Honour
Honour
When we see a gold ring on someone’s hand and we want it, we don’t take it, do we?
For Honor and George, the arrival of the self-assured Claudia threatens to wreck a 32-year marriage. But as the power balance starts to shift, the husband, wife, daughter and lover together must face the fundamental question - what is love?
Staged in the round, with double Olivier Award-winner Henry Goodman as George (Merchant Of Venice, National Theatre and BBC/HBO), actress and writer Imogen Stubbs as Honor (Little Revolution, Almeida Theatre), Olivier Award-winner Katie Brayben as Claudia (Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, Aldwych Theatre) and Natalie Simpson as Sophie (Boudica, Shakespeare’s Globe).
Often compared to David Hare’s Skylight and Harold Pinter’s Betrayal, Honour paints an unflinching portrait of what happens when a secure marriage suddenly stalls, and when the opportunity arises for one life to be revived at the expense of another. Don’t miss this poignant and gripping revival!

I arrived from NY on the red eye so was tempted to cancel my trip to the theatre. So glad I didn't. Never felt the effect of jet lag because I was so entranced by the content of this exceptional play. Performances flawless, script fascinating. Wonderful,

As a woman, I could relate to the theme. The play was very engaging; script was very good- I wish I could get my hands on it.

The cast did their best with a disappointing script, although Imogen Stubbs seemed far too young to play a sixty year old wife, eliminating an essential aspect. The plot is an overworked cliche of man leaving for a younger woman, with a weak ending. In the writing, characters repeating parts of phrases was really irritating.

Acting was very good for everyone except Imogen Stubbs who I felt was over acting . The subject is dated and it was totally predictable. Would not recommend.

Wonderful script. Pace rather slow. Found character of Honour a bit whiny

Fascinating play about love, adultery, marriage and relationships. Riveting dynamic between the four actors. Went straight to the heart of difficult issues to do with honesty versus betrayal. Youth versus middle age. Plenty of discussion from audience afterwards. Highly recommend it.

I'm not very articulate when it comes to how I feel about things. But, I thoroughly enjoyed this play. I really felt what the characters were feeling. I laughed. I cried. I was sad when it ended. Superb script, exquisitely performed.
