***Olivier Award Winners 2016***

Following a sold-out run at the Dorfman Theatre, the phenomenal new play People, Places and Things now transfers to the West End.

Emma is on top of the world, until she arrives in rehab. But is substance abuse Emma’s real problem? In a world shrouded in calamity, Emma’s fruitless pursuit for truth makes sobering up a formidable prospect.

People, Places and Things is the latest collaboration between Headlong and the National coming hot on the heels of the celebrated Earthquakes in London and The Effect. Directed by Jeremy Herrin (Wolf Hall), written by Duncan Macmillan (1984) and starring Denise Gough in an acclaimed performance, People, Places and Things is an astonishingly powerful play that pierces the veil we all cast over the modern world. Innovative, searching and razor-sharp, Macmillan’s latest offering is about much more than addiction, it’s about reality itself.

Playing at London’s Wyndham’s Theatre for a strictly limited run of twelve weeks (from March 2016), don’t miss your chance to see one of the most important and thrilling plays of the season. Book your People, Places and Things tickets today.

Quite simply one of the best theatrical productions I have ever seen. Compelling performances, mesmerising staging and a script ranging from great hilarity to gut-wrenching heartbreak. Should the run be extended? Yes. Should the production go on tour? Yes. More people need to see this production. Riveting!

Despite the slightly unnerving start I absolutely loved every moment of this performance. It was totally enthralling and I felt completely engaged with the story and the cast.

Wonderful performances - great ensemble work and a play that asked some very complex and uncomfortable questions. I especially appreciated its honesty and the cyclical, repetitive sequences which highlighted the dishearteningly familiar and inevitable realities of "old behaviour".

A once in a lifetime performance by Denise Gough (although one feels sure there will be many more). A powerful, witty, and imaginatively staged play with huge emotional impact. While the subject matter may feel familiar to some, it is approached with great flair, vitality, and dynamism. This production of 'People, Places & Things' will last long in the memory.

This play is no doubt very good for those familiar with mental illness and drug dependency, but very difficult for people not familiar with these topics.
