Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s multi award-winning musical MARY POPPINS returns to its original West End home at the Prince Edward Theatre from 23 October 2019.
The magical story of the world’s favourite Nanny is triumphantly and spectacularly brought to the stage with dazzling choreography, incredible effects and unforgettable songs. Starring Zizi Strallen, returning to play the title role following great acclaim on the recent sell-out international tour, and Charlie Stemp as Bert, who recently gave an award-winning performance as Arthur Kipps in Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Half A Sixpence.
The stage production of MARY POPPINS is brilliantly adapted from the wonderful stories by PL Travers and the original film. It is co-created by Cameron Mackintosh and has a book by Oscar-winning screenwriter and Downton Abbey creator, Julian Fellowes. With a timeless score by Richard M Sherman and Robert B Sherman including the classic songs; Jolly Holiday, Step in Time, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Feed the Birds with new songs and additional music and lyrics, including Practically Perfect, by the Olivier award-winning British team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.
The best theatre performance I have seen to date. The cast were outstanding and the show was truly magical.
Had an amazing time. My daughter said it’s the best musical she has ever seen . My two grandchildren loved it too. Very happy memories. A lovely birthday present for my daughter. Pat Surrey.
This truly is a wonderful show. All round family entertainment of the highest calibration. Money has been spent on this show and it really is seen in the quality of the sets, costumes etc.. One tiny criticism would be that the wires in the elevation sequences were really visible but really a very minor dig!! Would thoroughly recommend this show. Spectacular family entertainment.
Me and my husband too our 11 year old daughter for her birthday to see the show, one word ‘AMAZING’!!!! Seats fab, music fab, cast fab, it was a fantastic show!
If your a fan of the story you won’t be disappointed with this stage show. The sets were imaginative and very well done. The stage show kept in all the familiar bits and added some extras which was well done. As for the cast they were very, very professional and the whole production was polished and you could see the enjoyment in everything they did. I would thoroughly recommend this show as ideal for children as well, my nine year old grandson thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
All round amazing show, Zizi is incredible! Would definitely recommend and would absolutely go again! Good fun feel show something for everyone!
We purchased this as a Christmas present for our children (and us) and we can honestly say it was the best production we have ever seen in London. The cast were amazing throughout, and the storyline was kept very traditional but also modern too. We were in awe throughout.
You must give and see this show, over the years I have seen many but this was absolutely amazing!!@!!!@@
Fabulous musical - well cast
Practically perfect in every way, I loved it
One of the best musicals I've ever seen
Such a great show! Cast and crew should be very proud. It was sooo good would easily watch it again. Thank you.
We loved the show last night, we really liked that they added new bits which are not in the movie so that the show gets more interesting ! We just wished people in a front of us would have behaved and not ruin the show for us and people next to us .
A great show! Usual Disney style and impressive sets. Only negative is that the Theatre is chaos!! Arrive very early for box office and have cash for ice cream otherwise you queue twice. Staff unhelpful and rude. Amazing singing, dancing and overall a brilliant show.
Brilliant show much more than expected
The performance of the cast is very good 👌🏻
Good show with a great set and visuals
Was the most magical emotional evening! Just love it!!! Technically and artistically perfect in every way!
Best show I’ve seen for a while. Moving, funny, and with ole ty of the wow factor! It left my best friend and I reminiscing over childhood and with a lighter step back home. Can’t recommend this show enough
This show was fantastic. The theatre is beautiful, the set was amazing and the cast, costumes and songs were out of this world. I was mesmerised from the start and could have quite easily walked straight back in and watched it again. You will not be disappointed.
Absolutely amazing show,in fact would go and see it again.
The show was fabulous from start to finish. An explosion of song’s & colour. Everything from the cast, stage & costume was brillant
An amazing production of the much loved musical film. This Mary Poppins has a charm and verve all of it's own. The production is slick, the cast engaging and the songs keep coming at a rare old pace. The stage set and special effects are incredible. If you're a fan of the Julie Andrews film or just looking for a very 'English' Musical I would heartily recommend this show. As Mary Poppins herself would say "Practically perfect in every way".
Took my 9yr old grandaughter, we had seats E2 & E3 good seats but you miss part of the stage. The show was amazing and the effects were great such as Mary Poppins bag. A really good time had by both of us. Really recommens this show

This show is really beautiful !! One of the best I have ever seen ! And that last scene, when she flies with all the stars on the background is magical ! I was with my sister and we loved it !
Absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. Loved by us all. Man and woman 45 and daughter 11.
absolutely brilliant. The perfect family show
The young man who played Michael Banks was my favourite character, great acting- very convincing. Lots of high energy parts and I loved the modern twists such as the supacalifragilistic song! This is now one of my favourite west end musicals.
We loved it. Beautiful stage sets. Uplifting and modern version of a classic. We will go again :-)
Didn't know what to expect, but wasn't disappointed. Fantastic show and excellent cast. Book direct with the Theatre thou as ticket price £75 for front seats. This company charged me £90 per ticket, so ended up paying £30 more than I should have. Disgusting !!!
A TERRIFIC SHOW
This was my daughters Christmas present and we travelled from Sheffield for a weekend of fun in London. The show was great. The efforts of the cast were something else and we loved the entire storyline. My 10 year old favourite bit was Burt walking up the wall and I loved how Mary Poppins did the tricks and could fly
A most wonderful production of this Mary Poppins, full of energy and enjoyment! Very cleverly done.
Would highly recommend this show, family friendly with a great production & extremely good cast.
