I've read the book, as had the others in my group whom I went with. Some of my group have experienced the NHS from a patient perspective (like most people) and some of us as nurses working within it. The show was funny, especially the songs. Adam is true to himself and his life as a doctor in his diary readings but the songs reflected a satirical and very funny view of a doctor's role. Overall, very enjoyable but only lasted about an hour and 10 minutes. On a negative side, the theatre was unbearably hot as it had been 33 degrees that day! Although there was a doctor in the house, fortunately his medical expertise was not required as luckily no one passed out in the heat....
