BIG The Musical
BIG The Musical
Based on the smash-hit movie starring Tom Hanks, BIG makes its West End premiere at the Dominion Theatre. Starring Jay McGuiness (The Wanted, winner of Strictly Come Dancing), Wendi Peters (Coronation Street), Kimberley Walsh (Girls Aloud) and Matthew Kelly (Cold Blood, Benidorm) will star as Mrs Baskin, Susan Lawrence and George MacMillan.
Josh Baskin is twelve and life sucks, until one night at a carnival his wish to be big is granted. Now, trapped in an adult body in a grown-up world, he’s asking: is being BIG all it’s cracked up to be?
Don’t miss the hilarious, heart-warming BIG hearted musical as it lights up London for nine weeks only.
If you make a wish this autumn - make sure it’s a BIG one.

Matthew Kelly was my only favourite in the show. Some of the children's diction wasn't clear for me wheather that was a mic issue. I heard lots of Jay Mcguiness's breath intakes! If the ensemble's energy and dancing in the finale was amped up, it might have done it for me. The only number I enjoyed was Cross The Line.

Booked the show spontaneously a couple of days before going to see it. I was not disappointed it didn’t miss anything out from the film. I did not know any of the songs but that didn’t matter. The cast was great and it made me feel good.

Good show very entertaining . I needed to tell my 10 year old granddaughter ( birthday today ) that the bad language and middle finger up was only for boys of 13 upwards ... A few occasions the song dragged on and the attention of Ruby and other children sitting around was lost .. Thank you

I loved the theatre, very big and grand. Great circle seats, good leg room and comfy seats. Drinks were fairly priced I felt and toilets plentiful and clean. The show was a little disappointing. With English actors using American accents I found I couldn’t understand them when singing. The show had some funny bits but when the plot didn’t follow the movie I found myself comparing it more and much preferred the movie. Set was good, music was good and the cast did their best with what they had.

You can’t fault the effort of the talent of those on stage, there were some amazing vocal and dance displays. However the score is mediocre with little in the way of commercial, catchy melodies.

I had a fabulous evening. The cast were fantastic. Been a fan of Jay's since the start of THE WANTED. We were in stalls E31 and E32 which gave us a brilliant view even though it's towards the side. I will remember this show with it's touch of adult humour. GREAT!!!!

BIG the musical was well not that BIG. It was slow, not that funny and had too many songs. It was OK but it was missing something and that was laughter and how a kid should be.

Wasn’t really sure what to expect as the film is iconic. But the stage version is just brilliant. The songs tell the story and it’s still true to the film: the clever set including THAT piano scene is amazing. Jay McGuiness and Kimberley Walsh were great, so were Matthew Kelley and Wendi Peters - well, all the cast were. If you can get tickets, do it, you’ll not regret it.

This is one of the best shows I’ve seen. Brilliantly staged and acted. What talent there was on that stage......... both with the young and upcoming actors to the professional ones. Well done to all.

This was an extremely enjoyable musical. I went with my twelve year old son, who also enjoyed it immensely. He felt the boy called Austen ,one of the stars who played Billy, was absolutely amazing . He thinks show deserves a much longer run.

It was entertaining but not a top 10 musical. Some parts were not in sync which lost the effect. The singing went on for too long and felt more like they were trying to make the show longer than singing because it was necessary. It was based on the film big but lots was missing and changed but probably for copy right reasons.

I found the show was a slight disappointment. My wife had been eager to go but thought there was not any memorable songs. The best feature of the show was the Zoltan machine. Probably the least enjoyable show seen in last couple years.
