Written by Paul Mayeda Berges and Gurinder Chadha (the writer of the smash hit film Bend It Like Beckham), brings the story of the determined Jess to the West End.

Jess just wants to play football, but her traditional Indian family has other ideas. University, career and marriage are lined up neatly in front of the teenager before she is spotted playing football in the park. All of a sudden her dreams seem possible, but not everyone can win.

Bend It Like Beckham is musical theatre as it should be, with warm and energetic characters, a punchy, funny and joyous story and jubilant music all sharing the stage. This fresh new musical showcases a vibrant original score in which East meets West as Bhangra and blissful melodies combine to create something truly exceptional.

Playing at London’s Phoenix Theatre, don’t wait to get your tickets to this unique production.

We thoroughly enjoyed the show. We went for my daughter's 12th birthday, her and her friend as well as my husband and I were gripped from start to finish. The acting, dancing and sets were excellent and we laughed out loud so much - just what we needed. It was very true to the film which is one of our favourites. If you are thinking about going then do it! You will have a wonderful time. Well done to all involved it was one of the best shows we have seen.

I loved this show. The music gave it another dimension, so it was not just an immitation of the film. The scenery staging and costumes were really spectacular, juxtaposing the glamour of an Indian wedding with the stark simplicity of a football pitch. I loved the way lighting was used to send a football around the auditorium! The audience was very youthful, but my octogenarian mother and I really enjoyed ourselves too!
