Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s multi award-winning musical MARY POPPINS returns to its original West End home at the Prince Edward Theatre from 23 October 2019.
The magical story of the world’s favourite Nanny is triumphantly and spectacularly brought to the stage with dazzling choreography, incredible effects and unforgettable songs. Starring Zizi Strallen, returning to play the title role following great acclaim on the recent sell-out international tour, and Charlie Stemp as Bert, who recently gave an award-winning performance as Arthur Kipps in Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Half A Sixpence.
The stage production of MARY POPPINS is brilliantly adapted from the wonderful stories by PL Travers and the original film. It is co-created by Cameron Mackintosh and has a book by Oscar-winning screenwriter and Downton Abbey creator, Julian Fellowes. With a timeless score by Richard M Sherman and Robert B Sherman including the classic songs; Jolly Holiday, Step in Time, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Feed the Birds with new songs and additional music and lyrics, including Practically Perfect, by the Olivier award-winning British team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.
A most wonderful production of this Mary Poppins, full of energy and enjoyment! Very cleverly done.
Would highly recommend this show, family friendly with a great production & extremely good cast.

Really feel good show. Wish Mrs Banks had played Mary though. She had the better voice
Just brilliant. The best review I could give is it made me feel like 5 years old again. Cast where brilliant.
This show is a must The cast ,music , scenery was just incredible ! This is not just a show but an experience ! Don’t miss it ! I am going again
Three generations went to see the show and none of us were disappointed! Great singing, dancing and back drops and some magical jaw dropping moments!
Great seamless best show ever.
Words can not explain how good this show is, brilliant in every way. Different from the film version, but still captured the main story, Superb performance by all and particularly moving one by Petula Clark, outstanding.
Saw the show Sat 11 Jan (evening). Absolutely loved it. Very clever. Beautiful. Magnificently performed. Truly a joy. Well done to everyone involved in creating and delivering this. Thank you.
The show was brilliant
Great show with some breathtaking high wire stunts
the show was great couldnt fault it ...it was just a shame the seats werent a little higher it was hard to see some of the show cause of the man in front and I was aware if i moved people behind me would be blocked.... it was truly a great show and my 8 yr old first time in a theatre, couldnt keep still from excitement. At the end a man from feont row commented how lovely it was to hear her laughing so much and it made the show for him. Thought that wàs great
What a show, picture perfect in every way.
Just Fantastic! An excellent show!
This was the best theatrical performance I have ever seen, it was magical, colourful, just brilliant. I will be buying tickets to watch it again, my 6 year old daughter loved it too! Great family fun.
Absolutely brilliant. Fantastic cast, fantastic performances and the children were incredible. I would 100% recommend Mary Poppins to everyone, young, old and middle aged

Just need 3 words to describe this musical Brilliant Fantastic Magical
Excellent show. Mary Poppins was so well cast. Took me back to my childhood when I first watched it. Beautiful and creative sets. Totally enchanting.
Amazing show the sets were fantastic and the cast were brilliant loved the little nods to Julie Andrews and Emily Blunt. The flying and other effects were seamless.
Just simply brilliant
Excellent show, very enjoyable and lots of fun.
What a fantastic production! From the amazing sets to the fabulous costumes and talented cast, this is a brilliant show! My daughter loved every minute of it and her eyes were on stalks at the mind bending illusions! Thank you for making a little (and big) girls’ dreams come true.
Outstanding - recommend reading the books - would watch again!
Just loved it! It was pure entertainment. not a dull moment form beginning to end! The dancing was superb and of course the songs just 'perfect'! the stage set was just incredible.
The musical was great. I loved the special effects. The musical doesn’t completely follow the Mary Poppins story but liked the added twists. Deffo worth seeing!
The stage setting and layout of the sets were amazing. Mary’s carpet bag illusions, bringing large items out of a small bag, were brought to life faultlessly. There’s a whole feel god factor about this show that just makes you feel great. Some of the things you saw in the film that didn’t think you’d see on a stage were beautiful created in vivid colour. The finale of the show was spellbinding. Practically perfect I’m every way!!!
What a wonderful fun evening we had. Excellent!
I have seen Mary Poppins a number of times since 2004 and this new production was wonderful.
Brilliant enjoyed every minute
What a brilliant night out, a great cast, great songs, great dance routines with a few new musical numbers to boot. So get your tickets now SPIT SPOT.
Beautiful show full of colour, spectacle and some amazingly beautiful dancing. There are some wonderful moments but unfortunately due to one member of the audience thinking it was a panto and audience participation was required he spoilt the experience for many others which was a massive shame. The cast were brilliant and the energy and enthusiasm never died even as the curtain fell they continued to give it 100%. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ESPECIALLY BY MY WONDERFUL 6 YEAR OLD!
What an amazing show, every thing was great, such stars
I would recommend to go and see this show because it was a very good performance loved by all.
Got tix for this show for my 12 yo girl and she absolutely loved it. The production was excellent combining the movie with the stage and keeping all the great songs. The main players were all amazing. Our experience was slightly marred by a few members of the audience but others complained and the theatre moved them for the second half.
As one of the very few people who haven't seen the film, or even know the story, I went to the theatre with a 'blank canvas'! What a great evening I had, with a superb production, fabulous cast and orchestra. Those big dance numbers, the big songs, the magic, and the humour made for a brilliant evening! You gotta go! It's just such a wonderful evening!!
