Jim Steinman's Bat Out Of Hell - The Musical

Winner of Best Musical at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2017 and nominated for 8 WhatsOnStage awards in 2018, Jim Steinman’s smash-hit musical Bat Out of Hell returns to London at the historic Dominion Theatre!

Bat Out of Hell went on to become one of the most successful and iconic rock albums of all time; but it was originally written as a musical. 40 years after its release, Jim Steinman’s exhilarating tale of star-crossed lovers ‘changed the way musicals are staged forever’ (North West End) as a boundary-pushing spectacle featuring thrilling performances of legendary hits by Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf.

Now, after its hit season at the London Coliseum in 2017, Bat Out of Hell returns, helmed by its multi award-wining creative team from the world of Theatre, Opera, Music, and Film.

What Is Bat Out of Hell About?

Bat Out of Hell takes place in a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, as the forever-young Strat and his out-of-control gang The Lost roam the streets under the rule of the tyrant Falco. One day, Strat’s bleak existence is broken when he falls for Falco’s daughter Raven. Explosive and full of belting tracks, this ‘jaw-dropping spectacle’ (Evening Standard) is a full-throttle ride towards the rock and roll dream, punctuated by love and rebellion.

The musical features 17 of Meat Loaf’s greatest hits, such as ‘I’d Do Anything for Love’, ‘You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth’, and obviously, ‘Bat Out of Hell’.

The most sensational night of musical theatre. Best show ever! The songs, voices, special effects, lighting, set design - just about everything worked. The show has moved to Toronto, but get a ticket when it returns to London in 2018. I took friends - who were not particularly fans of Meat Loaf's music -but they all admitted it was one of the best shows they had ever seen!

The night was most enjoyable. The guys singing the songs were as if Meat Loaf was there himself - the best of compliments!
