Interesting! Notice you did not have actually houses this time ! Interesting talks on renovation & permutation for design of items used & from scratch for building & gardens! Liked the bathroom stands ! Ladder stands ! Wooden floor covering ! Reminds me of the parquet flooring in 1960s! Amazing old designs are returning they go round in circles!

My husband and I came to the show as we are planning a large project next year and wanted to see the newest innovative ideas on heating, insulation, cladding, roofing etc... We didn't see anything we weren't already aware of and there were no insulation suppliers. There were too many double glazing companies and some items not relevant to Grand Designs- Property at all....ie beach shoes??? Not what we were expecting.

The day started with a reduced fare ride over the emirates air line which was a ni e way to enter the Excel. Once inside it was divided up into 4 sections which to be honest the only part we were intrested in was the cooking section, we did how ever go around and loom at other stalls to see what was out there. Would i go again? Maybe in a few years and may be if i was actually having a house build.

Unless you want a choice of 20 sliding doors and shower heads don’t bother! Minimal kitchens and pretty much no bathrooms! Better off selecting a range of different products and show casing them but just looks like who paid the most gets in! No thought process!
