This play was fantastic, very well written and acted and captured the atmosphere of a Jamaican family. The flow of the play was consistent with enough laugh out loud moments that also tempered the moving moments. Really hope it comes back to London.

Very funny play with amazing actors. Left feeling like we should have seen a little more about the characters and the storyline. I think the play would have needed to be a bit longer for the characters and story to have a bit more depth.

Very well written play and although nine night as a tradition is not something that I could relate to many of the other themes that were explored were. Especially the conflict about being black and British. The music was great and reminded me of growing up as did the set.

As a white guy in a mixed race marriage the stereotype's portrayed in the London/Jamaica community that have formed over many years was hilarious. We laughed and cried, great performances from everyone, but Aunt Maggie took the cream.

'Nine Night' was a very enjoyable evening. The characters and story line was very good. It was nice to see a play that I could identify with and laugh at the characters who were very similar to my family members. Definitely worth going to see.

It was a wonderful, enjoyable and funny play. I was accompanied by my workmate who is from the Indian culture we both many of laughter moments. She loved the 'one liners' which I had to explain to her. The room was full, I didn't see an empty seat, it goes to show that ethnic plays can brought to the West End and tickets will be sold. The room had a mixture of people from all walks of like and ages, that is on of London biggest asset. Being Jamaican I would have loved to have more of the kumia music and people dancing but the story was told.

So true to WI life. Both funny but thoughtful raising family issues of relationships across generations complicated by migration. Excellent writing direction & acting.

Very well performed emotional topic with elements of comedy in the right places. And real tears and snot too. Can't fault it in any way. Great acting, scene change over, music, stage set up. Captured my attention from the start and drew me in. Brilliant! Thank you.

A very good theatre production and the acting was fantastic. The issues that they cast brought into the play are very real for some Caribbean families and the traditions.

Absolutely brilliant. A mixture of sadness and humour in the heart of a Westindian house "The Kitchen". Fantastic acting by all of the cast.

It was an excellent funny, sad and memory provoking playing. I saw it with two friends. We are from different islands and England; all three of us find it reminiscent of our experiences. So wonderful to be seen, heard and entertained.

Love the play Nine Night, lovely acting from the actors, play was both funny and sad, thought provoking showing an insite to a Jamaican tradition. Also addressing the decision and heartbreak of many parents to leave children behind to be brought up by other family members, once traveling to the mother land? Only one slight disappointment was the choice of music playing in the background, don’t understand why Studio One/Treasure Island music was not chosen, that would have been more in keeping to Jamaican tradition- Slim Smith, John Holt, Delroy Wilson. Alton Ellis etc. The play was a way to bring Jamaican culture to different generations and other cultures, which should have included the music choices.

I thoroughly enjoyed the play it depicts a culture in true role. I was touched by the part of the sister left behind which forms a part of the culture of children left behind, by parents and wonder if there should have being a warning of parts in the story may trigger some people emotionally. Because I am sure that there may have been people leaving the theatre feeling certain emotions and not clear what its about. Yet others may connect directly with what the emotions is about. Very enjoyable apart from the emotional impact

I watched this play last night with my husband. We laughed loudly and were stunned by the almost perfect display of hurt, anger, rage and rejection from the big sister from Jamaica. What a powerful story. Highly recommended

I heard wonderful things about this play and I have to say that it certainly lived up to the great reviews. The play had a balance of authenticity, raw emotion and humour. I was drawn in from start to finish by exceptional actors. I was emotional at times because I could emphasise and relate (from personal experience) to most of the characters and the key message of the play. The only part that I didn’t really like was towards the end, when the characters could see and hear the spirit...I understand the point but felt it was over dramatised and it lost some of its authenticity in my view. However, overall I think Natasha Gordon has exceeded expectations. Well done.

Nine night is a must see!! Absolutely amazing. You quickly become engulfed in the story as it raises so many emotions of laughter and sadness but captures the essence of true nine night in the Jamaican culture. The actors and actresses did an amazing job of representing the many characters within family that I especially could relate to. Aunty Maggie is my favvvv- 😆

Went to see Nine Night with a friend. Had to find the entrance to the arena by ourselves and went different ways before locating it. Then had to find our seats, no one to direct you really except one attendant who was stood in the arena and a bit rushed off his feet. The script was good. The aunty was the only character who made me laugh. Other characters did in parts. Overall acting was very good. Sat in seats B10 and B11 which was a perfect view in my opinion, though cramped as not much space between seats and not much leg room. Ridiculous rule that once seated you can't leave your seat for any reason and if you do, you can't return!! So use the loo before and don't drink during the play. No interval. Play lasts 1 hour and 50 mins.

We enjoyed Nine Night but felt that the production needed a director to clean it up. Some of the characters such as Trudy was played just over the top. She needed to be pulled back a bit. The accents were at times inconsistent and it was hard to understand some of what was said.

What a funny and heart wrenching play. It captures beautifully the Jamaican culture and rituals of death; as well as the complex family dynamics from the winddrush era. A definite must see

A great deeply thought out play that was not only extremely funny, but tackled deep and controversial issues surrounding death, tribal values and religion with in the West Indian community and gave the audience food for thought. The acting was superb and they interacted well and all characters were well developed .Would definatley recommend.

Nine Night was a very entertaining show. The cast performed their roles true to Caribbean heritage. The message reflected the experience of many children left behind by mothers who went abroad to pursue a better life. The feelings of each character was displayed very well by the actors. The laughs fit in naturally and were not forced in anyway. It was an evening well spent. I would not change the message one bit. Well done to the cast and crew!!

I have never resonated with a film/play more than Nine Night. Every character and their story line represented a family member of mine to a T! The closing story line with Trudy was particularly emotional for my sister and I because my sister was Trudy. She was acting out the exact course of her life which we found incredible but also scary. All in all without giving too much away, it was a fabulous show. Massive well done to Natasha Gordon for selling out every time, she has done an incredible job. The cast were absolutely phenomenal and did their roles the upmost justice. I wish everyone involved the most success. High recommended!

Extremely well written, a true reflection of a Jamaican Nine Night and I think it's a tradition we should preserve. It hit on some difficult topics, that we all know sometimes gets swept under the carpet but we know are there. Fantastic cast, I'd definitely recommend it to friends and family..............please let's see some more!!!

Very dramatic and enjoyable in the latter part. First part could have been more lively, Using the word fu..... was absolutely unnecessary, the loud playing of the music was unnecessary - listening to it in the background was ok Overall enjoyable compared to some shows I saw recently.
