From the beloved and award-winning children’s book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler comes the smash hit musical The Gruffalo!

On the hunt for hazelnuts in a foreboding wood, Mouse meets the sly Fox, the fun-loving Snake and the odd Owl. With just her nut map and the story of the legendary Gruffalo to protect her, brave Mouse must outsmart these cunning creatures to make sure that she’s not on the menu!

Performed everywhere from the Sydney Opera House to Broadway since it first premiered in 2001, The Gruffalo is an exuberant and hilarious show by acclaimed theatre makers Tall Stories. With lots of songs and physical theatre and just the right amount of scares, The Gruffalo is an irresistible treat for the whole family and the perfect introduction to the theatre for the little ones.

We took 3 of our grandchildren and their parents to see The Gruffalo as a Christmas treat and we all had a wonderful time. The grandchildren were 3 and 4 years old, it was their first experience of going to the theatre and they were totally enthralled with the performance.

I took my 3 year old and 18 month old, they loved it and were enthralled the whole way through. The characters were fun and the show was interactive. Obviously for the show to last almost an hour there is additional lines and songs, but there is still the original lines from the books which the children are encouraged to join in with. The characters do not exactly resemble the book, however they are cleverly done and my children didn't mind. Would definitely recommend this show - my daughter was sad to leave and wanted to see it again!
