The Drifters Girl tickets
Queen of British Soul and West End leading lady Beverley Knight stars in the world premiere of a brand new musical The Drifters Girl, with the sensational Adam J Bernard (Dreamgirls), Tarinn Callender (Hamilton), Matt Henry (Kinky Boots) and Tosh Wanogho-Maud (Showboat).
Discover the remarkable story of The Drifters, one of the world’s greatest vocal groups, and the truth about the woman who made them. Beverley Knight stars as Faye Treadwell, the legendary manager of The Drifters, who, alongside her husband, fought for three decades to turn Atlantic Records' hottest vocal group into a global phenomenon.
From the highs of hit records and sell out tours to the lows of legal battles and personal tragedy, The Drifters Girl charts the trailblazing efforts of the world’s first African American, female music manager and how she refused to ever give up on the group she loved. Thirty years, and hundreds of hit songs later, there is no doubt that Faye Treadwell was and always will be, The Drifters Girl.
With an unbelievable soundtrack of some of the most iconic songs in history, including Save The Last Dance For Me, Under The Boardwalk, Kissin’ In The Back Row Of The Movies, Stand By Me, Come On Over To My Place And Saturday Night At The Movies.
The Drifters Girl reviews
Amazing show - perfect voices - brilliant acting - we had an absolute hoot! pity no encore medley that would have topped it off! Would definitely see again
Fantastic show, feel good, great music and songs bringing back good memories, disappointed that Beverly knight was not in show.
There are only 6 in the cast and they are amazing how they flow from one character into anther. Love the maid!!
Absolutely brilliant, enjoyed every minute. All cast are very talented. Well worth the ticket price.
Excellence show
A truly wonderful piece of musical theatre..vibrant, excellent performances: singing and dancing of the highest quality..difficult topics dealt with in a humorous and honest way..very moving..exceptional energy by all 6 members of the cast..only 6 people and yet the stage is always alive: panache..the songs live with you; the dances just flow..the story is invigorating and told beautifully..A must see show..I’m going back..
The show was amazing. Didn’t realise the history behind the forming of the Drifters. Only complaint, at times couldn’t understand Beverly Knight as she had a very strong southern American accent.
Last night after spending £132:00 we were treated to a garbled mess and a total waste of talent. Beverly Knight can sing and the cast could sing and dance, but their efforts were wasted with a load pseudo Southern Fried Chicken gibberish which was painful to listen to. The Drifters sound is iconic, but this show did nothing to celebrate it. I would be amazed if it were around in a month's time
Had a great evening music was first class! Got confused when the guys were playing more than one part! Could have used the understudies to play some of the other roles. Wished there was an opportunity at the end to stand and sing along and for more than one well known song.
Too much talking in an American accent , not enough singing . When they did sing they were great . Would of been better just a show with them singing . I didn’t feel after the show Wow I need to go again unlike the Jersey Boys or Grease .. Need a better selection of beers .
Fantastic vocals and a story well told. A happy night and greatly entertained.
Beverly Knight can SIIINNNGGGGG
The 5 cast were just beyond fabulous- the story line was easy to follow and the the talent in their focal story was insane! We loved it!!!
Super show, Beverly can still sing her socks off. Good to find that the drummer was in the background, not dominating the vocals, as has been found in other performances we have been to. Would recommend it.
We had a great evening watching the musical Drifters Girl. Beverley Knight was effortless with her amazing voice. The Drifters group were fantastic all unique voices it’s a must see feel good show!!
The performance was good for what I got to see of it.
Great show,Beverley Knight excelled in the lead role, and each of her co cast mates could easily top the bill in their own right. Has to be the best musical story I've seen to date.....Fabulous. All Theatre staff were so kind and helpful, thank you all.
I really enjoyed the show. Fantastic singers all with great voices
Story line a little weak but the quality of the music more than made up for that. The stage sets were incredible and really contributed to the overall enjoyment of the show.
Brilliant show. Understudy girl was amazing and singing us just awesome. Wonderful voices and so much energy. Can really recommend this show
This was a fabulous show, it brought back a lot of memories from my teenage years. However this show is suitable for young and old. Beverley Knight’s voice was outstanding not forgetting the other actors who were multi-talented in their acting & powerful singing voices. A show which makes you laugh & cry. The staff in the theatre were helpful, jolly & made us very welcomed.
If you are a fan of the Drifters - this is a trip down memory Lane with many sing a long favourites! Beverley Knight is absolutely fantastic!!!!
The singers were amazing as was the choreography. A really enjoyable performance.
I bought tickets for my wife's birthday as she loves this sort of thing. I dont like Jukebox musicals and am not a fan of the Drifters but thoroughly enjoyed it. Bev Knight as great as you would expect but the 4 lads were a revelation. Not only stunning voices but brilliant comic actors too. Reviews say clunky script & not telling the full story yeah true but if you want educating read a book, its a musical for chrissakes, chill & have fun
Brilliant show shame about no on core
Brilliant show loved every minute.
The performance was excellent and story portrayed was clear to follow.
Although I was disappointed that Beverley Knight was not available on the night I went her stand in was outstanding. The music was brilliant and I had a job to stay in my seat but I did sing along with the songs. I highly recommend this show.
We went with visiting family to see the show. It was a great story and all the old Drifters songs were included. The actors were very good and all played multiple roles. Would definitely recommend it for a fun night out.
Excellent
Throughly enjoyed the Drifters Girl, I was a big fan in the 70’s but had no idea of the story behind the group. Beverley Knight gave a stunning vocal performance, would definitely recommend the show for fans of the Drifters.
