What Is 42nd Street About?
Peggy Sawyer may be from a small town, but she has big dreams. Fresh of the bus in New York, the young, hard-working Peggy lands herself a spot in the chorus line of a new Broadway show. At first she is just one dancer among many, but when the show’s leading lady is injured it seems that Peggy may get her shot at the limelight after all.
An American fable that never fails to sweep audiences off their feet, the London production of 42nd Street is a vivacious, technicolour masterpiece that features a cast of more than 50 performing all-new songs and dancers as well as favourites such as ‘We’re In The Money’, ‘Lullaby Of Broadway’, ‘Shuffle Off To Buffalo’, ‘Dames’, ‘I Only Have Eyes For You’ and ‘42nd Street’.
Directed by Mark Bramble, the director of the 2001 Tony Award-winning revival of 42nd Street, and playing at iconic, Grade-I-Listed London venue the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, this exuberant production is not to be missed.

Bought show tickets for my sister and her husband to celebrate her birthday and she loved it. She has recommended the show to her friends on facebook as it is so uplifting. Elaine has always loved tap dancing, and 42nd Street doesn't disappoint. Go see it!
Everyone in the production is full of energy including the orchestra! Costumes, scenery and dancing is excellent
Fabulous I will definitely see again.
The best show ever.
Amazing show. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and the dancing is fantastic! I want to watch it all over again!!! A fantastic show for any age!! If your not sure about tap Dancing? You’ll be in love with it after watching this show! Superb!
I go to a lot of shows in London and this one was a good one but not one of mine favorites, the dancing was brilliant and very energetic reminded me of Fred Astair&Ginger Rogers, you do however need very seats to see everything, we had stalls D14&15.
Loved every minute. A very sparkling, feel good show. Would certainly go again
Brilliant cast who are all fantastic dancers and singers. Lulu was good though some of the songs didn't necessarily suit her vocal range. All round wonderful night at the theatre.
We loved this show, especially the whole cast tap numbers. The opening dance sequence was amazing. The costume designer obviously had a great time! Spectacular! Highly recommended.
Really good show, amazing costumes and everybody involved had so much energy would definitely recommend to go and see
Probably the best musical show I've ever seen, the dance routines, costumes, set and Lulu's voice Fantastic! Clare Halse, as Peggy Sawyer, what a dancer, unbelievable. It's thrilling, funny, the best two and half hours money could buy, Loved it.
Great show, costumes
What a Show ! The costume changes , the razzle, the dazzle, timing , a full on dancing extravaganza !! The tap dancing Was phenomenal. Absolutely loved it. Made me want to start tap dancing 💃🏼. We arrived Saturday afternoon & we were upgraded. We had fab seats & thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. Thank you all x
If you like the old film musicals of the '30's then this is the show for you. Spectacular costumes, enough tap dancing to last a lifetime and the old songs sung magnificently. Even the lack of the star, Lulu did not detract from our enjoyment.
Saw 42Nd Street as a birthday celebration. Lulu was excellent as Dorothy Brock, likewise Tom Lister as Julian and Clare Halse as Peggy, but to us the stars of the show were the ensemble and choreographers. The dance scenes were simply spectacular and brought so much of the music to life. A lovely evening.
42nd Street is a show with a great "feel good factor". The production is slick with a vibrant young company aided by beautiful costumes and sets. This was my second visit and I would come again tomorrow. I will be singing the songs for days to come.
What an wonderful show, I would recommend the experience to all
It was very good and the costumes were amazing. Just a shame that the second leading lady doesn’t get recognised as much as the main leading lady being Lulu (Dorothy) as felt she was far superior, but famous celebrities always win over. Well done Clare Halse (Peggy), you were amazing!
If you like singing and dancing, with wonderful costumes, this is the show for you!
Brilliant cast, scenery and music.
Amazing performance by the whole cast .
Impressive music, dancing and acting!
So enjoyed the show. Would recommend it totally. Left breathless at the sheer energy of all the cast. Wonderful evening!
What an absolute dazzler of a show. Outstanding talent from acting to singing to dancing. The set and costumes were stunning and my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our night in the west end.
FABULOUS ‼️‼️‼️‼️ Worth the long flight across the pond.
the show is really spectacular, this is the 6th time I have travelled down from Sheffield to see 42nd Street - it is wonderful
This was probably one of the best shows I have seen. SPECTACULAR
I have been three times ... and each time see different things. Not a huge plot but the outfits, singing, and tap dance all magical! So fit the cast. Would lI've to go again ...
Fabulous feel good show. So many great costumes and amazing dance routines. Highly recommend.
The classic New York Broadway show that adds a very different flavour to the West End. There is love but it's not a love story. A true dancing classic of a passionate young dancer. From the first act to the last (yes I mean THE last) the dancing is non stop and so entertaining! There is friendship, there are friends, there are frenemies. This was an all heartwarming insight of 'behind the scenes of broadway' depicted live in this beautiful performance.
Fantastic show , so many costume changes and tap dancing which was just brilliant, loved it , sat in royal circle
This was my second time seeing the show and it was just as good as the first! Amazing dancing, costumes and adorable characters. x x
Thoroughly enjoyed the show and would recommend it to anybody.
The worst Theatre experience ever . The seats were not great however there were lots of empty seats to our right which we asked to be moved to , to be told by the RUDE staff NO .At the interval we left and would certainly not return to this theatre .
Fantastic, wonderful, brilliant the most enjoyment I've ever had with my clothes on ,can't wait to come again.
Amazing energy, dancing was brilliant good feel factor show. Highly recommended
Haven't been to a musical in years because "I don't like them". Took my 11 yr old daughter to this one mainly for the dancing but was really impressed and surprised to so enjoy, what is a classic musical. The hits kept coming, Lulu was magnificent as were all the cast and the dancing was mesmerising. I'm rethinking my position on musical :)
Words could not explain this show you have to see it to believe it. It was excellent I will go and see it again and would highly recommend it to others.
I booked 6 tickets very last minute for my family (ranging from 10 years to 52!) and we all loved the show! We were seated in the balcony and the View was fantastic, the dancing gave us goosebumps and the singing was excellent. Loved Lulu. Wished we could go again x
Had a great evening, the singers and dancers was fantastic. We sat in the upper circle but had a clear view. Beautiful theatre and great price !
Brilliant. Professional and slick. Really impressed with standard of singing especially from the leads. A must see.
This was my third time! I just love it, the music the phenomenal dancing, the energy of the cast couldn’t be better!
