The Snail and the Whale
The Snail and the Whale
Are you ready to set sail this Christmas?
Join an adventurous young girl and her seafaring father as they reimagine the story of a tiny snail’s incredible trip around the world, inspired by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved picture book.
Longing to see the world, a tiny sea snail hitches a lift on the tail of a great big, grey-blue humpback whale. Together they go on an amazing journey, brought vividly to life through live music, storytelling and lots of laughs - but when the whale gets beached, how will the snail save him?
A heart-warming adventure for everyone aged four and up, from Tall Stories, the Olivier Award-nominated company that brought you ‘The Gruffalo’ and ‘Room on the Broom’ live on stage.

A fantastic show by a very hardworking cast. My daughter was absolutely spellbound and was laughing and clapping along with everything. Thoroughly recommended!

Delightful telling of this story by way of a child’s memories of her merchant seaman father. Dad told his daughter bedtime stories and made pretend worlds using furniture. The adult daughter is the narrator and violinist. I cried at the end. Very moving 4 yr old niece loved it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this charming adaption of ‘The Snail & the Whale’. The actors were lively and engaging without every being annoyingly over-enthusiastic (a common blight on children’s shows). I was impressed with the clever use of props to create the scenery (especially the Whale) and I loved the use of the violin to create the soundscape and effects. I went with my 2 year old daughter and she was transfixed from start to finish. As was I.

We had a great time. The show was really lovely and the actors trully did a great job with the audience and kept the children entretained. My son laughed and laughed so hard. He said that was the best and wants toncome back again. What a great show. I would recommend taking your little one to watch they will LOVE IT .
