ruby and other children sitting around was lost .. Thank you
After a slow start, was a great show with lots of laughs. Jay, Matthew and Kimberley were all fantastic as were the kids. A throughly good afternoon spent in the splendour of the Dominion Theatre.
Heart warming show full of energy and fun. Great performances by all.
Thoroughly enjoyed the overall performance and each member of the cast played their part. I have been really impressed by Jay McGuinness ever since he appeared on Strictly. Would recommend this to anyone
Brilliant show, can't fault anything. The dancing and singing were amazing.
Comical and great singing
I took my 14 year old daughter. Big was my favourite movie growing up and the show was just brilliant. The actors actresses setting, music, lights, dancing were all perfect. Would love to see it all again...left on a high. Thank you
I loved the theatre, very big and grand. Great circle seats, good leg room and comfy seats. Drinks were fairly priced I felt and toilets plentiful and clean. The show was a little disappointing. With English actors using American accents I found I couldn’t understand them when singing. The show had some funny bits but when the plot didn’t follow the movie I found myself comparing it more and much preferred the movie. Set was good, music was good and the cast did their best with what they had.
You can’t fault the effort of the talent of those on stage, there were some amazing vocal and dance displays. However the score is mediocre with little in the way of commercial, catchy melodies.
I had a fabulous evening. The cast were fantastic. Been a fan of Jay's since the start of THE WANTED. We were in stalls E31 and E32 which gave us a brilliant view even though it's towards the side. I will remember this show with it's touch of adult humour. GREAT!!!!
BIG the musical was well not that BIG. It was slow, not that funny and had too many songs. It was OK but it was missing something and that was laughter and how a kid should be.
What a great musical. Definitely worth going to see.
Very poor story poor music very poor diction by the mother
Wasn’t really sure what to expect as the film is iconic. But the stage version is just brilliant. The songs tell the story and it’s still true to the film: the clever set including THAT piano scene is amazing. Jay McGuiness and Kimberley Walsh were great, so were Matthew Kelley and Wendi Peters - well, all the cast were. If you can get tickets, do it, you’ll not regret it.
I took my 2 kids and my mum for her 70th birthday all of us found it absolutely amazing loved every minute of it from start to finish
Lovely musical true to the original film. Songs, although unfamiliar were good and beautifully sung. Jay McGuiness and Kimberley Walsh were especially good. Seats were a very good price for west end production. Highly recommend
A show performed to the highest every one was brilliant from the little guys to the BIG guys came down from Edinburgh to see this show and went home satisfied every song was beautiful
Brilliant show, puts you in a feelgood mood. Stays true to the film and really enjoyed it.
Absolutely fabulous!!!!! Best thing I’ve seen in years Great cast and music Very funny too Love it It’s a must see
It was a perfect day out Theatre staff very helpful & kind The show was awesome the cast were incredible from kids to Adults.
A fantastic show. What a great singer is Wendy Peters. Very professional and polished performance. The set and the special effects were amazing, loved it.
Very entertaining show. Fast paced and true to film story. Both the children and adults performed very well.
Enjoyed what i could see butnNot as good as i expected.
having just seen big i found it very enjoyable as the lyrics pointed out areas of the story i never considered before would recommend it to any one of all ages Jay and Kimberley seemed to have a real chemistry and you see why both did so well in strictly
Disappointed ☹️ very amateurish performance . The story line of the film did not come through . To many innuendos and not the big kid he should have been 🤦♀️
Fab show! All cast were excellent- would highly recommend.
Big is our favourite family film and the musical did not disappoint. We loved it!
This is one of the best shows I’ve seen. Brilliantly staged and acted. What talent there was on that stage......... both with the young and upcoming actors to the professional ones. Well done to all.
i think i’ve seen amateur shows that are better . such a shame we still love matilda ! maybe big should watch that as something to aspire too !
Just OK Singing was great from the four main stars but found the show very slow and got quite bored by it.
This Show ticks all the feel good factor boxes for all ages. A proper musical with colour, sparkle, good singing, dancing and a story line. Highly recommend.
This was an extremely enjoyable musical. I went with my twelve year old son, who also enjoyed it immensely. He felt the boy called Austen ,one of the stars who played Billy, was absolutely amazing . He thinks show deserves a much longer run.
It was entertaining but not a top 10 musical. Some parts were not in sync which lost the effect. The singing went on for too long and felt more like they were trying to make the show longer than singing because it was necessary. It was based on the film big but lots was missing and changed but probably for copy right reasons.
So cute and pure nostalgia x x x
Excellent show....except too long! Too many songs....! I love musicals but this was too much.
I found the show was a slight disappointment. My wife had been eager to go but thought there was not any memorable songs. The best feature of the show was the Zoltan machine. Probably the least enjoyable show seen in last couple years.
