Experience the fun-filled family spectacular BIG the Musical this autumn. Based on the smash-hit movie starring Tom Hanks, BIG makes its West End premiere at the Dominion Theatre from September 2019. Starring Jay McGuiness (The Wanted, winner of Strictly Come Dancing), Wendi Peters (Coronation Street), Kimberley Walsh (Girls Aloud) and Matthew Kelly (Cold Blood, Benidorm) will star as Mrs Baskin, Susan Lawrence and George MacMillan.
Josh Baskin is twelve and life sucks, until one night at a carnival his wish to be big is granted. Now, trapped in an adult body in a grown-up world, he’s asking: is being BIG all it’s cracked up to be?
Don’t miss the hilarious, heart-warming BIG hearted musical as it lights up London for nine weeks only.
If you make a wish this autumn - make sure it’s a BIG one.
Really enjoyed the show and especially Jay Mcguiness. The staging was slick and the singing strong. Some performances need a little more polish - arm positions in dances, the children’s routines and the routine dancing on the keyboard. Overall a great evening’s entertainment.
We enjoyed the show so much. It was upbeat, funny and sad. Jay McGuinness was fantastic!!
Great acting, great cast, however, we were really disappointed with the music. None of the numbers seemed to stand out, they all sounded the same unfortunately. Usually when you leave a show you have a few songs running around your head, but sadly this was not the case.
Fantastic show very well done. The cast were excellent especially the children my son and grandson loved it too
I really enjoyed this musical. We sat in row S11 & S12 good Stall seats, (although most Stall seats are good in my view). the singing, and the sets were stunning and music was catchy. Loved the “Stars” song! I took my husband who said he enjoyed it too.... compliment indeed.I would recommend seeing this musical, but be quick, as it’s only at this theatre for a short run!
Brilliant musical big the stage scenary was amazing and the cast was very talented and was very close to film version with suttle changes but better
Absolutely brilliant such talented actors loved it
A fantastic show that took us back to our youth. Very cleverly created and a really feel good show. Loved it!
The show was very good!
I'm a huge fan of the film, for which I felt this fell short. However as a seperate thing it was a great musical with the two leads being amazing. I enjoyed and would recommend to anyone who either doesn't love the film as much as me or who watches this first.
Energetic performances from all the cast , young and not so young. Jay is at is enthusiastic best and what can I say about the piano scenes? Foot tappingly brilliant. Well done all involved.
Jay mcguiness was AMAZING as Big Josh,Kimberley Walsh as Susan was excellent, Other top stars were good Matthew Kelly was enthusiastic but showing his age with stamina to keep up.That saying it Didn't spoil a Brilliant night out.The Band were Incredible as well. The staging was amazing with so many different scenes VERY,VERY,CLEVER stage work .WELL DONE.
Brilliant show lived every moment
An entertaining musical. Wonderful dancing and singing, we were clapping along in the audience. A thoughly enjoyable outing!
Good entertaining afternoon. The cast are great. Jay and Kimberley are brilliant. Kimberley sings beautifully, what a voice!
This was my birthday treat and it was excellent. This is Jay’s part with his youthfulness. He carried the songs, dancing and acting with really stage presence. Kimberley was a surprise- not a big fan of Girls Aloud. She carried the role really well and can sing. The child actors were full of enthusiasm and obviously had a good relationship with Jay. Shout out to the young man who played Billy he was great. Staging was excellent as was the orchestra. My daughter and I really enjoyed it. Well worth a night out.
Really enjoyed this show and very true to the movie...fabulous singing from the main characters....worth seeing.
The songs was poor. The film big should of been about imagination and energy. It was made into a love story that lacked on stage chemistry. Was a real dissapointment
This show had great potential but did fall short on a few scenes. The fact that a young boy was in a grown mans body had the opportunity to create huge humour. A few scenes were prolonged and a bit stale. The music was ok. There were some really great parts to the show and clever trickery. Jay and Kimberley were utterly brilliant. Unfortunately the show needed a bit more Shazam for me.
Good entertaining evening would recommend
They have done a good job of translating the film into a musical. The cast are great particularly Jay and Kimberley. Nice bit of nostalgia.
