The Comedy About A Bank Robbery tickets
The comedy masterminds behind five-star hits The Play That Goes Wrong (Olivier Award for Best New Comedy) and Peter Pan Goes Wrong, return to the West End with their latest lung-bustingly funny creation: The Comedy About A Bank Robbery.
Welcome to Minneapolis, 1958, and the Minneapolis City Bank. Now under the gruff and rather irreverent management of Robin Freeboys, the Bank is entrusted with a priceless diamond by a Hungarian prince. However, when the jewel catches the eye of mean-spirited jailbird Mitch, he teams up with corrupt guard Cooper and Freeboys’ money-hungry daughter Candice, intent on separating the Bank from its most precious deposit.
Mischief Theatre’s new play, written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, is already being called the funniest show in London. Fast-paced and riotously hilarious, The Comedy About A Bank Robbery masterfully unites screw-ball comedy with real theatrical invention, and is guaranteed to have you rolling in the aisles.

Customer Reviews
Definitely funny from beginning to end, would recommend for a great time
We enjoyed the whole evening. The energy from the cast was fantastic the whole way through - every single member put all their energy into giving us all a hysterical evening and we laughed our socks off
Very funny. Loved bedroom scene best. Genius comic timing.
I really enjoyed this play once I got into it. It's nice and gently, cleverly funny and has some great moments of clever staging. The only criticism I could bring is that it started with quite high energy - lots of shouting and slamming doors which was a bit abrasive and also meant you felt a bit hit around the face with the jokes. By the time it got to the end and the farcical nature of the storyline got more and more absurb - with funny consequences- it was fine having this kind of energy but it would be have better if it was a little less overacted at the beginning as it made it hard to follow. Generally though it's a really fun, if slightly pricey, way to spend an afternoon or evening and is really fun and well produced.
Last year we came to we” The play That goes Wrong” & absolutely loved, best comedy play we have seen for many years. Unfortunately we chose this play on the strength of last year, big mistake. In our opinion this was not even in the same league, in fact we nearly walked out at the interval! Yours very very disappointed.
Everything was great. We liked it too much. Was very funny and we couldn’t stop laughing.
Laughed so much my sides were aching!! Well worth watching!!
Excellent fast moving comedy delivered by a very hard working cast. Not be missed.
Very funny and brilliantly executed. So witty and clever. Fantastic cast who worked so hard non stop creating hilarious scenes. The perfect tonic for a dreary November day. Loved it.
like 'A play that goes wrong' brings the art of slapstick back to theatre. Funny from the very start, with great staging - a set that can be transformed in seconds. Even the actors corpsing on stage produced a good laugh. If you want a good laugh which does not tax the brain this is the play for you.
I can't remember the last time I laughed so much. This play is hysterical. I will be going to see it again!
Excellent show, very funny.
Loved it brilliant lively full on show Loved having a good old fashioned slap stick comedy well done to the cast .
From start to finish the cast superbly deliver this fun and fast paced play. Fabulous, lovable characters with humour and wit that is laugh a minute. I never expected to laugh so much even though I knew we were coming to see a comedy, our 13-year old loved it too.
Haven't been as entertained in years at the theater. Took my 13 year old boy and we both thoroughly enjoyed every minuet of it. Can't recommend highly enough. For all age groups. Defninatly go and see their other plays e.g Groan Ups and The Play That Goes Wrong.
We had been to the Play that went wrong and thoroughly enjoyed it so were very excited to see another production by these guys and we were not disappointed. An absolute laugh from start to finish. Our party was aged 9-70 and we all laughed just as hard. The set was wonderful, full of imagination and the view from above was just genius! A great night out and we can't wait for the next one!
A lovely performance which had me laughing the whole way through. I’d gladly see it again and thoroughly recommend to others.
Actually, there are more than 5 stars in this hilarious production. And, there’s at least three boys! From the get-go this comedy lives up to its title! A rip-roaring, side-splitter that’ll have you laughing out loud and snorting like a lunatic!
