What’s Six The Musical about?
Divorced. Beheaded. LIVE in concert! Meet the six wives of Henry VIII as you’ve never seen them before. These wives are fit, fierce and feisty. Writers Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss have done for the Tudors what Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton did for America’s Founding Fathers. Furthermore, these British wonderkids have created a storming sound-track of medieval mastery fused with anthemic pop and it’s an instant classic! Their intoxicating Tudor take-off stormed the Edinburgh Fringe. What’s more, it created such a buzz that Londoners demanded a royal audience too!
Think ‘Little Mix meets a grown-up Horrible Histories plus a little bit of Eurovision’ and you’ve got Six The Musical in a nutshell!
Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleves, Katherine Howard and Catherine Parr: These six Tudor Queens became Pop Princesses overnight. Now, Henry VIII’s wives take to the mic to tell their tales, cramming five centuries of historical heartbreak into a 75-minute celebration of 21st century girl power. But which Queen will win your heart?
This homegrown histo-remix is now back and rocking the Arts Theatre, London.
Six The Musical songs
From the first, pulsating, thrumming drums, you’ll be drawn in to the up-town-funky Ex-Wives, and the sassy No Way. Then, step aside Catherine of Aragon and make way for Anne Boleyn/Don’t Lose Ur Head! Our hearts break every time we hear the Adele-like Heart of Stone, but then we’re straight back up and laughing our heads off (literally in some cases) with the Haus of Holbein. Finally, check out the rest of the Six The Musical score here, including Get Down, All You Wanna Do, I Don’t Need Your Love and Six.
Six The Musical awards
The brilliant Six The Musical has bagged multiple awards including: Best off West End Production (WhatsOnStage Awards) and Best Costume Designer (Off West End Awards). But that’s not all! Six also scooped Best Ensemble in a Play or Musical (BroadwayWorld Awards), Best UK Cast Recording (Curtain Up Show Album), Musical of the Year (Spy in the Stalls Awards), Best Musical Production, Best Ensemble and Best Musical Direction (JEFF Awards in Chicago). Along with those came multiple award nominations including SIX WhatsOnStage and FIVE Olivier Award nominations and Best Theatre Show at the prestigious London Lifestyle Awards.
Six fascinating facts about Six The Musical
1. Writers Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss worked on the show together during their final terms at Cambridge University. Marlow’s degree is in English and Lucy read History. Clearly, the perfect combination for a historical musical.
2. All Six The Musical casting breakdowns request female-identifying performers, or gender non-conforming performers who are comfortable playing a female identifying character – a big step forward for the Tudors.
3. When sickness struck the cast, writer Toby Marlow appeared as Catherine Parr for two sold out shows, stepping in on 28 July 2019. We think that’s pretty cool. Watch a video clip of Toby in action here.
4. Six The Musical has taken social media by storm, with TikTok engagement in particular suddenly turning the Tudors into the new Kardashians!
5. Six The Musical was the first musical to resume performances in London after the pandemic. London will be forever grateful.
6. Writers Toby and Lucy met at an ATM when Toby ‘fan-girled’ Lucy following a performance of a gritty drama she’d directed, called Road. We have a lot to thank that ATM for!

It was an excellent show we all enjoyed it well worth a watch
Absolutely incredible show. The cast were absolutely incredible. So much energy! Staff at the arts were super kind and helpful,
Bijeoux theatre, with fabulous cafe. Very intimate setting. The SIX Wives were on fire and so entertaining. Love the fact that you can photo and video at the end. Standing ovation. Seen the tour, and so pleased to have seen this performance. Also enjoyed my Howard cocktail - yummy.
This is the best thing I have ever seen! It was my daughter's birthday present and it was just incredible. 5 stars we plan to come again!!!
The perfect feel good musical with amazing voices. Had the best evening, funny and catchy and visually stunning.
The six actors perform their roles with high energy and take you with them. Seventy five minutes that goes so quickly you'll think the show only last 30 minutes" The added bonus - you learn some history. You'll have a favourite queen but they all have great voices - would definitely go again. A must see show!
using music of nowadays, and already known by my youngest - she could sing each song as her friends went to see the show and they shared details. a number of modern parallel to keep parent smiling too... oh and wait it was kind of educational :)
These talented women presented a brilliant show. So glad I went and I'd easily go again.
What a fantastical show, humourous, full of energy and highly entertaining.
Watched Six yesterday and I was totally blown away - I knew most of the songs but wow I was aghast with the power and energy these girls bring- donβt normally watch the same show twice but canβt wait to see it again.
Me and my partner went and loved every second. Real female empowerment!!!
Itβs a Hoot!
It was amazing my daughter was over the moon so talented all of them xx

I have attended plenty of shows in the west end and on broadway, but this visit was by far the best piece of theatre I have ever seen. Must see, and great intimate setting with excellent crowd interaction.
My 11 and 13 years old daughters enjoyed the show hugely, indeed they wanted to stay for the evening performance as well. I wasn't convinced at first, but was won over by the sheer energy of the performers and simple message of how women are overlooked in history.
