Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s multi award-winning musical MARY POPPINS is flying back to the Prince Edward on 7th August.
Starring Zizi Strallen in the title role and Charlie Stemp as Bert, the magical story of the world’s favourite Nanny is triumphantly and spectacularly brought to the stage with dazzling choreography, incredible effects and unforgettable songs.
The stage production of MARY POPPINS is brilliantly adapted from the wonderful stories by PL Travers and the original film. It is co-created by Cameron Mackintosh and has a book by Oscar-winning screenwriter and Downton Abbey creator, Julian Fellowes. With a timeless score by Richard M Sherman and Robert B Sherman including the classic songs; Jolly Holiday, Step in Time, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Feed the Birds, with new songs and additional music and lyrics, including Practically Perfect, by the Olivier award-winning British team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.
Been a fan of Mary Poppins all my life, so was thrilled to get tickets for this show and WOW I enjoyed every single second of it, it was beyond amazing. Such a truly wonderful evening, definitely a show I would come back to see again. Superb acting by all
Thought the show was amazing. Very colourful and fast paced and enjoyable. Watched the whole show with a big grin.
I purchased our tickets as a Christmas present for my Mum (25yo & 55yo) and we loved every second of the show! We were sat in the Dress Circle and as the theatre is quite small, the seats were still brilliant at a lower price. We came on Sunday 15th Mar, just before the chaos caught up with the UK, and I cannot recommend enough that you hold onto your tickets for a rescheduled date later in the year as this is definitely my favourite show I have seen in some time now. Costume was stunning, casting is perfect and the songs and routines will have you smiling from start to finish!
A great performance by everyone, really happy show and worth every penny. I would recommend this without a doubt.
Flippin fantastic show! Bright, colourful, fun, mesmerising and truly awe inspiring! Couldn't not smile at this show! Now in my top 4 shows! So..Lion King, Mary Poppins, Wicked and Aladdin. Very impressive. Spectacular.
Fantastic show. Real feel good factor. Production and scenery was so good. Cast were brilliant especially ‘Burt’ who danced upside down.
A different adaptation. Didn’t like the Old Nanny story line ! And the cook / kitchen was too slap stick like a Panto. Waited a year too see . Disappointed. We also had a technical issue so had to wait for that to be fixed . People left the theatre at the interval and before the end of second half . ☹️
The show was fabulous. Great performances by all and group dancers were superb. Costumes and scenery excellent. Feel good afternoon , home with a smile on my face.
Absolutely fantastic performance, the characters the set the music all amazing We all thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon Don’t miss it a definite go see show
Fantastic from beginning to end. Cast were outstanding. Would defo recommend. Happy musical 😁😁
What a great performance. I attended last night (11th March) with my family. All I can say is that the overall performance of every single cast member was absolutely fantastic. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and would strongly recommend it.
Amazing energy - radiated happiness
Absolutely amazing . Loved every minute of the show. Great choreography, fantastic acting from all the cast . Highly recommended.
An amazingly well performed musical, with talent at every level of theatre.
This was such a good adaptation of Mary Poppins as we know it. Great for all ages, some real fun!
Very good show and very colourful , my wife said it was the best show she had ever seen
An adult group of 6 and we all enjoyed this performance. It was colourful and we thought the set very cleverly designed and changes seem less. Live entertainment can’t be beaten and this cast was excellent. I’m was a fan of Petula Clark in my hey day, so wonderful to see her as the flower lady. Great Performance all round.
Simple perfect in every way! The most magical show enjoyed by not only the children but the adults to!
After not actually seeing the film the first theatre performance blew my mind! Amazing cast they’re all so talented it’s unreal!!! Would definitely go again!
Very disappointed that so many of the original scenes in the movie were changed and sadly not for the better. Some of new characters or those with a lesser part in the movie were just plain boring or silly. At times it was difficult to follow the plot.
2nd time seeing the show, amazing.
