National Youth Theatre Season - Pigeon English

In its diamond year, the Nation Youth Theatre REP Company returns to London’s Ambassadors Theatre with the West End première of Pigeon English.

Surrounded by the concrete jungle of the Peckham council estate, eleven-year-old Harri is already on the cusp of manhood. With his younger sister and father still in Ghana, Great Britain was supposed to offer Harri, his mother and his older sister a better and brighter existence. Instead, they must navigate gangs, danger and the ever-present threat of violence waiting to boil over.

Adapted by award-winning playwright Gbolahan Obisesan, Pigeon English is based on Stephen Kelman’s 2011 Man Booker Prize shortlisted novel. Hailed for its energy and intensity, this compelling adaptation is directed by National Youth Theatre Associate Director Anna Niland and provides an ideal platform to display the incredible talents of the National Youth Theatre REP Company.

A powerful revelation of the brutal side to adulthood in modern Britain, don’t miss your chance to see Pigeon English on stage. Book your tickets today.
