What Is TINA About?

Rock legend Tina Turner has won 11 Grammy Awards. Her live concerts have been seen by millions. She’s sold more concert tickets than any other solo performer in music history. But where did the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll get her start?

TINA, The Tina Turner Musical traces the rockstar from her humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessee, all the way through to her transformation into an icon of the music world. Presented in association with Turner herself, this new musical tells the story of a woman who didn’t just break the rules, but rewrote them – defying the bounds of age, race, and gender time and time again.

Took me wife to Tina for her birthday, it one me a lot of brownie points! An exciting show from the very outset, tracing Tina’s life back to her gospel roots and through the challenging years with Ike. Post the interval the show focuses on her amazing come back in the 1980’s and builds to up to a climax of brilliantly executed hits. Already thinking about going again.
