Bill Bailey - Larks in Transit
Bill Bailey - Larks in Transit
Larks in Transit is a compendium of travelers’ tales and the general shenanigans of twenty years as a travelling comedian. With musical virtuosity, surreal tangents and trademark intelligence, Bill Bailey tackles politics, philosophy and the pursuit of happiness. Plus, he fashions a symphony from a ringtone, tells the real story of Old McDonald, and a re-imagines the Stars and Stripes. Two decades of touring larks from a comic described by the Daily Telegraph as ‘the brainiest comic of his generation’....

Good varied one man show showing Bill's talents as unusual musician, nature and bird lover. Not afraid to mock himself or politics.

I was up in the gods and I thought Bill was not addressing himself to us in the rafters. Maybe it was the lights. There were some good moments but none of those 3 minute belly laughs you can get watching comedians. Bit more zany music might have worked... Talented geezer 4 out of 5 can't be bad....

Bill Bailey at his best. A journey that takes in the ancient Greeks, Shakespeare, Samuel Pepys, Morcambe and Wise and finishes with LED Zepplin. Quite brilliant really.

From start to finish, Bill Bailey regaled us with wit and ridicule blended with a fine display of multi-instrumental musical talent and a few homespun truths. Altogether it made for a most entertaining afternoon.

As usual Bill Bailey puts together an eclectic mix of topical observation, jokes and music. He even manages to include a section in German. What a talented individual. We thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Bill Bailey has the audience in the palm of his hand from beginning to end. His casual observations, witty & clever, together with great musicianship make for an hilarious evening of entertainment - nonstop laughter. I’ve seen the show twice recently, firstly in Sydney & then last Wednesday in London - both superb.

We expect high standards from BB. Last night he came on, but was garbled and jumpy, keeping the audience on edge, everyone willing him to get into his rhythm. IT took him half of the first act to get it running smoothly and get the laughs we expect, as he was clearly nervous and disjointed in his patter. It was only in the second half, when he went into musical madless did it really come together.

An amazing show full of his sharp wit, self-deprecating nuances and outstanding capabilities. Bill is a talented musician and his classical training shows - good singing voice too - so much energy in this show and the audience loved every minute - quite brilliant

If Bill Bailey had not been born we would have had to invent him. His shows should be available on prescription as an antidote to the madness we like to think of as real life. His gentle style of vitriolic rant, of course all meant 'in a good way', is even funnier now as he approaches a more reflective age. He is intellectual without being superior, and still magnificently weird.

Took mum for her birthday, wasn't sure that her sense of humour would be in line with this, but she came out saying she hadn't laughed so hard in ages and was truly one of her best birthdays. Very cheeky evening without ever being crass or borish, just clever wit

Bill Bailey never fails to disappoint whether I see him on TV or in a live show. His political comment was delivered with wit and humour to what was obviously a like minded audience. His ad libs and interaction with his audience were skilful and funny. He played an amazing variety of instruments and sang as well. A hilarious evening of entertainment.
