You have been summoned for jury service...
A landmark new stage production of Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution takes place in London County Hall, planting audiences right in the centre of this gripping story of justice, passion, and betrayal.
Leonard Vole stands accused of murdering a widow in order to inherit her wealth, and the stakes are high: convince the jury – and the audience – of his innocence, or face the hangman’s noose. That is, after he’s survived the shocking witness testimony.
This production immerses the audience in a unique courtroom setting, complete with drama and intensity, on London’s Southbank.
See you in court.

Show was sooooo good. Loved every second! :)
kept us guessing all the way with twist after twist
Perfect location for this play. The acting was faultless. The great plot. All agatha fans should see this play
We really enjoyed it !
Good production of this classic drama in a beautiful setting!
Seen this twice will probably come back again, brilliant acting!
Thoroughly enjoyed this show, was wonderful to go to a unique setting, thought might be too ‘wordy’ and a tad dull but gripping, funny and well acted. I took my 10 and 12 year old too ( Agatha Christie fans) and thought they may get bored and fidget but really enjoyed as well.
Perfect setting and really well acted; a unique experience.
Wow what a fabulous performance in a fabulous venue. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves crime and or theatre
This has got to be one of the best plays I've seen in a very long time. I was captivated from begining to end, loved the twist in the storyline and would highly recommend seeing this to family and friends.
Totally realistic. Time flew bye whilst trying to unravel the evidence. Of course I got it wrong, however it was a clever conclusion. Brilliant!
Amazing show must see. I attended the show with my kids age 16 & 12. We all loved it a lot.
Unique, atmospheric, charming theatre production. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole afternoon in the lovely setting of County Hall.
Everything was just right cast, set, script, lighting and of course the venue was just perfect. A wonderful experience would recommend it to anyone.
Great show with twists and turns
I really enjoyed the show, it is quite dramatic in places and loved the twist at the end.
Very good evening. Felt very involved in the action due to the set up of the venue. Highly recommended for a great evening out.
Fantastic show, I do so enjoy Agatha Christie’s twists.
Excellent play in a brilliant setting, fabulous acting. Highly recommend.
Well worth seeing. Well acted. Excellent twists to the story.
The best production I have seen in years!!!
A great thriller from Agatha Christie, I would highly recommend this performance! The actors and actresses played their parts brilliantly and it really was entertainment on a cliff-edge, with the audience gripping the end of their seats. I would recommend anyone going to see this performance not to read the story beforehand as viewers are informed all of the way through the storyline, and reading up will ruin the surprises. My friend and I booked tickets which were behind a pillar and although we were told this when we booked the seats, I would recommend that the venue does not sell these seats in the future. In the second half we abandoned our cheaper sears and sat in two spare seats nearer to the stage which was a great call as not only did we see the performance closer up (our choice to book cheaper seats remember), we also got to see the beauty of London's County Hall and all of it's splendour. A really great performance and I would highly recommend this to anyone considering this.
We sat in the Jury and yes you are part of the play... it is worth the additional money. It twists and turns from start to finish, you will end up questioning everything you saw and days after we are still talking about it. It’s a court drama set in a court, it’s intimate and perfectly cast.
A great play in a great location which makes the experience more real. Great actors. Would definitely recommend.
Very good show, the setting was excellent, the acting first class, I was captivated till the end. Well worth seeing.
A thoroughly enjoyable rendition of an Agatha Christie story - great production!
Wonderful setting, great acting and throughly enjoyable play. 5* Totally deserved!
A large part of what makes this a fantastic production is if course the set, or should I say the repurposing of an actual Chambers. It's an impressive court all by itself but to use it as a stage for a play of clever. The production is very good if you're a fan of Agatha Christie. It stays faithful to the source material, with good performances from the cast.
Ladies day out and we all loved the show. We had seats in row E which were great ( I dont think any seats in the courtroom would be bad). Geat performance and fabulous setting.
Wonderful afternoons entertainment. Highly recommend attending.
I absolutely loved the play!! I thought the cast were superb, the theatre beautifully authentic setting and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience !!!
Great plot. Superb acting.
I enjoyed very much the evening. A good piece as in old times in a realistic scenario. It couldn't have been better. Thank you very much
Excellent show, great atmosphere in fact it really felt as if we were in a real courtroom. Actors were brilliant too. Definitely worth going to see
This was something different. An interesting show with excellent acting in a superb setting. I absolutely loved it.
A very different theatre experience - thoroughly enjoyed by all family members. Good twist to the plot with a great atmospheric ambience. Would thoroughly recommend.
I am very familiar with this play. It's certainly a favourite. I saw it very recently with the previous cast. I was impressed enough to travel three hundred and fifty miles round trip to see it again. However, for me the play had changed. It's still a five star production. The technical aspects, sounds, subtle lighting changes, the superbly executed scene changes, and tight direction are all still firmly in place. The bold movements of the setting and design all work so very well. But for me, it was like seeing a different Dr Who to the one you grew up with, a different Jean Valjean to your favourite one. It's the same, but its not the same. I preferred the previous. We all have preferences. This is just my review as i was asked. Go and see this, and you absolutely will enjoy the play, the superb setting, and all that the director Lucy Bailey and the team have produced. The audience at the matinee performance I saw thoroughly enjoyed it. You will too.
The play holds your attention from beginning to end. Great actors. Very witty. Amazing scenario. It’s a safe bet for fun.
The acting is superb...love that being hard of hearing,I heard almost every word as proper good old fashioned diction!!! The setting is glorious...one of the best shows we saw on our weekend visit.
EXcellent, dramatic environment, superb acting and superb music. Only problem patrons should NOT eat during the performance, such as sandwiches- this is very distracting especially when there are smells of food during a performance.
Thoroughly enjoyable play in wonderful setting. Lots of red herrings helped to keep the suspense going right to the end.
This was a fantastic show with a surprising twist at the end. Thoroughly enjoyable and thought provoking!
We thought the play was superbly presented. We heard every word which is a delight after Television. My husband wears a hearing aid but enjoyed hearing every part of the delivery. Well done - excellent venue.
Absolutely amazing performance!
Amazing. Cast interacted with audience .Felt I was a part of the cast! First class venue. Let’s hope there will be many more court room dramas. A seat even in the public gallery is good vista. I was sat on the front row, so please go easy with the smoke machine, a bit too much for sensitive eyes.
All of us thoroughly enjoyed the performance!
Great place to see a play. Felt like you were watching an actual trial. Brilliant acting and set. I would highly recommend.
The setting is fantastic, the acting , scene changes are so well done, I've recommended many friends to see it since seeing it on Thursday!
The venue, the atmosphere, the acting and suspense is superb. I sat in row A seat 13 and had to look up at the actors as the stage floor is roughly eye line level. This applies to all row A seats. When I go again I'll choose rows C to E. Great night despite slight neck ache.