Absolutely loved the show! A very talented cast, great comic timing and fabulous vocals (and a splendid ad lib recovery when the moustache fell off!) Definitely recommend!
Pun loaded hilarity from the get go. Thematic jokes all the way through delivered by an energetic and talented cast. If you see one farce in your life - make it this one!
Having seen `The Play That Goes Wrong`, my girlfriend and I knew roughly what to expect coming into this theatre show. My goodness, we were bent over double repeatedly throughout the performance. The cast were great, the scene changes smooth, and the musical numbers fantastic. Definitely worth the watch
One of the funniest plays I've seen.
My grandson (now 8) saw 'The play that went wrong' and so wanted to see the Bank robbery that went wrong for his birthday treat. He and I were not disappointed. It was excellent enhanced by our chance to chat with a member of the cast as they were collecting for a charity well done
We had two great hours!
Excellent evening of entertainment would highly recommend it to others. All the cast were brilliant. Thank you
‘Broke out ‘ in laughter from start to finish Didn’t want the ‘time’ to end Bravo Play that goes wrong equally ridiculously funny
Loved this play it was worth watching. I wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised with the plot. The cast were fantastic and really entertaining and it was funnier than I thought it would be. Would highly recommend it.
Never been to the west end before, I thought that the comedy about a bank robbery was very funny especially the bit from the bedroom scene also the showing with mr threeboys hitting the poor man with the file and off the desk. All the cast played there parts well and it was very enjoyable. So well done everyone associated with this performance.
Full of energy, great cast and very funny.
This has everything, slapstick, play on words, and very clever scenery. Great comic timing. Ideal for all ages. The office scene was inspired - I will say no more, you have to see it for yourself.
Absolutely fantastic
Having seen the Play that goes wrong , that was really funny. This was a sad show. I found it unfunny and tiresome. One of the leading parts got replaced I can only think he felt the same way. And then thank -od the fire alarm went Off and we had to evacuate the theatre.
So funny. Wasn’t sure how it would compare to The play that goes wrong but it’s brilliant. So clever and had my in tears at certain points throughout
A fun play that appeals to those who like plenty of visual humour particularly slapstick.
Absolutely Brilliant , All The Cast Worked Extremely Hard
good play , had a lough a feel good play
I took my grandsons who really enjoyed it. We had seen a play that went wrong. Now waiting to see Peter Pan
First time going to a theatre for a few years, nothing normally takes my fancy. We had great seats and this was a very funny but a good storyline show. Some parts are quite cheesy and you hope it won’t continue but it gets better as it goes on!
Slick and comedy timing excellent. Very good cast. Will certainly go and see other plays by Mischief Co. Lots of laugh out loud moments
The whole show was tremendously funny, best show we have seen and I think funnier than The play that went wrong. I think this group get better and better. Cant wait for next one.
Really good show. Endless laughing and nice to see something very silly and funny. Staging was amazing, loved the staging in the second half. Really cleverly written and a few twists here and there
It was very good and funny I would come back again
Front row seats. A great performance and incredibly funny all for fifty pounds. Well worth it.
I laughed out loud several times! My teenage boys thoroughly enjoyed the show!
Great show, couldn't stop laughing
We were all looking forward to the show as we heard it was excellent, and I can honestly say it excelled in every aspect, non stop fun and laughs from first line to last. My only complaint would be We’re going to have to go back and watch it again as we made ourselves miss a lot of it as we were laughing so much. Can’t wait to bring my kids to see this later In the year. And we will also be checking out there other show the play that went wrong. Well done mischief theatre!!!
Wonderful show
Such a well put together play and just so funny.
I was pleasantly surprised with just how funny this comedy was to myself and the rest of the audience. Full of Dad type jokes and good old slapstick this is a very reasonably priced way to laugh away the stresses of everyday life in London. Thoroughly recommend to anyone looking to see something light hearted and cleverly performed.
Absolutely hilarious from start to finish. I’ve never laughed so much in my life and I am not exaggerating. My face ached and I felt exhausted with laughing when it finished. I am recommending it to all my friends and family.
