Man of La Mancha
**The role of Aldonza will be shared between Danielle De Niese and Cassidy Janson. Click on the link here to view their performance schedules**
The producers who brought you the smash hit productions of Sweeney Todd, Sunset Boulevard, Carousel and Chess present the Tony-award winning musical Man of La Mancha, at the London Coliseum this spring.
Featuring the legendary song, The Impossible Dream (The Quest), Man of La Mancha is inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’s masterpiece novel Don Quixote. This uplifting, timeless tale stars Kelsey Grammer, Danielle de Niese, Nicholas Lyndhurst and Cassidy Janson, for a limited 6 week season.
Described by esteemed American critic Edward P. Morgan as ‘One of the most magnificently moving pieces I have ever seen on any stage’, and celebrated throughout the world, Man of La Mancha at last returns to the West End in a new production for the first time in 50 years. Performed on the magnificent stage at the London Coliseum with the ENO’s 35-piece orchestra, it is set to be the theatrical event of the year.
Join Don Quixote as he chases his impossible dream, to pursue the beautiful princess Dulcinea – and a few windmills. Determined to uphold all that is good and right at a time when the odds are stacked against him, Quixote’s courage is abounding, and we are all compelled to follow his unreachable star.

This show was new to us. What an absolutely brilliant cast and production. Sensational singing and top class acting. I got quite scared when the muleteers carried the leading lady off stage on mass. A very enjoyable, thought provoking performance. Thank you to all the cast for a memorable night out. Xxxx

Excellent production and performance from all. Excellent performances from Kelsey grammer and nicholas lyndhurst.so nice to see these two.brillisnt actors performing together in west end. I look forward to.booking more plays with them in.the music was really enjoyable through out. Such a shame only a six week showing of this production. I overheard others in the audience giving the same excellent reviews.

A thoroughly enjoyable and moving performance. It is a show that I know and love having performed in it many years ago. Last night's performance reminded me of what a fantastic show this is. The music and performances were great. The standing ovation says it all. Some of the press reviews have been quite negative - unjustifiably in my opinion.

The show was well produced and all members of the cast gave good performances. Sound was good as someone who is slightly deaf I did not have any issues hearing the dialogue. The songs were great, there were more than I expected and of course Kelsey Grammer gave a sterling and touching performance as Don Quixote. The finale with Impossible Dream sung by the entire cast was very moving. My friend and I both enjoyed it and would recommend it if you are looking for a light hearted easy watch.

i only stumbled across this show by seeing posters on the underground and saw that it was almost over as such a short run. I immediately got tickets the next day as being a Kelsey Grammar fan from TV show Frasier sent me into a flurry. Who knew that he could sing that well and he brought to the stage the theatrical clout to the part of a man who, awaiting trial, puts on a play within a play. resoundingly good orchestra and strong small ensemble. a few tears at the end for the perfectly stage managed ascent of the stairs to THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM - great job. its in my forever memories.

Kelsey was absolutely fantastic, such a giving actor, amazing. Negatives... did not get the modern clothes at all and the fight seen was very amateur. In saying that we loved the show and of course the theatre is beautiful. For those who know nothing about the story, it would be wise to read about it before you go as it is a rather confusing true story line

Lovely theatre, helpful staff. We had booked Balcony seats but were upgraded to the dress circle. The show was fantastic, Cassidy as Aldonsa was superb and Peter Polycarpou was hilarious. We were both extremely impressed with Kelsey Grammar.

Enjoyed the show , thought Kelsey Grammer excellent acting but singing voice not good enough .Disappointed we did not see Danielle De Niese , although other lady was good her dialogue singing was not clear enough . We thought it ,should have been stated when we booked our seats who was performing the role . Orchestra was fantastic . All other cast remembers excellent.

The leads were both very good. The show was moving and interesting the way the set was modernized and yet set in period during the play within the play. The actors were incredibly good with both Kelsey and Nicole giving outstanding performances. I highly recommend this show.

Unlike some other reviewers I though Kelsey Grammer was very good. But the confusing plot - comedy one minute and gang rape in another- was poor and spoiled the experience., the ENO singing was good but dancers poor. In Eurovision terminology nil points.

Very well acted from the whole team .Danieele De Niese Especially Orchestra seems to be unappreciated in a few shows i seen . Theatre was amazing ,not a full house so got given free upgrade Think you should give seats to the people /schools /Youth clubs so you get a full house

They could all sing well. The story has funny bits but also some shocking parts. We hadn't seem it before so don't know if it is usually done that way. The staircase was very effective and a brilliant idea.

Totally enjoyed the show, although I was told some of the reviews were not good. I thought this top notch. Would definitely go again and Kelsey Grammer certainly is a STAR. The whole cast were excellent. Did not disappoint in any way. Although I did wonder who was responsible for Nicholas Lindhurst's costume, or was he wearing he own clothes??

Mostly good cast but not well balanced. Let down by production and direction. Worth a view at reduced rates. Audience seemed to enjoy it (half full) so maybe it is getting better with time.

I saw the matinee on 22nd May and thoroughbred enjoyed it although we didn’t have Danielle De Niese in the role of Aldonza.. The orchestra, direction and staging were superb and Kelsey Grammer and Peter Polycarpou deserve special mention. The standing ovation at curtain was fully deserved,

May 19, 2019
Wished I'd done my homework and read the reviews before going! It is one of the worst musicals I've been to, in fact we left at the interval as I wasn't prepared to site through another hour. Poor storyline and singing, with the majority the performers underperforming.

A rather leaden production - leads good but somewhat lacking in charisma apart from Mr Polycarpou

Loved it, not normally one for musicals but this one had me from (nearly the) start to (definately the) finish! Kelsey grammer can sing, story was brilliant-thanks to cevice, Rodney's cameo was subtle and therefore perfect. Couple funny moments but not badly overloaded like a lot of west end shows. And was upgraded to some great seats. All in all I had a great night

This musical was fantastic in every way. Don Quixote is an unforgettable character in Cervantes' book and Kelsey Grammer portrayed his range of emotions brilliantly- in both speech and song. I cried frequently as he really got to me! I have seen both leading ladies and although Dulcinea was portrayed slightly differently, both were excellent. Orchestra and conductor set the scene with exceptional music.

Kelsey Grammer is no Pavarotti, but nor does he pretend to be. He gave an honest, enjoyable and exuberant performance, ably backed by a fine cast. The standing ovation at the end of the Wednesday matinee was well deserved.
