The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society are putting on a 1920s murder mystery, but as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong... does! The accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences!
Given 5 stars from The Daily Mail, called a ‘Gut-busting hit' by the New York Times and with celebrity endorsements from the likes of Ant and Dec as the 'funniest show we've seen! If you can get a ticket go’, what are you waiting for?
Now stumbling through its fourth catastrophic year, THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG is guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter!
IT’S AS THOUGH THE MOUSETRAP HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY MONTY PYTHON - WHATSONSTAGE
A MASTERPIECE OF MALFUNCTION – THE TIMES
I FEARED I WAS GOING TO HYPERVENTILATE – THE DAILY MAIL
Our seats were double booked so we didn't even get to see the play. It completely ruined my autistic son's 16th birthday.
Amazing show! Didn't stop laughing from the minute we sat down in the auditorinm to the minute we left. 2 adults, 17 year old and a 10 year old all felt the same.
I was expecting a more intelligent and witty humor. Fiund it too silly and predictable. Second act got a bit better.
An extremely funny play with great acting - it has to be harder to get it wrong so well as opposed to simply getting it right! Actors enjoying themselves - audience enjoying themselves; it's what it's all about. Go and see and have a lot of fun.
Absolutely brilliant never laughed so much, 10/10
Very funny play, a real belly laugh tonic.
Excellent experience for the whole family. Cried with laughter from start to finish.
We had reasonably high expectations, which can be dangerous, however, this delivered. Silly, superbly crafted, interactive. Genuinely, a proper giggle 😁
Funny but not too much Good physical commedy
I had read this was a funny play and booked to see it on a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon. It certainly lived up to its reputation! I thought the actors were extremely talented, the set designers were geniuses, the scripts really clever and I and my neighbours were crying with laughter throughout. I was watching the families around me and children, teens and adults all were enjoying it.
This is my second time seeing Play that Goes Wrong and it was just as good, if not better, than the first time!! The cast are just endlessly funny and the physical and special effects comedy is utter genius! I will continue to recommend it and we're currently trying to book for their other two shows on the West End.
One of the best nights out I’ve had in the west end. My girlfriend and I we laughing throughout. The comedy, improvisation and comedic timing was first class. Will be seeing their other productions in London!! Go and see it!
We took our 10 year old and 8 year old to see the show. We all thoroughly enjoyed. Laughed from the minute we sat down to the minute we left.
Always a good fun play to attend
You will leave the theatre with a big smile after laughing soo much!
My husband and I loved this play, the cast had us laughing just sitting in the bar and waiting for the show to begin. Loved every minute of it and top marks to all of the cast for their fabulous performances. We have not laughed so much for a long time and would recommend this show to all who enjoy a good, fun night out. P.S. hope the dog turned up!
Hilariously funny, brilliant acting and thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
Light hearted and very funny. Would have given it five stars but once or twice they rather laboured the joke but not to the extent that I was in any way irritated. Would like to see their other productions.
This was very funny, although it seemed "predictable" in parts. The plot was "thin", but this didn't detract from the "wrong bits"!
Very funny, laughing all the way. Enerjectic and a well timed farce!
great show, well worth the money, laugh out loud humour
I booked the tickets not knowing what to expect. Upon seeing the tv show I was a bit disappointed hoping the theatre show would be better. When we arrived we were asked, in the theatre, if we had found a dog under our seats (this was part of the performance). The show started and from start to finish I couldn’t stop laughing. It was so funny I just wanted more when it finished. Well worth watching
Absolutely hilarious slapstick comedy from start to finish, brilliantly performed by a great cast and would 100 per cent go and see it again, can't recommend it enough!!!
Utterly hilarious! A great end to the working week. A real Friday treat
Brilliant comedy Outstanding acting Highly recommended. Excellent evening entertainment.
Amazing show with lots of laughs and would definitely recommend
Brilliant night of perfect comic timing and great actors who gave 110% to the production. A treat to watch
The play is hillarious! The actors are doing funny stuff before, after and of course during the play. I was laughing the whole time. Awesome experience!
A humdinger of a show which had many rolling in their seats with laughter. A special treat, a special show. Mt wife and I also appreciated the interest and care of the staff, from the security guys outside in the rain who were courteous in their task, to the box office who offered preferential seats to us as our seating had a restrictive view. We will come again and sample another such show. M&P
It was great. Timing was exceptional, I laughed all the way through.
My wife and I had already seen the ‘Bank robbery that goes wrong’ and having thoroughly enjoyed this we’re thrilled that this play was equally as entertaining, excellent.
One of the funniest plays I've seen
Felt like a school play. Repetitive and entirely predictable humour.
A fantastic play which was funny from start to end. It was so clever and made me laugh out loud throughout. The actors interacted with the audience and looked like they really enjoyed performing the play even though they do it daily. I am booking the new show- Magic goes wrong as soon as possible.
amazing - so funny 5 days on we are both still laughing and recommending it to everyone Very clever too
Very funny comedy, we really enjoyed the show and we are still talking and referencing the days later.
It really Is very funny. A vibrant young cast that clearly enjoy their work. Plenty of slapstick but also some sharp witty dialogue. Something for all the family.
Fantastic show. Very entertaining. Totally recommend.
Really funny all the time and very good timing of the recitation (especially in the quick scenes). Brilliant!
I took two grandchildren who are now too old for Pantomime and they loved it. Lots of hearty laughter throughout. I was impressed that the vibrancy still remains after all the performances they have done - the timing was perfect and the stage management incredible. Well done to all the cast.
Second visit to see this very funny play. Took the granddaughters 12 & 17 who thoroughly enjoyed their evening. The cast worked so hard. Thank you all and congratulations to everyone involved.
Would highly recommend the play was very funny.
Cried? - I almost laughed! . . . . . . no sorry, I mean, Laugh. . . (Optional - please only include information that others will find helpful when choosing a seat)
It took some time to get going. By half time I was chuckling. Some of the acting was good but some not so good. The inspector was the best actor. The Company tried hard. The audience were not all laughing at the right times. Some of the diction was inaudible. We didn’t like the victim’s brother very much. Their hearts were in the right place but some professionalism was lacking. Having paid £50 for 5 tickets I wasn’t happy to be asked for donations at the door on the way out.
The actors are really good, and the play is fun, but the humor is not very interesting. A nice play for kids and teens.
Great nights entertainment. Very funny and a very clever production. Thoroughly recommended.
Actors were great, show itself is very much slap stick humour. In some cases the pauses or jokes could have been sped up a bit. The second half a lot better than the first. Theatre is a great size, not a bad seat.
Brilliant time keeping. Excellent story told in the most of unusual ways. Laughter out loud thoroughly enjoyable. Looking to book for the Bank job that goes wrong.
The premise and the acting were very enjoyable, particularly the first act. I found there was too much slapstick (for my taste) in the second act that bordered on silly. All in all, however, I would recommend this play for a well-rounded evening of entertainment.
