The War Of The Worlds
The War Of The Worlds
Jeff Wayne’s multi-award-winning musical version of The War of the Worlds makes its West End debut and world stage première this February.
The original album for Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds is the best-selling musical work in history and the arena show was a critical and popular sensation, touring internationally for over eight years. One of the most astonishing, innovative and epic musicals of all time, The War of the Worlds has now been reimagined for the stage.
Based on the iconic science fiction story by H. G. Wells and adapted by Doreen Wayne, The War of the Worlds tells the story of Earth’s invasion by Martians. Merciless and highly intelligent, the Martians arrive with one goal in mind: the defeat of the human race.
With brand-new music conducted live on stage by Jeff Wayne himself, The War of the Worlds features an incredible cast (including superstar Liam Neeson appearing in 3D holography), the classic Martian Fighting Machine and dazzling special effects.
Playing for a strictly limited run at London’s Dominion Theatre, this spectacular and unique musical is sure to sell out fast. Book your The War of the Worlds tickets today.

The only theatre production we have ever walked out of! Apart from the orchestra and conductor, who were excellent , the performance was amateur, without depth and substance. We were a party of 8 determined to enjoy a birthday treat but not one of us wanted to return after the interval. We were among dozens of other people we spoke to as we left who felt the same . We were amazed and bitterly disappointed and would not hesitate to persuade others not to waste their money!

We saw the show 3 times including the final performance. Loved the new song. We've seen Michael Praed a few times on stage but it's the first time we heard him sing; a brilliant performance! The band were amazing and Jeff Wayne's music is iconic. Throughly enjoyed each and every performance we attended.

It was truly spectacular and a big bonus to see Jeff Wayne. The understudy for the artillery man Simon S was superb and has a big future in front of him.

This was a well presented musical and sang along with all the songs. David Essex was brilliant as expected but what really surprised me was how well Jimmy Nail sang. What a brilliant strong voice. This musical was worth going to see if you enjoy the original sound track.

Excellent musically, the stage performance/background film was more an interpretation than a show but the effect of this altogether was very entertaining. Specially liked 'fred' the brilliant Martian tripod (sooo cute). Ooolaa and all that!

Music was fantastic ,I could have left at half time on a high, the second half started to tire me,there was a little too much wandering around on stage in parts and lost opportunities for other special effects at stage level, the red weed was good as with the flames along the stage......Shame it all ends shortly.

Took my wife and young daughters with me on this nostalgia trip <my parents bought me the tWotW album for my 10th birthday> Fantastic evening; great visuals, great cast all driven by the music (the real star of the show) The girls had many questions on the train home, so we will be reading the book to them at bed time

I was feeling dubious before I booked the tickets as I was not too sure about the show and if I would like it. Myself and my step dad thoroughly enjoyed the show, it was a visual and musical treat. Such a great show, great to see such big names in a show. I would love to see the show again and would highly recommend it to anybody! Thankyou very much!

Everything about the performance was enthralling - the music, lighting, pyrotechnics, acting, dance, the leaves falling from the ceiling! Jeff Wayne was brilliant to watch, his passion showed throughout and the sentiment I felt reading the book was captured in the show.

“Who would have believed” Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds is a musical delight for all Sci-Fi and musical theatre fans everywhere. The electrifying and haunting music alone will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you have not yet seen the show I highly recommend that it is a must see show in town. My husband was desperate to, not only see WotW but to see Jeff Lyne conduct it. I went under sufferance but have to say I was mesmerised from the first note to the last. Everything was stunning and o only wish it wasn't ending so we could go again.

Bought these tickets for my husband who is more of a fan of the album than me. That being said, I was enthralled right from the beginning - the energy of the music and the stage production of the fist Act had me complete hooked. The second act was not as compelling as the first. I felt the production would have been so much better if there had been a slowing down of pace, tempo and tone for the more emotional songs like Forever Autumn and Spirit of Man. Sometimes the orchestra drowned out the sound of voices in these pieces and that was a shame. The addition of a bit of pathos would have given greater emotional dimension to the show. That being said, I absolutely loved it - thought the choreography was great, loved the war scene of Act 1 and the red weed in Act 2. Thought the singing was great and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who likes their 70s rock music.

When I was Young I grew up with star trek, Star Wars and Jeff Wayne's war of the worlds . when I was 7 the album was released in 1978 I have fond memories of listening to eve of the war over and over again. To finally get to listen live and see it on stage was a dream come true and I was transported back in time. Best show I have ever seen.

I have been meaning to see this musical for years. Years and years. i jave the orignal album and i love it. This show did not disappoint! The music, the stage design, the singing, it was all so amazing!! The only reason I have given it 4 stars and not 5 is that I found in a couple of the songs where there was just one person singing, the microphones could have done with just being a little bit louder. Sometimes the singing was a little hard to hear over the AWESOME band behind them.

Absolutely fabulous production, second time of seeing it and would love to see again. Cast were all phenomenal as was the music. It was without a doubt, the best production I have seen. Everyone I spoke to really enjoyed it and the guy next to me had seen it 12 times and he was lucky enough to be watching every other performance until the run finishes. Anyone who has a chance to see this before it end on Saturday night - do it you will not regret it.
