I wasn't expecting such a show. We laughed clapped sung. I will never forget this play. It was brought up to date but kept true to the full shakespear script. Well done.

I didn’t really know what to expect from this play based on the photos. I knew it would be silly, but the actors/actresses did an AMAZING job. Every one of them was extremely interactive with the audience and made every second of the play enjoyable and entertaining. I wish I could see every single play at The Globe!!!

I felt like in jail. They don't let you sit down on the floor even if there is not people around. I would understand it if it was full of people but it was half empty. We are humans not machines. It is long and even if the actors are good we had to leave because it was cold and horrible.

What an amazing production of a midsummer nights dream. The cast were superb. Billy Seymour as flute had the audience including myself and my daughter in stitches , This take on the Shakespeare's famous play was awe inspiringand original. I would definitely recommend anyone to go and see it before it closes. Well done all .

I took my boyfriend to see his first ever Shakespearean play and he absolutely loved it! Not only is the play itself ridiculously funny but the director’s use of props and the cast’s improvisation on stage (like that of the true Shakespearean fool) made for a hilariously entertaining production. It was a magical and inclusive environment for all who watched.

A very strong accomplished cast. No . Not a good idea for three senior citizens. Next time we’ll purchase real seats. Theatre staff was very considerate and helpful. One went above and beyond to help us have a really enjoyable evening.

Loved every second, always wanted to see a play in the Globe, This definitely did not disappoint! They completely changed the story making every turn surprising and unexpected while keeping true to Shakespeare’s brilliant wording and plot! Phenomenal!

I took my Daughter for her 11th bday. We didn’t really know what to expect, so kept an open mind. The Globe theatre is beautiful, and it was a magical experience. The play was absolutely barmy! My daughter and i were laughing from start to finish. All the cast were amazing. I would definite recommend!

The rest of the crowd seemed to enjoy it but I couldn’t see a thing from the rather expensive seats I bought. No warning. That the view would be so obscured. I could see about 20% of the stage if I craned my neck

the performance has been brilliant. the queen has lost her voice and all the other members stepped in to cover her role in a wonderful and smooth way. Definitely appreciated the diversity of the team and the eclectic interpretation. Also, I want to spend few words on the volunteers: they are all extremely helpful, nice and welcome. Thank you for such a great time.

Very very funny production. Me and my son as well as the rest of the audience were lugging from the start and all the way through. Was not expecting such a brilliant time.

Not what I expected but very entertaining adaptation including a life size piñata, audience participation and singalong classics. A touch ridiculous but all in the theme of a dream so disbelief suspended. Overall a fun, engaging performance of a Shakespeare classic!

I had seen the pop up Globe in Australia and thought maybe I didn’t need to visit The Globe in London. Boy was I wrong ! What an amazing experience. Midsummer Nights Dream was for everyone. It was a wonderful way to bring Shakespeare to all generations ....modernising bits, engaging the audience whilst keeping true to the story. The players were brilliant and the pasties and cider added to the authenticity of the atmosphere .

Very energetic but many effects appeared to be imposed rather than arising organically from the text. Very odd verbal tics from Theseus/Oberon. Costumes spectacular but not always communicative. Good to see the audience for Pyramus and Thisbe above and behind the action. Odd decision to have Bottom and Titania still coupling during final dance at the expense of the apparent through line of reconciliation. This reflected an emphasis on individual moments rather than trusting the play's narrative arcs.

Sheer pantomimic entertainment- very far from the original and much ad libbing , with inappropriate action for a weekend matinee ,and at times amateurish.

I have only ever left a theatre at the interval once before - last night was the second time I could not face returning to see the second half. This was the worst Shakespeare production I have ever seen. I don't read reviews before seeing a show - I read the Evening Standard, Time Out and The Guardian this morning and agree with their opinions, apart from them giving it three stars - I would not have given them any. Shakespeare will be turning in his grave at the destruction of his amazing play and Sam Wanamaker will be turning in his grave that such a debacle has been performed at his theatre. This was not an innovative production, it was a mess. Peter Bourke looked like he was in a completely different production ( I expect he wished he was!)

Saw this recently with the grandchildren and great success despite their age groups being from 8 to 15. I was keen to instil in them at an early age how entertaining Shakespeare can be and it worked as they all loved it. We found it very funny and a wonderful take on this tale. It was good to see how differently this could be and still work really well. We will be looking out for next years production and cant wait.

The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars was because I wanted to be on the stage myself, but it has given a lot of ideas for my next stand up. But bravo to the actors, writers and everyone else who was involved with making me and my friends visit a very special one ✌🏻 Peace out.

The play was OUTSTANDING. The actors talented, the musicians excellent. The guys at the back however were acting like ‘thought police’. They were watching our every move for signs of cameras or for if we stood or sat in the wrong place. This was upsetting and most people were commenting upon it. There was no need for big brother to have to continually make its presence known. There are other ways of providing security and advising patrons. Furthermore, I would not mind paying more for a standing seat. I paid £6, why not £10? - that would be better than to be asked for money by one of poor actors at the end of the performance. It felt cheap.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience full of colour and music ; cast completely gender blind in fantasy costume ,the script imaginatively rendered and occasionally interspersed with additional quips from a brilliantly funny group of actors and musicians .

First of all the cast was outstanding. My wife, my daughter and myself, left the play overjoyed all the way home and then some. The use of the Africa dialect in some speeches lent a very different prospective on a well loved play. And I for one found it delightful.

A fantastic performance from both actors and musicians alike. My mother and myself spent our first experience of Globe life totally absorbing and loved every minute. The performance was a fabulous mix of mayhem and mere that at 88 years of age was delightful to watch her enjoy. A special thank you to all the staff who made the visit manageable and so friendly. A great team of people who couldn’t do enough. Thank you again

Played for laughs with strong female roles, it's OK but relies on too many gimmicks such as a female Bottom and the Titania mobile. It was not a patch on the 2016 version in terms of both quality and comedy. The purpose of speaking occasionally in what I assume was one of the African languages, defeated me entirely.

Very disappointing. The play resembled Notting Hill Carnival with just a touch of original Shakespear thrown in. Very confusing with Puk appearing to turn into different roles. Where was the magical forest? For the first time ever in theatre going I left at the interval. I'd brought my two daughters aged 49 and 52 along as I'd seen the play about five years ago at The Globe which was performed in traditional style and I wanted them to experience the magic of it. I'd booked the seats very early so didn't know what style it would be performed in. The actors were full of energy but sometimes their diction was hard to understand. Also they only seemed to play towards those standing . We were seated at the side in the Gentleman's box and felt left out of it. However I love the Globe and will be back.Gloria

My 14 year old and myself really enjoyed the production of Midsummer Night’s Dream. We came on the hottest July day on record and, despite standing in 38degree heat, it kept our attention throughout. We loved the band and the humour and thought the whole thing was vibrant and hilarious! Loved it!!
