Henry IV Part 1
Henry IV Part 1
Two Harrys: Harry Hotspur and Prince Hal.
Sons to enemy fathers: Henry Percy and King Henry IV.
Hotspur is preparing to lead an army against the King – incensed at the King’s dismissal of the Percy family’s demands.
But Hal is occupied in the pubs and streets of Eastcheap with his companion Sir John Falstaff, uninterested in his inheritance and in the fate of his country.
In a polarised England, each person must choose which truth to believe, and which cause to call their own.

A spur of the moment decision and our first visit to The Globe. We will be back soon. It was a fantastic performance

A superb night out (including a meal at the Swan). The production brought a play from my school days to life, interacting with the audience, and lightening the prose with regular humour. Great use made of stage space especially for the battle scenes. We will be back

Although I have no problem with gender fluent casting-I found Falstaff incredible. A good performance but--was she trying to caricature Falstaff or BW Falstaff? Whichever-Falstaff has to be a bellicose man. Also-Falstaff is "old" but she was skipping around the stage which made the interpretation even more difficult to understand. I think the atmosphere of the Tacerns was lost in this production--and Henry looked incredibly young to be Hal's father. I could go on but overall I found I was having to use my imagination flat out and was not immersed in this interpretation

Very nice play for one who haven`t seen many of Shakespeares plays. Very Good actors, they managed to combine huomr and toughness… as it shouls be in a S. play
