Mischief Theatre collaborate with co-writers for the first time as they bring their new show Magic Goes Wrong, created with stage legends Penn and Teller, to the London stage as part of the company’s year-long residency at the Vaudeville Theatre.
The creators of The Play That Goes Wrong and The Comedy About A Bank Robbery have collaborated with Penn and Teller, whose successful double act has seen rise to become one of the world’s biggest magic acts selling out venues in London and the US. It is the next ‘Goes Wrong’ comedy in the West End after Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Play That Goes Wrong.
Magic Goes Wrong will see the original company return to star in the show, which has been written by Penn Jillette, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, Henry Shields and Teller, and it will be directed by Adam Meggido. Penn and Teller will not be appearing on stage.
Once again a superb performance by the Company. Side splitting laughter throughout the Theatre.
Having seen all the mischief groups plays in the past and found them to be brilliantly performed with perfect timing and excellent entertainment, the MAGIC GOES WRONG did not disappoint, well done it was worth the journey from the NE of England and back the next day.
As someone who was lucky enough to see Tommy Cooper at his best and also Penn and Teller at theirs. I can honestly say that this show has it all, it really is a belly laugh from start to finish. After seeing all this companies productions, this is their greatest so far.
In short, the most fun and the most I have laughed ever at the theatre. Or at a magic show .
Really enjoyed the show, it was extremely funny. I would highly recommend watching when Magic Goes Wrong.
Don't need to say much other than we laughed nearly all the way through, and the mind mangler was hilarious especially when interacting with the audience
Amazing show. A fantastic cast who have the most perfect comedy timing.
We went to see the show and loved it! Look forward to seeing one of the other ‘plays that goes wrong’ soon!
Loved this play. Have been to see most of the Mischief theatre plays and this one did not disappoint. Excellent audience interaction.
Loved the show, we laughed the whole way through. We saw The show that went wrong last year and were not disappointed with this show.
I have not Laughed so much since I was born, the cast are outstanding, it’s totally family entertainment with hysterical interaction between the cast and audience, every cast member in there own sketches and as a group we’re pure quality, we are now going to book and see the Play Goes Wrong. Thank you for an very entertaining evening.
Brilliant Mischief Company. Apologies I ought to know his name but the guy who played the Mind Reader - please lets see more of you on Radio & Tv.. These Actors are superb & the Mischief Company cheer so many of ourselves up. I wish they were pals of mine. My life in London is happier watching their Plays . This one was not as funny/ good as the other plays I have seen. However it was still good & Thank you for cheering me up. Bless every one involved . Kindest Regards Alan in South Woodford
Slapstick comedy- light entertainment requiring limited concentration! Very enjoyable fun production- another First Class for this amazing Mischief team.
Have LOVED the previous “goes wrong” plays and particularly enjoyed the recent “Groan Ups”. However, despite some funny moments like the lady being sawn in half, I didn’t feel this lived up the same standard as the others and lacked a good story. Would still see other plays released by this company though.
Cheap jokes, performers were decent though. No story just tasteless magician mishaps. Seversl people left early. I wouldn't bother
Left at half time, zero value for money
Fantastic play, seen all the 'Goes Wrong' plays by Mischief. Never disappoints, always funny, always a great time spent
As expected this is a excellent show some of the obviously unscripted things were very funny even the camera man was laughing and how many time has he seen this. Best of luck for the future and I can wait for the next new show.
Mischief theatre company are to be commended for their enthusiasm passion and consummate skill in delivering such a difficult genre. The inventive staging and the seemingly effortless rapport with the audience make for an entertaining and enjoyable show. However some of the 'acts' are weaker than others:the two German girls add little to the comedic feel. The modern technology used appealed to the younger members of the audience and the play was extremely well received by the diverse audience.
Hilarious piece to watch. Would definitely go watch it again!
Didn’t stop laughing from start to finish. Brilliant show. Well done Karen Gager for interpreting makes theatre so much more fun and can’t wait for more !!!!
We were 3 adults and 2 teenagers. We all throughly enjoyed, we laughed so much it hurt, and the tears ran down our faces. The mind man we could have watched him all evening, a true showman. Hilarious, exciting and thrilling.
Amazing show. Kept you guessing and laughing the whole way through. I mean what else could go wrong!
What an amazing show.......Laugh out loud from start to finish. Would thoroughly recommend this show.
A very funny and brilliant show. I was totally entertained.
Such a fun night, so funny. We loved the Mind Mengler, all the cast were brilliant. Can't wait for your next show, have seen all the ones up to date. Would love to see an older children Christmas Show.
I would have given this 5 stars but did not consider the two girls prancing about as being of much interest. The bear in Trafalgar Square sequence, at the end of the show, really funny.
Very silly just what was needed
My partner and I went to this yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed it. To make tricks go wrong and make it look authentic i am sure is harder than the lay person imagines. I particularly liked the delivery of the Mind Mangler ( mind mind mind!!!) I think Tommy Cooper would be proud of it.
Amazing show, it was a total joy. Laughing out loud throughout, and watching my son and his girlfriend doing the same. Cannot recommend enough
As always the crew have put on a fantastic show. May they continue writing and performing new shows in the future.
The team always leave me and my family in stitches! Great value for money and a life saver Christmas present!
Excellant show. The cast kept us amused from preshow. Very well produced and acted. Great entertainment. Would thoroughly recommend
Amazing show, lots of laughs and the story line was great! Well done
Very entertaining. They engaged the audience as usual, particularly those close to the front. The illusions were very convincing and hilarious. An excellent outing for the family.
