This is the second time I’ve seen this and I was blown away . You feel like you have been transported into a world where his paintings are the real world around you and the music they have chosen goes harmoniously with this fact . The history about Van Gogh is very interesting as well and I like the fact that the 3 d immersive experience felt like there was no beginning, middle or end so you ended you up watching lots of times and sitting in different positions in the room where you notice different things . Reality. headsets which I choose to do was also very educational

Really enjoyed the immersive experience in Leicester - wonderfully evocative. Really informative about Van Gogh and a fantastic opportunity to experience his work. Do wrap up warm as the church is cold!

The experience is great if you do not suffer from rapid change of images The screens change so quickly at times, it sent me and my friend dizzy, sickly and unbalanced… It is very cleverly done. In the immersion room. But the small corridor to look at information, was narrow and the display too high to look at xx

We arrived a little early but there was no issue and we were allowed to go straight in. The atmosphere was right as soon as you entered the first room. Classical music was playing throughout and every painting had information. The first interactive was Flowers I sat mesmerised as his paintings changed in colours to depict each picture he drew. The main event was 35 mins of his paintings coming alive with narration and movement, it is on a loop so you start until you have seen everything. Again the music and the artistry involved was spectacular. But there was a final treat in store. We paid extra for the VR experience and it was worth every penny again this was the first time I have used this and it was an experience I will never forget. The favourite paintings came alive and I was part of them.

This is the fourth time I have been to the Van Gogh Experience as I love it so much. This time I came with my daughter and sister who is in a wheelchair. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. She could experience it all. The church is the perfect setting for it, the music and ambience create a relaxing and exciting atmosphere and overall it gives a faithful impression of this tragic artist’s life.

We had a lovely hour learning all about Van Gogh - learnt things we didn't already know. Some clever emersive experiences await you as you arrive with some information about his life (a little too much reading for the teen but he enjoyed the art work). After that you move onto the main hall with the 360 moving images and we really could have spent much longer relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere but we had a table booked for lunch. Would definately recommend and possible try for a return visit maybe at one of the other locations. Very cleverly put together, you almost forget you are in a church.

Went with a friend then took my grandson. Learnt so much we weren't told at school and loved the way it's put together. Will probably go again just to make sure I enjoyed it

Loved this experience...how cleverly put together.and well worth paying the extra £3 for the immersive vcr session at end...this was awesome!

Simply lovely time plus got to draw my own version of a Van Gogh🌻

Well organised and really lovely staff. It really was 'immersive'. We loved the VR too. Very informative about the short life of this troubled man. Art was superbly shown. Just one thing about accessibility. Entrance door is at a very difficult angle to negotiate on a mobility scooter, but it is possible to go in the back door if you don't mind going to the start against all the people walking through the one way system.

Was very interesting and enjoyable. My 12,9 and 6 year old really enjoyed it especially the vr bit. I would definitely recommend and would come again.

I really enjoyed the event. Lots to learn and experience. I am not local to Leicester and I didn't see anything showing me where the event was being held and how to get there.

Can highly recommend the whole experience

Wow! What a great experience! Starts off low key with a normal exhibition about his life, illustrated with pictures of his paintings. There's also a replica of his bedroom in Arles, and a short documentary on his painting style. The main exhibition is the immersive part. This is on a loop so you don't miss anything. Our venue had a settee, a few chairs, and some deckchairs. You can also stand. Wherever you are, and wherever you sit, it washes over you, and you experience everything. We thought it was excellent value for the price. We didn't pay the £3 per head extra for the VR experience (which is on the way out). But this was solely due to the fact we are OAPS with glasses, and weren't sure if the headsets would fit over them. Would love to go again. We went to Leicester.

The Van Gogh Immersive Experience was something I'd had recommended to me by friends and left far too long to visit. From the beginning it was clear that the curation of this exhibition was going to be amazing. In the very first room, a fascinating display of all the vases of flowers that Van Gogh had painted kept me enthralled as I watched each painting develop into the next, the 3D vase keeping a central point of reference, with colours blending and changing in a lengthy cycle. Walking into the reconstruction of the bedroom in Arles, familiar from so many images, was surreal. Then the main room, the full 'Immersive Experience ' was amazing, but I will give no spoilers! The Virtual Reality section was well worth the extra small cost. Fabulous all round!

The immersive experience was lovely in the main room, and the information and pictures to that point were very satisfying. It was a shame to find the VR goggles at the end were extra, when we’d bought a ticket. We felt that should have been included.

Truly lovely way to see his work. Staff were very welcoming. Only problem was people standing in front of screens to have their photo taken

Loved the no pressure experience, informative, relaxing and enjoyable

Being someone who really likes Van Gogh's painting and being told about it by a friend, it was a must see. I was not diasappointed. Congratulations to the team who devised it all. My only thought was that there were no adult paperbacks or hardbacks about his life. I would have bought one.

The first section of the exhibition is both informative and stimulating, telling as it does, both the artist's sad and eventually tragic life story and explaining beautifully the brilliance of his art. Vangogh's bed sitting room being particularly interesting item. The secong part of the exhibition which is a sound a light experience is a wonderful visual and phonic delight. And finally for a small extra outlay one can don a virtual reality headset and actually enter into the artists world and walk through some of gis paintings Quite extraordinary

We really enjoyed this. The staff were lovely and the main exhibit was quite breath taking. Something me and my Girls won’t forget. Plus the VR experience was fantastic. It was an extra £3 but so worth it. Quite magical

Little underwhelming for the cost to be honest. The main room with Emerson’s experience was ok - in other places it’s been in larger areas so it’s been more spectacular. But other than that very little else to see. Also the staff at entrance very bored and unenthusiastic which doesn’t help.

