The Lion King is set against the majesty of the Serengeti Plains and to the evocative rhythms of Africa. Disney's multi Tony and Olivier award-winning musical will redefine your expectations of theatre.
What Is The Lion King About?
Disney's Academy Award®-winning beloved film has been transformed into a magical theatrical experience that explodes with life in the rhythms of Africa, in the incredible stage production brilliantly reimagined by acclaimed director Julian Taylor.
At its heart is the powerful and moving story of Simba and his epic adventure, a journey that sees him go a from wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pridelands.
A musical that is both a modern-day classic and a state-of-the-art multi-sensory experience, the African plains are brought to life on stage by amazing dancers and gigantic puppets that represent the varied and stunning African flora & fauna. Expect running herds of gazelles, cheetahs, birds, giraffes and many more incredible creatures!
As described by The New York Times: 'Suddenly, you're 4 years old again, and you've been taken to the circus for the first time. You can only marvel at the exotic procession of animals before you...' The Lion King The Musical is an unforgettable, spectacular theatrical experience - Now playing at the Lyceum Theatre in London - Book your tickets today!
Simply put excellent!
As it was a special occasion I forked out for more expensive seats Stall row P. The seats were comfortable with adequate leg room. The view was brilliant to be able to see the actors and actresses faces is a added bonus as their expressions are part of the act. Great humour within the musical not sure when we had paid so much for our tickets that children should be permitted to enter if they cannot behave. Although aimed at a mixed audience in my opinion the musical is too long for children under 8 years as they start to misbehave mid way through second half and unfair to others. Perhaps a special children’s area should be allocated.
Went to The Lion King as a birthday treat for my girlfriend. We had a brilliant time! The staging was incredible and the costumes and performances were top quality. It was suitable for everyone and you really find yourself immersed in it. We were sat right at the back but had a great view so it doesn’t matter where you sit. Would definitely recommend. One of the best productions we’ve seen. 5 stars!
My wife and I took our 5 year old granddaughter to London for her first taste of the theatre. We can tell you she was not disappointed, from start to finish she was on the edge of her seat. The look on her face and the excited applause told us she absolutely adored this show! (Oh and we did also👍) Highly recommend you take the little ones out to see "The Lion King" You won't regret it! 🦁
Spectacular, more so than I could ever have imagined, the singing, costumes, acting dancing the band were unbelievable, it was my daughters 30th birthday and we had the most amazing time x
breathtaking show!!! So creative!!!
Definitely worth watching. I would have given it a five star but I felt that some of the characters were lacking in chemistry/ acting was not natural/a bit force. But overall the show was great.
A fantastic show would recommend this one
Costumes amazing. Show fantastic! Me and my daughter would go watch it again. Loved it a must see
A spectacular show from start to find sh We found the performances utterly spellbinding
Amazing production, the costumes, the set, the acting dancing and singing was spectacular.
Was a good musical good effects and good lighting. We had a great location just the seats were bit uncomfortable apart from that was a good night.
A great evenings entertainment full of colour and quality
Sat at the back seats with someone talking while standing up all the threw tapping side and also a strong smell of bad hygiene so I didn’t like it one bit and I’m disappoint and will take it further as I paid so much money and travelled from Birmingham for nothing
Amazing show with a brillant cast. I got several times goosebumps and it was unbelievable. I enjoyed every single second of it. This show was a dream come true 😍 i highly recommend it to everyone!
Love it 🥰
Really enjoyed it, the animals were fantastic. Loved every minute of it.
Amazing!!! Would recommend this to everyone to go and see. Will definitely be going again and taking my kids as they will love it.
Fantastic costumes, stagework and lighting all combined to make this show a 'must see'. Needless to say the songs and music were brilliant, the humour was also pitched in very cleverly. The only criticism for me was that the the two main songs 'Circle of Life' and 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' could have been more pronounced. For me they were just a little lost. A great experience for us both, Thank You.
Without doubt a brilliant performance by the whole cast
Really enjoyed the show. Lively funny and excellently performed
An awesome show from start to finish
Bought these tickets for my mums birthday. She said it was fantastic and a great experience. The seats were good and she was so thankful.
Well done to all involved super show
I took my 2 children to see this they are 27 & 25 and used to watch the film on repeat when younger, I was unsure that my son would enjoy it as much as his sister however from the moment the curtains went up we was mesmerised by the whole show absolutely fantastic recommend this show to anyone young or old
Took my daughter to see Lion King for her 21st Birthday. An amazing incredible show. We all loved it.
Absolutely fantastic show with amazing vocals especially from the lady who played Rafiki and the adult Narla. The revolving stage is genius altering for different scenes of the show and the appearance/image of Mufasa was incredible! The show had us gripped from start to finish and would highly recommend! Tips: get there 45 mins before to avoid getting stuck in a congestion of people and as soon as the curtain comes down for the interval run to the toilets as the queue is extremely loooong!
Magnificent choreography, voices incredible, music superb....every part of the show was amazing. Loved every moment ...have seen it twice ! Best of musicals
Absolutely brilliant show!
The show was fantastic!
Absolutely amazing! Very cleverly put together and the effects were brilliant.
Lovely time with my girlfriend. She enjoyed it as much a lot and would recommend everyone to see it
The Lion King has been on my husband's bucket list for years. In honesty, I presumed that I would enjoy it, but I had no clue how wonderful I would find it, especially by comparison to other performances we have seen, from Riverdance, Starlight Express to The Nutcracker. I booked us in to see it with our 3 teenagers, aged 13 - 16. The stage sets, costumes and make-up were wonderful. The energy from every cast member and musician was electrifying. The emotions and overall message that the entire production conveyed though was outstanding. This is absolutely my favourite production by far. This was echoed by my husband, son and two daughters. I would highly recommend The Lion King to everyone. This truly is a must-see and I am looking forward to watching it again.
Too expensive for the seats we were allocated.
Excellent - costumes performance, both my daughters thoroughly enjoyed their first West End show.
I laughed, cried and smiled all the way through. Truly incredible.
Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Wanted to cry all the way through with how it made me feel. So emotional and breath taking and incredibly well done! Better than I could have ever imagined.
I and Thalia van der Doef had one hell of an Amazing experience ... Breathtaking ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Costumes, stage effect, equipments, dance, songs were just absolutely fabulous. Never seen anything like it. My preteen boys loved it too.
It was truly amazing from begining to end, loved it all. Would even like to thank all the people that do all the props ect. I bought the tickets for my friends 60th birthday and she was so pleased, and enjoyed it every bit as much as I. Thankyou
