Motown The Musical (London) tickets
THE SONGS. THE SOUND. THE STORY.
Motown follows the story of Berry Gordy and the creation of Motown Records. The story begins on the evening of the 25th anniversary of the music records empire in 1983, with Berry reflecting upon his journey so far and career.
Berry recalls the times when he was a kid and dreamt of one day making people as happy and proud as his childhood hero, the boxer Joe Louis.
Having grown into a talented adult, inspired by his passion of music and with hopes of ending the racial division in the music industry, Berry borrowed $800 from his family, went from featherweight boxer to heavyweight music mogul, discovering and launching the careers of Diana Ross and the Supremes, Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Marvin Gaye and many more.
Playing at the Shaftesbury Theatre and featuring an eighteen-piece live orchestra, playing 50 Motown tracks including "My Girl", "Dancing In The Street", "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", Motown The Musical is a musical sensation with real soul - Book your tickets today!
Absolutely awesome musical highly recommend.
After reading previous reviews I was slightly apprehensive about this show but I can honestly say that I think they must have been watching another show because it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish, from the story, the singing and dancing it was amazing. Would highly recommend
an a amazing show must watch but hurry up as time is running out in three words fantastic fantastic fantastic
Booked our tickets online. It was very straightforward. We collected them from the ticket office, which was easier than I thought it would be! The show , itself, was brilliant. Loads of the old Motown songs brought back to life by a very gifted cast! The end was very clever, with the cast re-enacting what was showing on the video screens.
From first contacting your web page everything was done without any problems. Even when I needed my ticket exchanged all dealt with immediately and efficiently. No problem picking up ticket and the show was superb. Look forward to doing business with you again; thank you.
Brilliant show... love! Love! Loved it! It was my boyfriends first time at the theatre and we both had a fantastic time... we were singing all the way home, well trying too!
Me and my partner had a brilliant night well worth the money
Great show 2nd time I've seen it and could watch it over an over again 10 out of 10
Expected less. Was so surprised that the actors and dancers, singers and stage sets were as good as the real stars of The Motown music. I rate this as one of the best musicals I’ve seen.
Loved the show as I don’t really remember Berry Gordy and early Motown. The story is based loosely on Berry Gordy’s life and I found it very informative. My husband is a little older and felt timelines were a little out. The only disappointment for me was the audience as during the show they were awful...walking about, standing on seats, swapping seats, popping toilet, getting back late after the interval and recording the show. I go to lots and lots of shows and this audience was the worst!
Brilliant show we ended up singing along and dancing .
Fab cast and show
Slow getting started and was mostly about diana ross
Very entertaining I enjoyed the whole show thoughrally it was worth it.
Absolute wonderful evening at the theatre. Very well told story, beautifully sung, exceptionally acted. Would have given 5 stars if only they played a few more classics. And first half deserved 5 stars, lost it's way in the second part for 10 minutes.
Great evening out and cast, a shame it’s closing down. Great audience participation at the end, more, earlier in the production would have made it a 5 star experience .
Great show ..we really enjoyed ourselves..would highly recommend to anybody wanting to go and see it . The theatre was packed ,right up to the grand circle. Beautiful theatre..shaftesbury Avenue. Great value for money this show. There is a matinee and evening show . Some brilliant actors in this .
My friend and I both 60 loved the musical because we grew up listening to all the music so we really enjoyed singing along with it. The cast were brilliant especially Diana Ross,Berry Gordy and Michael Jackson. All the cast sang brilliantly and we loved the dresses
A trip down memory lane, with a story attached.
I thoroughly enjoyed Motown the Musical. The high energy was maintained throughout the performance and the actors were amazing. Their voices incredible. From the beginning to the end, there was no let up in the quality of the show. Highly recommended
The musical was interesting never got bored
Throughly enjoyed the show, music and singers very good
Had a great evening , a powerful production of the history of Motown music which we we grew up with. We were able to enjoy and reminisce with some of our favourite songs.
Great insight into the heartfelt MOTOWN story, great performers, great music, brilliant show!
Brilliant show, worth every penny. Couldn’t sit still from the time the show started. I’m going back!
Motown the Musical was great however your service was not. You took £191 out of my account on 25/02/19 with no confirmation of the booking by post or Email and no tickets sent to me. I could not contact you on the day (Saturday 16th) as your contact number is Monday to Friday. As the tickets were a present I had to buy them again on Saturday rather than disappoint people so I would like my Money refunded please or a voucher for a show.
Motown is an excellent production ,very enjoyable vibrant ,music.superb the best I've seen .
Fantastic great night out. Must see for all Motown fans
What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Great music. Great story.
Enjoyed this show very much. The performers were fantastic singers and actors.
Very very good - so much fun Some of the singing a little 'tired' ??? Loved it though!
Amazing show, great actors and singers! Loved listening to all the old songs and singing along!
A great performance with great music and talented performers. A real feel good show and definitely recommend you go.
Had a wonderful time and am still smiling. Such a good show.
Although the theatre is old and cramped the show was fantastic.
From start to finish it was entertaining. Great songs and wonderfully sung. It was my second time seeing it, and it won’t be my last.
I love Motown and couldn't wait to come and see the show, I wasn't disappointed. The gentleman that played BG was amazing, as was the rest of the cast, especially the young lad that played MJ. It was really hard not to jump up and just start dancing and singing along, there is a lovely surprise with Diana Ross towards the end!! I left the theatre wanting to book tickets to see it again. Also a lovely theatre in a good location.
Very entertaining, love the sounds and the dance moves. Barry Gordy, Diana Ross, Supremes, 4 tops , Smokey, Temptations, Stevie were amazing. Definitely see before it ends in April.
Absolutely fantastic. Clapped and sung along to many of our old favourites all night. Great night out.
Lots of iconic songs but none were finished 25% of a song then a mix mash of others Not as good as Jersey boys Carole king story
Brilliant show would highly recommend it
Boundless energy. Great show
Very good musical. It shows the story of Motown in a very special way
this was a fabulous show with great songs and excellent singing and dancing we both thoroughly enjoyed the performance and would encourage everyone to go before it ends A slight criticism sometimes the amplification was too loud and made hearing all the words of the lyrics difficult
All the Motown hits you expect. Really good show if Motown is your thing. Very enjoyable.
