We really enjoyed the Immersive Experience. The visual effects and the sound quality were excellent. As were the other galleries.

i’ve been to multiple live Van Gogh experiences over the years, yet this one just seemed to be a tad basic . the whole concept is very interesting and the immersive cameras are very well used. however for £15 each i would’ve hoped it would have had a bit more of his history shown rather than just flicking through his most popular work. The exhibit afterwards just had a few display boards regarding different pieces. Overall if you are willing to spend £15 go for it , others may completely disagree but in comparison to other exhibits this one is very basic .

This was my 2nd visit as I loved the first one so much. I can recommend the virtual reality experience at the end. I felt I was wandering through the paintings- it was magical.

Great to see Van Gogh’s work in a new and immersive way. We arrived a little early but it was fine. The show is on a continuous loop so you can leave when you want to. The 360 VR experience was an extra £3 but well worth the money. It was the best part!

The immersive part of the experience was clearly the virtual reality part which was absolutely fantastic - and to me and my grandkids worth paying an extra£3 per person - however for those that did not use this add on experience (at the extra cost) I feel the exhibition was a bit of a let down - all they really had was moving paintings of vangoghs ( some of which were very good) with some rather tedious music

A real treat for the senses. Beautifully done and colours were really vibrant. Suited the Church really well. Seating with cushioned benches or even deckchairs made it relaxing and immersive, in the truest sense of the word. Very enjoyable.

I loved it but it was colder inside than it was outside, heating is a must if you want people to come to see it, there were not many others there! The idea is superb though and the exhibition in the exit area was good too, but it was spoiled by the freezing temperature!

Wow, it was very impressive. Loved how they used technology to use his art work into the immersive experience. So much to take in, we watched part of the immersive experience twice just to see it all. The exhibition was great too. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Great show - but pretty cold in the church where we were sat for 30 mins . The VR was great - more room to read and view paintings afterwards would be better. Surprised that stairs/steps on exit weren't gritted! It was very icy!

A well presented introduction to van Gogh’s life and work and good followup in the adjacent room. However, a little disappointing for myself and my guests from Provence as we all have considerable knowledge of his work and are privileged to have seen originals in various international museums. Nevertheless, definitely worthwhile to give access to great art more widely to an uninitionated audience.

Myself and my partner visited while on a holiday away and it was such a nice tranquil breakaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was a lovely experience to be immersed in all the colours and the music and to just sit and take it all in. Highly recommend but definitely not for everyone.

Enjoyed. 3D visual not to be missed. Difficulty when trying to swap tickets and couldn’t find age for Snr Citizens anywhere. It’s 60 if anyone needs to know. The staff lovely they allowed us to use the visual because we had overpaid the ticket price.

Looking forward to the experience, checked in and sat down on the very rickety deck chairs....decided to move to the side benches but these were uncomfortable, many people were moving about in an attempt to find a comfortable seat. The event was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would have marked it 5 star if not for the seats.

We were immersed in a new & most interesting, therapeutic experience. A fabulous way to view and consider art (not usually my thing) - the projections are amazing, and fit very well with building in which they are displayed The life history of Van Gogh is also illustrated and linked with his paintings An interesting and worthwhile hour

This was the best thing we saw on our visit to York. So clever. I’ve always admired Van Goghs work but this immersive experience just enhanced the whole exhibition. So hard to describe - you just have to go and see it for yourself.

Throughly enjoyed the Van Gogh experience in York yesterday, I would have preferred to see the gallery of Van Goghs paintings and the information on his life and works prior to going into the immersive experience instead of after.

I’d been wanting to see this for a while and got the chance I unexpectedly on a visit to York. I took my 7 year old who aspires to be an artist, and she loved it. I didn’t expect her to sit for the whole 35 minutes but she did, and really enjoyed the whole atmosphere. She drew her own minimalist version of Starry Night afterwards, then we tried the VR experience too, which was absolutely stunning. Would love to go again.

Van Gogh for the Tik Tok generation? Several very bored infants running wild. Would not recommend for Adults. If you have £15 to spend on Van Gogh, a good biography or the Letters to Theo would be a better buy.

I had heard good things about the experience before seeing it for myself. Not disappointed. Very well done, enjoyable to watch and relaxing at the same time. I recommend the optional VR experience at the end which was great. It was nice to see the wall of people's Van Gogh pictures and have the chance to colour or draw your own. Some steps to negotiate but does have access for wheelchairs. Very friendly and approachable staff.

It was a really nice activity to do on a rainy Sunday in York. However £15 was way too expensive for a 35 min projection.

It was an excellent experience. It was such an insight into the paintings, mind and life of Vincent Van Gogh. Eye opening to say the least.