It was an experience different to any other , the music , the church setting and amazing paintings were all together a very emotional and moving experience. I came away feeling very calm . Absolutely worth a visit

At long last, we finally got some tickets to see the Van Gogh experience. It didn't disappoint....from the information and story about Vincent, through to the immersive exhibition where his paintings came alive. Sitting surrounded by beautiful art with very moving music playing ,then to actually BE in the paintings themselves by using the VR headset. If you have not been but are thinking of going....YOU MUST!! You won't regret it .

Words cannot express how amazing this experience is. Being a lover of Van Gogh’s work it was a truly special experience and informative too. The virtual reality was beyond fabulous actually being in my favourite painting. I will do it again soon as I loved it so much.

Absolutely amazing experience. Enjoyed every minute- so beautifully exhibited. But so cold - blankets needed.
Mar 6, 2023
Good overview of his life, film of flowers in vases was excellent. Some of the "immersive" sets were a bit long, but overall very good. You need to wear warm clothes, it's cold sitting around for 35 minutes in the main hall.
Mar 5, 2023
A wonderful experience , a bit chilly but blankets were provided and amazing age groups. Can’t wait for another one
Feb 28, 2023
So pleased I visited the experience, enjoyed it and found it very interesting learning about Van Gogh and his life. The only negative was how cold it was inside the exhibition.
Feb 27, 2023
I went on a quiet Sunday to the immersive experience and fortunately for us it was really quiet- just my partner, myself and another family. The venue itself was small and intimate but enough for it to be immersive. There were benches to sit and enjoy the art and the music was very relaxing
Feb 21, 2023
Some very clever animations and quite entertaining, it was ok a different way to spend an afternoon

Attended Sunday 19 February. Booked for myself and my stepdaughter who recreated the skeleton in her year 11 artwork. We really loved it ! The information about Van Gogh is great and the life he lead. The vases exhibit was incredible .. there is a short documentary and a replica room exhibit of "the bedroom". There is an extra charge of £3.00 to have the VR experience and I would urge everyone to do that part it really is amazing. It is however not the experience you "see" in the advert ...at least not at Leicester ...but nonetheless it was super. The colouring room is fun too we both enjoyed trying our hand at the sunflowers and starry night and seeing other visitors pictures too. The exhibition itself is good and we loved the immersive room the most. You may take photos and videos which I did and they will be great memories. Such a great idea all round with a cute gift shop with some lovely memorabilia....not too expensive .. £6.00 for a large poster in a sturdy cardboard tube and £15.00 for a really lovely quality tote bag.... Happy step daughter and happy me! Caroline

Excellent. Beautiful calm surroundings. Beautifully done.
Feb 19, 2023
The digital experience was really good, the best bit for me was the VR, which was a £3 extra charge , this is after the main room .
Feb 19, 2023
The price is very high compared to the lenght and quality of the exhibition. Only few rooms to visit and the main room consists of a video of 30 minutes projected on the four walls. It is very nice but that's all. And the place is also very cold. The 3d experience is not even included in the price of the ticket but it costs 3£ extra.
Feb 12, 2023
The last room was awesome
Feb 12, 2023
I was probably expecting something more but overhaul my 13 and 15 year old daughters loved it and I highly recommend the virtual at the end of the tour, even tho it’s an extra £3 per person, and that swayed it from 3 to 4 star rating, but bearing in mind I had no interest in Van Gough I took my daughters, but I found it interesting and educational. Defiantly glad I went.
Feb 9, 2023
A lovely experience, thank you. An interesting one-off visual display. Don’t miss the VR viewing.
Feb 7, 2023
A thoroughly interesting and enlightening experience. Beautiful and extremely well done.
Feb 6, 2023
A fantastic experience. I can recommend to anyone. Wonderful venue.
Jan 30, 2023
The exhibition focuses on Van Gogh’s mental health & not all the information is accurate - epilepsy is not a mental health condition! Regardless, the immersive experience is beautiful. But wrap up warm, it is very cold in the church.
Jan 29, 2023
Set in church in Leics. Far too cold to spend appropriate time to enjoy experience.
Jan 29, 2023
We loved Van Gogh experience, it is definitely something worth to see and feel
Jan 29, 2023
Worst experience, we came all the way to leicester from sheffield, only to know there’s been a powercut due to which the show’s had been cancelled for the entire day. We hadn’t been informed about this priorly, if we would have, we could have chosen not to come at all! Plus it was my friend’s birthday, so the entire day was ruined.
Jan 23, 2023
Go through into this presentation with an open mind and you will enjoy and learn, about Van Gough's work and aspects of his life . The VR section is particularly good at this. A warning, wrap up warm; the building is bitingly cold!
Jan 23, 2023
If it’s cold out Seidel dress up warm for this experience and you will enjoy the amazing art without distraction!
Jan 23, 2023
Brilliant experience. Didn’t expect it to be so good. The VR part was brilliant.
Jan 22, 2023
I am not a great art lover but this was fantastic. Extremely well done and the VR experience was fantastic.
Jan 22, 2023
It was very good, enjoyable, calm, tranquil and interesting.
