The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society are putting on a 1920s murder mystery, but as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong... does! The accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences!
Given 5 stars from The Daily Mail, called a ‘Gut-busting hit' by the New York Times and with celebrity endorsements from the likes of Ant and Dec as the 'funniest show we've seen! If you can get a ticket go’, what are you waiting for?
Now stumbling through its fourth catastrophic year, THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG is guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter!

I FEARED I WAS GOING TO HYPERVENTILATE – THE DAILY MAIL
We well worth the effort to travel to the West End for this show. Two hours of great entertainment ~ make sure you arrive early as the show starts before the ticket time no more said about that.
I booked payment protection on these tickets and have emailed and tried to call every day for a week to request cancellation. I have had no response. Please return my money ASAP. We did not go to the show as to have done so at this time would have been irresponsible.
This is the second time we have come to see The Play that Goes Wrong. This time we took my 9 year old son and friends for his birthday celebration. The boys and us 3 grown ups laughed until tears were on our eyes. Such great comedic timing by the actors and stage crew/ set. The boys said it was “the best day ever!”, and I agree! The other Goes Wrong plays are also genius.
What a fantastic night, we didn't stop laughing from the moment we sat down to the moment we stood up to leave .... would definitely go and see it again. A Brilliant Show :)
If you like slapstick and want to see some of the most ingenious set disasters this is the show for you. The cast seem to be thoroughly enjoying their failures an keep the audience in stitches throughout.
This is the 2nd time I have seen this show and it gets better and better. A must show to go and watch
This was an amazing production. Laughed all the way through the performance. So clever, with lmpeccable timing. So enjoyable.
From the moment we took our seats we knew we were in for a great evening. Whilst we waited for the play to begin, we studied the set and tried to figure out what would happen and when, which was fun in itself. The crew stirred up some audience participation before the curtain was raised, which in turn raised a few laughs. The play was funny, energetic, silly and surprising. There was a little bit of pre-planned audience participation in the play, but the participant wasn’t a plant. Good-natured heckling which resulted in more laughs was expertly shoehorned into the script. I’d definitely go back with my 10 y-o daughter to watch it again.
Haven’t laughed so hard for ages. A real tonic.
A great show, well cast and genuinely funny, great characters and plenty of slapstick and sheer unadulterated hilarity. A great night out!
Loved it so much, still laughing as we left the theatre! Looking forward to seeing more!
The play that goes wrong is slow burner then the laughs flow, then little laughs then lots of laughs. A well thought out production as i was thinking how it would play out in a small theatre but pleasantly surprised and the actors were energetic and fun to watch, the expressions the pauses wow would recommend everyone to go see this play. Actors deserved full applause they received at the end of the performance. The actress who came into the bar before the performance asking if we had seen the dog and to check under our seats when we went into the seating area, threw me, but then clocked what she mean't, and when my dad said he read in the program about the dog, the actress thanked us for supporting the production/play was a nice touch!
A great comedy, if you are into this type of farces. It has its awkward moments and its slow downs but overall is hilarious. Action starts normal, things are falling apart and at some point you are not sure how the hell those actors follow this well organized plan to produce this kind of mess. I found myself crying of laughter during the peak of the "plot". Overall it was two hours well spent.
I have watched this play twice now and its brilliant. We laughed all the way through. I would definitely recommend it
Our seats were double booked so we didn't even get to see the play. It completely ruined my autistic son's 16th birthday.
Amazing show! Didn't stop laughing from the minute we sat down in the auditorinm to the minute we left. 2 adults, 17 year old and a 10 year old all felt the same.
I was expecting a more intelligent and witty humor. Fiund it too silly and predictable. Second act got a bit better.
An extremely funny play with great acting - it has to be harder to get it wrong so well as opposed to simply getting it right! Actors enjoying themselves - audience enjoying themselves; it's what it's all about. Go and see and have a lot of fun.
Absolutely brilliant never laughed so much, 10/10
Very funny play, a real belly laugh tonic.
Excellent experience for the whole family. Cried with laughter from start to finish.
We had reasonably high expectations, which can be dangerous, however, this delivered. Silly, superbly crafted, interactive. Genuinely, a proper giggle 😁
Funny but not too much Good physical commedy
I had read this was a funny play and booked to see it on a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon. It certainly lived up to its reputation! I thought the actors were extremely talented, the set designers were geniuses, the scripts really clever and I and my neighbours were crying with laughter throughout. I was watching the families around me and children, teens and adults all were enjoying it.
This is my second time seeing Play that Goes Wrong and it was just as good, if not better, than the first time!! The cast are just endlessly funny and the physical and special effects comedy is utter genius! I will continue to recommend it and we're currently trying to book for their other two shows on the West End.
One of the best nights out I’ve had in the west end. My girlfriend and I we laughing throughout. The comedy, improvisation and comedic timing was first class. Will be seeing their other productions in London!! Go and see it!
We took our 10 year old and 8 year old to see the show. We all thoroughly enjoyed. Laughed from the minute we sat down to the minute we left.
Always a good fun play to attend
You will leave the theatre with a big smile after laughing soo much!
My husband and I loved this play, the cast had us laughing just sitting in the bar and waiting for the show to begin. Loved every minute of it and top marks to all of the cast for their fabulous performances. We have not laughed so much for a long time and would recommend this show to all who enjoy a good, fun night out. P.S. hope the dog turned up!
Hilariously funny, brilliant acting and thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
Light hearted and very funny. Would have given it five stars but once or twice they rather laboured the joke but not to the extent that I was in any way irritated. Would like to see their other productions.
This was very funny, although it seemed "predictable" in parts. The plot was "thin", but this didn't detract from the "wrong bits"!
Very funny, laughing all the way. Enerjectic and a well timed farce!
great show, well worth the money, laugh out loud humour
I booked the tickets not knowing what to expect. Upon seeing the tv show I was a bit disappointed hoping the theatre show would be better. When we arrived we were asked, in the theatre, if we had found a dog under our seats (this was part of the performance). The show started and from start to finish I couldn’t stop laughing. It was so funny I just wanted more when it finished. Well worth watching
Absolutely hilarious slapstick comedy from start to finish, brilliantly performed by a great cast and would 100 per cent go and see it again, can't recommend it enough!!!
Utterly hilarious! A great end to the working week. A real Friday treat
Brilliant comedy Outstanding acting Highly recommended. Excellent evening entertainment.
Amazing show with lots of laughs and would definitely recommend
Brilliant night of perfect comic timing and great actors who gave 110% to the production. A treat to watch
The play is hillarious! The actors are doing funny stuff before, after and of course during the play. I was laughing the whole time. Awesome experience!
A humdinger of a show which had many rolling in their seats with laughter. A special treat, a special show. Mt wife and I also appreciated the interest and care of the staff, from the security guys outside in the rain who were courteous in their task, to the box office who offered preferential seats to us as our seating had a restrictive view. We will come again and sample another such show. M&P
It was great. Timing was exceptional, I laughed all the way through.
My wife and I had already seen the ‘Bank robbery that goes wrong’ and having thoroughly enjoyed this we’re thrilled that this play was equally as entertaining, excellent.
One of the funniest plays I've seen
Felt like a school play. Repetitive and entirely predictable humour.
A fantastic play which was funny from start to end. It was so clever and made me laugh out loud throughout. The actors interacted with the audience and looked like they really enjoyed performing the play even though they do it daily. I am booking the new show- Magic goes wrong as soon as possible.
amazing - so funny 5 days on we are both still laughing and recommending it to everyone Very clever too