It was supercalafragalisticexpealidocious 👍
This is such a joyful show with lovely singing, sets and words. I went to the matinee on Sat 7 March and the theatre was packed. You could have heard a pin drop. No rustling or phones
I enjoyed Mary Poppins, the performance was great! Very entertaining. The best musical I've seen, just perfect!
Some really magical parts - especially when Mary leaves the family at the end. BUT, not sure whether it’s down to right being owned by Disney, there was so many songs missing that you want to here. As a result the story felt disjointed. Lyrics were changed and popular songs shortened. Enjoyed it but didn’t blow my mind and I wouldn’t see again. Slightly disappointed.
Unbelievably fantastic thought we had ok seats in grand circle row B37 & 36 UNTIL WE REALIZED MARY POPPINS WAS FLYING RIGHT TOWARDS US. FANTASTIC ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC , The butler amazingly so so funny . Brilliant for kids even if your a 55 year old kid.
Mary Poppins has to be the best stage show I have ever been lucky enough to see .The routines, the songs and the nostalgia were all perfect . The Prince Edward theatre is a great venue with good facilities and also the comfiest and most spacious seats I've seen. Thankyou for a great day
Absolutely fantastic production. I grew up watching the film, so I was intrigued to see how the theatre production would be. It really didn’t disappoint!
Absolutely outstanding show, we all thoroughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend this show.
What a ride you get taken on when you enter the world of the Banks families latest nanny Mary Poppins. Such colour and wonderful storytelling evolves before your eyes. Despite the fun pace and energy there is some real good old fashioned values and morals shared in a fun way. Such fun
Great show with wonderful effects a superb cast headed by a practically perfect Mary Poppinsk
We loved every minute of it. Well worth a journey from Kent to see.
Absolutely brilliant. I want to go again! Amazing singing, choreography, special effects etc etc. Could find no fault. One part may be a bit scary for smaller children.
You must see this! So much energy from a talented group of performers. With the bonus of the national treasure Petula Clark adding even more class to a brilliant experience. Wonderful sets and the lovely music. A must!
From start to finish, Mary Poppins has the feel-good feeling that jumps from hit-to-hit. The cast are stand-out in their performance creating a magical atmosphere for the audience. Would highly recommend to friends and family!
Best musical i have seen. The scenery was amazing. The magic continued in the props. Like watching the film. The cast really looked like they were enjoying themselves.
Took my 5 year old granddaughter for her birthday her response when we left was that was amazing and I can only agree with her would go and see it agaln
Seats J2-J3 were very comfortable and viewing of the stage excellent. The show is amazing! The stage sets were brilliant and so cleverly designed. Would highly recommend this show and theatre.
Fantastic feel good show.
A truly exceptional show with an outstanding cast, thoroughly enjoyed.
Wow, What can I say from start to finish the staff was awesome, as I walked through the doors the staff went out of there way to make me feel very welcome. all the staff need to be recognized for their hard work throughout the night. The show was amazing had a fantastic time. Only 2 frustrating bits was nothing to do with the theater itself it was unfortunate that I had sat next to a Lady who sang and hummed all throughout the 1st half, which was a little disappointing when you want to hear the actors sing. we did, however, move in the second half to empty seats. which was a shame as the people in front were leaning on the rail in front so it completely blocked our view.
The show was outstanding , thoroughly entertaining from start to finish . It’s a must see show
A beautiful production, brilliantly performed, with the perfect balance of all your favourite songs and scenes and some delightful new material. My only quibbles are 1) the loss of the suffragette story line, but we do get to know Mrs Banks a little better than in the film and she is still finding female power in some ways... sort of! And 2) the questionable choice to have Mrs Corry as the only black character, and a rather hammed up Jamaican stereotype... was not sure about that at all! All in all a terrific outing for adults and children alike and the timeless magic of the story and songs lives on...
We took our 5 year old granddaughter she loved the show. We thoroughly enjoyed it too.
Fantastic show. Amazing set. Superb singing and dancing. A real treat for all the family.
Fantastic show, would watch again
A wonderful performance enjoyed by three generations.
A fantastic show which kept us entertained. A twist on the original story but kept the nostalgia which we love.
