The Comedy About A Bank Robbery

The comedy masterminds behind five-star hits The Play That Goes Wrong (Olivier Award for Best New Comedy) and Peter Pan Goes Wrong, return to the West End with their latest lung-bustingly funny creation: The Comedy About A Bank Robbery.

Welcome to Minneapolis, 1958, and the Minneapolis City Bank. Now under the gruff and rather irreverent management of Robin Freeboys, the Bank is entrusted with a priceless diamond by a Hungarian prince. However, when the jewel catches the eye of mean-spirited jailbird Mitch, he teams up with corrupt guard Cooper and Freeboys’ money-hungry daughter Candice, intent on separating the Bank from its most precious deposit.

Mischief Theatre’s new play, written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, is already being called the funniest show in London. Fast-paced and riotously hilarious, The Comedy About A Bank Robbery masterfully unites screw-ball comedy with real theatrical invention, and is guaranteed to have you rolling in the aisles.

My partner and I loved Mischief Theatre's other show, The Play that Goes Wrong and thought we'd see this too. It is sheer comic genius which is suitable for all ages. Some scenes, like the first scene in Caprice's bedroom had the whole theatre in fits of laughter. Highly recommend.
