Hair The Musical

The acclaimed Hope Mill Theatre production of Hair the Musical transfers to London this autumn to celebrate the iconic rock musical’s 50th anniversary.

Set in 1960s New York against the backdrop of the Vietnam War, Hair the Musical explores the bohemian lifestyles of a group of hippies living in the East Village. With peace, love, sex and drugs hot topics, this comic and heartfelt musical encapsulates the spirit of protest and rebellion against war, politicians and conservative society that marked the 60s.

This latest, incredible production is presented in a fully-immersive Off-West-End venue, The Vaults. Featuring psychedelic design and artwork, 60s-themed pop-up restaurants and stalls brimming with tie-dye masterpieces and flower headdresses, audiences walk through the 60s to arrive at an intimate theatre where young, passionate characters explore what it is to be free.

A piece of musical theatre that has become more cultural and social phenomenon than show, this revolutionary musical is as relevant now as it was 50 years ago.
