At the Duke of York’s Theatre for FOUR WEEKS ONLY this summer.
Rachel Watson longs for a different life.
Her only escape is the perfect couple she watches through the train window every day, happy and in love. Or so it appears. When Rachel learns that the woman she’s been secretly watching has suddenly disappeared, she finds herself as a witness and even a suspect in a thrilling mystery in which she will face bigger revelations than she could ever have anticipated.
Adapted from Paula Hawkins’ novel – an international phenomenon selling over twenty million copies worldwide – and starring Samantha Womack, this gripping new play will keep you guessing until the final moment.
Samantha Womack has starred extensively in television, film and theatre. She is best known for playing Ronnie Mitchell in BBC1’s EastEnders with leading roles in Mount Pleasant and Game On, and the hit films, The Kingsman series.
★★★★ ‘THIS IS A MUST. DON’T MISS IT’ WhatsOnStage
Cannot recommend this enough for theatre goers. The talent was a given but they were all so friendly afterwards in person. Fantastic set and lighting - £15 ticket had stated that we will have a restricted view but the seats were perfect for the price. Nice terrace bar which is reasonably priced. Great experience overall!
I had read the book and loved it. Wasn’t sure if I would like this as much but I did. It had some humour in it too which I didn’t expect. Great Actors/actresses. Seats were not great but hey ho!
The Girl on the Train is was a well thought out and excellently presented version of a complicated murder mystery. The cast were strong and mutually supportive, particularly Rachel, Tom and the Police Inspector. The sets were also brilliantly done although there were several deviations from the original
I went with 2 mates and we all loved it. The performers were great and the frequent change of scenery amazing.
Brilliantly staged and superbly acted would wholeheartedly recommend anyone seeing this.
I really enjoyed this play. All the cast were really good, especially the lady playing Meghan. True to the book and film. Very cleverly done. Great afternoon.
I saw this yesterday, have previously read the book and seen the film. I felt the casting of the main characters was excellent and the set was cleverly put together. The venue is delightful and intimate and this means you feel more involved with the actors. Would highly recommend both this show and the venue
A great performance, well worth seeing. I enjoyed it far more that the film.
The Girl on the Train: Thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining. Truly evocative, apt scenery settings with wonderful performances. Definitely recommend you go see!
Amazing show- loved every minute!
Great show, very well acted and the set was brilliant.
My friend and I had a wonderful time at the show and were very well looked after. Great night xxx
Overall quite enjoyable, but I found some of the acting a bit stilted.
Samantha Womack played Rachel's character so well. Whilst the play is a thriller, the little humourous parts worked really well to take the edge off!
Show was good, but view was restricted so couldn’t see all of the stage.
I usually go for Musicals, but enjoyed this play.
Great show. Not great seats.
I had no idea how this would transfer to the theatre but the smooth set changes and excellent acting made this a gripping performance.
I was intrigued to see how it would be made into a west end show after reading the book but it was really well done. The only thing was the comedy captions within the play wasn’t sure it fitted in too well but would definitely recommend and glad I’ve seen it.
Excellent show great cast. Samantha Womack portrayl of Rachel so good would definitely recommend.
Superb acting and very interesting to the end!
We really enjoyed watching the girl on the train. Great actors and done very good.
Was a bit apprehensive after seeing a 2 star review by a critic, but was very pleasantly surprised to find that he must have been elsewhere. Great show. Well adapted to the stage & held the suspense to the end . Great stage sets .
Well acted and a brilliant performance.
Having read an unfavourable review in the Evening Standard on the tube on the way to the theatre I had my reservations beforehand but I actually really enjoyed it. I’d seen the film a while ago and the twist at the end came back to me in the first half but this did not spoil the experience. I thought all the actors put on impressive performances and would recommend.
The play had us hooked from the start, with many twists and turns of plot. The cast were excellent, with Samantha Womack a convincing drunk in the main role, supported by equally convincing characterisations.
Good acting by a great cast, well delivered of this gripping suspense thriller!
Great show, lived up to the expectations following the book and film. Samantha Womack plays an excellent part and the concept is cleverly portrayed on stage.
A defo must see Samantha Womack does an incredible job
The play was flowing very well, enjoyed the acting very much. Different story. Absolutely worth going to see it.
It was very good. Having read the book thought it would be hard to translate to stage but very well done
Very well told story. Terrific!
I really enjoyed this play. I’ve seen the film and isn’t quite the same but I really liked it nonetheless.
Very disappointing. The stage set was lacking in thought with little if any detail to the repetitive imagery of the importance of the train. It is a thriller but ended with cheap laughs that degraded the story line. Other than the inspectors character the main actor was lacking and at times lost. The rest of the cast quite lack lustred. An uninspiring play. A great shame. If you hadn’t read the book you wouldn’t know what was happening-poor screenplay.
Great atmosphere, great acting, great story!
After loving the book I was excited to see it in the theatre. I was so disappointed though. I thought the acting was pretty poor, the writing was poor and it felt like we didn’t see enough of the full story to capture the full essence of the book. I know you can never guarantee the star actress will be in it, but no Samantha Womack which was the first draw to go and see it. Very sad to leave a bad review but it’s honestly what I felt.
Watched yesterday’s matinee and thoroughly enjoyed it. The leading lady was excellent, she brought Rachel to life so well. A great cast, well worth a watch.
Not very impressed seem to drag, seemed longer than very impressive 3 and a half hour play that I saw last week
I read the book and I saw the film. I was so curious how they will be able to add the train into the play and they did very well. I went with a friend and we enjoyed it a lot! Ver well done.
Brilliant show, well acted, especially Samantha Womack. Great staying and creativity. Gripping storyline with twists that keep you unsure right up until the end.
As were the other actors. I was a bit confused by the storyline at the end of the play but the cast were great x
Absolutely fantastic play, amazing actors - would recommend........
