  Thoroughly enjoyed the show so did my daughter. Certainly a bit different. But a pity the guy in front didn't get spotted on Q&A he worked with David's mother by all accounts.

  Such a brilliant show, one minute you are laughing your head off another moment you are crying your eyes out. What a strong and amazing person to share his thoughts like this . I hope this show is extended at a later date.

  Your mother's death and your dad's dementia at first does not seem to be a recipe for a rip roaring comedy show in the West End. However it was refreshing to experience a superbly crafted, intelligent, honest, touching and very funny show. The incredibly articulate David Baddiel shone throughout and made this a uniquely memorable evening. Highly recommended.

  From the moment David Baddiel walked on stage surrounded by family memorabilia, you felt so comfortable with him and, seemingly him with us, that the whole performance felt like he was just having a chat with mates he hadn't seen in a while. The hysterical, hilarious, ridiculous, touching, poignant and moving stories kept on flowing and the laughter just didn't stop all show. As the subject matter is also serious in places, the effort to share with and involve others similarly affected was touching and a lovely gesture. We attended the last night of the run at the Vaudeville Theatre - I hope it is picked up for a run elsewhere as I would not hesitate to recommend the show. If not, we'll be waiting with baited breath for his next offering - always a funny man, I think his humour has improved with age! (David, if you ever get to read this, please note I am only using one exclamation mark here).

  A brilliant night out. My sides were hurting long after the show. David gives a real masterclass in from the heart storytelling about his "family" and his "coming" of age. Brutally honest, touching, toe-curling and heartrending all at once, this was a truly original show. Vaudeville theatre is an intimate venue as well. We were row B dress circle. If your family history has the potential to make you a complex person, then, as DB said at the end, writing a stage show beats therapy! If it reruns in 2017, a must-see

  A wonderfully different kind of show, warm and intelligent and so skillfully put together, DB gave his mum a fitting tribute. He spoke of both parents with such honesty - I really admired him.

  David was brilliant delivering a heartwarming honest and funny account of his family life. Both my husband and I have lost a parent to Alzheimer's and vascular Dementia and found his reaction to his fathers condition refreshing and open and pretty similar to what we have been through. We were also touched that he took a collection at the end. Thank you

  I was recommended this show without really knowing what it was about. I was a bit taken aback at the candid humour at first but quickly got over it. David managed to keep me entertained for the best part of 2 hours...I especially enjoyed the Q and A bit at the end. Excellent and different

  Loved the honesty - my mum died last year - she had dementia - my dad died last week - he was not that nice a person. I'm honest too so hearing David Baddiel talk honestly about those who we have 'lost' / 'passed away' = died was great Sue

  A funny, sad, moving and very honest monologue about David Baddiel's family, focussed on his mum and dad. At times side-splittingly hilarious, mostly at his own expense, and at times so raw, he is a master of comic timing and story-telling. also a masterclass in PowerPoint and slide shows.

  Enjoyable evening. David Baddiel makes light of his unorthodox parents and his conventional Jewish upbringing. I squirmed with him at times whilst he made fun of uncomfortable recollections. A brilliant presentation by David and a very humorous show.

  Warning-you will get wrinkles from watching this because you won't stop laughing for about two hours (thankfully there is an interval to deal with the RSI of facial muscles). Baddiel is hysterical but brings the subject of family as close to him as it is to you. He is a comic genius. Go and see this before he has a break. Money well spent. The cat draught excluder was special. I'm worried that there won't be anything like this again for a while.

  Would highly recommend this show. David Baddiel has a great talent for storytelling. I recognised my own family as he was telling his stories making it very touching.

  Brilliantly raw and brutally honest stories that had me crying with laughter. Baddiel occasionally pushes it to the point of cringe but that was his life and I completely agree with his view that laughter is the only medicine. Highly recommend

  Fabulous, extremely honest hysterical memoirs of David's family and childhood. Everyone must have a situation which can relate to him. Made a nice change to watch something like this. Recommend it to anyone!!

  It wasn’t what I expected at all, I deliberately didn’t read too much about it so I saw it with fresh eyes. I thought it was going to be an honest account of life in a typical Jewish home with sad bits but a lot of funny bits too. David was so open, frank and at times you could tell bits were tough for him to say and for me to listen to. Very thought provoking, I went with two friends and we all really enjoyed it. I viewed it thinking of my mum but also how I operate as a parent to my two grown up boys. I now want them to see it as they think that most families are "The Waltons” (is that the right grammar!!!!) and we as a family are really dysfunctional, they need to see that behind closed doors, families are complex, we aren’t taught how to be parents and in the main just try to do our best whilst trying to live our life too. I think you mum and dad would be so proud.

  Just extraordinary....hilarious and shocking, but full of love and warmth. I almost felt like I was spoken to directly as David Baddeil recounted his family stories. For me it was a rarity: something that lived up to the hype. Go and see it!

  You must go and see this show !! I laughed one minute and the next cried!! So wonderful to hear about an amazing family. We all think our family is 'normal '. This has made me realise every a person off the telly has a strange family. David shared with his audience some very private thoughts and feels. He highlighted 'Picks disease' and dementia in such a lovely way, just the family member can he rude etc but at the end they are your family member. I feel very honoured to have had David share his memories with us all. One of the best shows I have been to. Thank you David.

  I thoroughly enjoyed the show as I found David to be witty, sometimes spontaneous, brave, honest and he showed his vulnerable side too. It takes a special kind of person to open up like he did and the end result was one of the best comedies I have seen in a long time. A big big plus in my book is his love of cats. Very much enjoyed that part of the show!

  David had me and my husband clinging to his every word, he's a great talker and very entertaining...Although the subject was delicate to say the least, he made it ok to laugh, at times cringing with things he found out as a son and sad on some subjects but made it all very entertaining,. I have recommended it to others who have now purchased tickets.

  I expected this to be funny. I expected some fruity language. I expected some challenging content. And those expectations were exceeded. This is a cracking show, combining storytelling, social media and therapy. Funny as hell, rude, uncomfortable, emotional and did I mention, funny. We'll worth it if you can grab the final few tickets. But you won't have Robert Lindsay, from 'My Family', the actual sitcom, sitting behind you. We did. He had an excellent laugh. And a tan like David Dickinson. A great night. A great theatre. Get yourself down there.

  David Baddiel uses his life and family to explore aspects of universal human experience. His family provides a rich seam of comic material and, if it had been handled insensitively, it could have been offensive but he has the respect and insight to make you laugh and think.

  David Baddiel gave us an honest to goodness "no holds barred" narrative of life growing up with parents who have individual and very colourful personalities. The stories are told in a comical, but extremely heartwarming way. Thouroughly entertaining and highly recommended!!!!!