Absolutely epic. LOVED IT
Brilliant show will definitely see it again
Amazing x wanted to see it for ages x booking it again when it comes to Norwich x
First impressions of the performance - WOW! These actors were so professional & their consistency was flawless. Everything was perfectly timed from acting to dancing and each voice was outstanding. They even dance in heels and I don't know how! Before seeing the show, I didn't actually understand the context of the songs. But, after the performance, it all made sense. It was like having a really cool history lesson. The girls were very witty, funny and sassy & had my full attention. My nephew even mentioned that he really liked it when the Queens were 'talking' in his terms meaning the dialogue. But overall, the story, and the songs, are (very) very well written. I am privileged to say that I got to take my nephew to his first ever West End Show & he loved every minute! I don't know how soon I will book this show, but it is a definite must-see & you will be singing their songs for weeks. Occasionally, I will find myself humming 'I Don't Need Your Love' about ten times haha. Thank you Queens for an unforgettable day. I will never forget it!
It was a great show! Each song sung by a queen was excellent. And we thought the next song couldn't possibly beat the previous song but it did! The singing was amazing and the costumes were brilliant.
I went for my birthday and even though I had heard very good things about six, the show was even better than I expected. I'm already planning to go and see it again The queens were brilliant
Amazing! Phenomenical vocals. Brilliant lighting. Must see again. Needs to come to stoke. 1000000000 out of 10! Out of this world, amazing group!
Very good show, very funny and my 15 year old daughter loved it.
What an amazing show, the queens were out of this world and all so talented, cannot wait to go see this again.
We went as a family and absolutely loved it. Itβs fun, sassy, cool and uplifting! A great afternoonβs entertainment. Just bought the soundtrack and want to come back again!
Fabulous show Full of energy and a great history lesson Book now before itβs too late
Clever, funny and great music. We spent the next day quoting our favourite bits. There were many! Got me thinking about what history I thought I knew and what I should find out more about too. Would see this production again! 75 mins of pure joy.
The show was spectacular and my daughter had a great time also got to meet two of the queens and they were very lovely. Great atmosphere good service all round great evening.
I booked to see this show as a birthday treat for myself, as a friend of mine said it was great. Really entertaining from start to finish. The Queens and their Ladies in waiting were fantastic. Highly recommend going to see this Show.
Me and my daughter attended six the musical, with the wind and rain bellowing. But whilst watching the show we forgot all about it, all the girls including the musicians were amazing, and didnβt want it to finish. Well done girls, keep up the good work. X
Really fun, great songs and wonderful actresses!
I have now booked my third set of tickets to see Six... and I left Hamilton at the interval!
Really enjoyed the show, entertaining, funny, clever lyrics and sassy.
Loved, loved, loved it!
I didn't know what to expect. I love history but went for my daughter. The singing was breathtakingly beautiful and the live band amazing. Costumes, atmosphere and dancing was absolutely brilliant. The history was very tastefully done. Would love to go again.
Six was brilliant!! The singing was amazing. Shame it was so short!!
I am an artist with 30 years experience singing and dancing in the Uk and abroad I took my daughter who introduced me to 'Six' It was absolutely brilliant !!!! I loved the show and the context of the whole story The voices of the wives are outstanding, the female band were talented musicians, the costumes choreography and production were faultless. All in all a great show to watch - I highly recommend!!
Refreshing change from most drawn-out musicals! It was fun and fast paced with no interval. Performers had incredible voices and great stage presence. Would recommend to anyone for a fun, entertaining evening out.
Simple but interesting concept.
This show was fantastic from beginning to end. Even my husband enjoyed it and he is not a big fan of Theatre.
One of the best shows Iβve ever seen! Loved it soooo much! Would highly recommend to everyone. Very educational, extremely funny and the songs were great. It stands out from other musicals because itβs different but it is still very good. The cast and band are soooo talented. The theatre is small so you can see everything really well and you sit close to the stage no matter where your seats are. Definitely would go and see it again.
Brilliant performance and production. Highly recommend Six.
I loved every bit! Six of me and my friends went (bit ironic) and were in the front row. Ur neck doesnβt hurt from looking up and the tickets werent that expensive so id recommend trying to get front row. The only thing that hurt was my face from smiling too much. Their vocals, dancing, acting! It was hilarious and fun and sad all at the same time! Definitely one of my favourite musicals and i will 100% go again!
Must see show. funny, entertaining, informative, thought provoking from start to end. The Six all have incredible singing voices which left goosebumps after each performance. 10/10 πππππ
Witty story line, catchy songs, amazing acting and breathtaking singing!!
A great uplifting and empowering show, delving a little deeper into the six wives of Henry VIII. I would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Absolutely fabulous. Took my daughter & 9yr old granddaughter (her birthday treat) We all loved this energetic show a modern twist musical on the six wives of Henry the eight. My granddaughter knows all the words to the songs and was singing along. The cast were amazing to sign her program when they came out, which made if even more special. Thanks for a fab night.
First time to the Arts Theatre. Tiny little place but made it so much more fun! The girls were fab, great singers, very funny and an interesting way of making history fun! Hope to see it on tour!
