I wasn’t sure what to expect. The majority of RSC productions I’ve seen have been of Shakespeare’s plays and this was something else altogether! The puppeteers was wonderful as were the numerous stage sets and the main actors - well, ALL the actors but particular praise to the actor playing Mae. A really entertaining evening. A pantomime for grownups. 😊

This was mine and my wife’s 2nd sitting for Totoro, this time with 2 of our children, and it was just as magical as the 1st time, our children absolutely loved it, from beginning to end. If you are interested or enjoy anime and get the chance to go, definitely do it, you will not be disappointed.

I was suddenly nervous about seeing this as I wondered how it could possibly be anywhere near as good as the film. Well, I couldn’t stop smiling throughout and I thought it was expertly produced and acted. Truly magical and beautiful and added a new dimension to the film for me. I couldn’t rate it higher!

Everything about this production is fantastic - the clever sets, the puppetry, the actors and the atmospheric music. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and would recommend this to anyone who loves the film, or wants to have their heart lifted by a story of friendship. Absolutely mesmerising and magical

This show was really beautiful. Although there is not much of a story - the characters are all very lovable and the animatronics were just amazing. True stage magic executed to perfection.

I went to see the show with my 5 year old daughter and my husband. It brought up so much of my childhood memories as well as becoming sentimental being a mother to a daughter like Mei-chan and Satsuki chan, my eyes were teary all the way through the show. The actors were incredible and the singer's voice was heavenly along with the wonderful orchestra up on the tree house. My 5 yo was absolutely amazed with the puppetry, she also didn't realise Mei and Satsuki characters were played by grown ups, they portray the kids behaviours so well!! hats off to all the staff involved in the show. Truly magical experience. THANK YOU!!
