This was essentially a two hander play with a couple of bit parts thrown in - and I have no idea why there was the final scene with the mother - but up until that point I had thoroughly enjoyed the show and the acting. Black humour and sardonic. As I said, couldn't see the point of the final scene, so obviously I was missing something, but an afternoon well spent!

The whole atmosphere and the set of the show really made it clear that Vaudeville hall is the heart of the west end. Seeing talented actors transform and act so naturally was amazing and inspires me as an actor . It was incredible how the actors interacted with the audience after the show as it seemed more down to earth unlike a concert or a normal show.

True West is a must see production. It suspends time with its captivating acting,cast and direction. Johnny Flynn’s performance was superbly unforgettable,as was Kit Harrington.

The acting was great but the script lacked depth. As if they tried to make it sophisticated but light at the same time however it was not a success. 4 us watched and we felt the same

The first half was relatively interesting; however, the second half was appalling - dreadful; enter the mother into the scene and everything lost it's meaning. It was a complete shambles. We think that the audience were only clapping with joy that it was finally over. Save your money, and see Everyone's Talking about Jamie! The mother in the play couldn't work out what accent she should have and was just lost in translation.

Both my friend and I were confused with the storyline. At times the audience laughed at some points in the performance and we did not understand if this was intentional. We were also left totally baffled with the ending and had to Google feedback after the show to try and find an explanation

Sam Shepard's plays are typically intense - often with a family focus- and True West is no different. Kit Harrington and Johnny Flynn provide perfect character fits as the brothers who have little in common whose relationship is always on the edge. A very compelling performance.

A very gripping play and excellent performances. The play builds momentum into the finale and the set was brilliant. Great to see Kit Harington in another role and on the stage, although he looked very different from Jon Snow which was disturbing!

I did not enjoy the play at all, one of those I wished I had left at the interval.I expected the play, to be witty and thought provoking, instead it was more like a slapstick farce.Very unbelievable and the excess of shouting was over the top. Felt sorry for the actors.

The first half of the play was definitely Johnny Flynn's. He was menacing and manipulative but Sam Shepherd had also given him a sense of humour. He bullied and dominated his younger brother who was trying to improve his life by keeping him on the straight and narrow. The second half was Kit's after the realisation that his education and knowledge meant very little in monetary terms or being recognised for his work.

Didn't know much about this when I booked, but keen to see Kit Harrington on stage - and I wasn't disappointed! Seething resentment and sibling envy permeates this very theatrical work, a portrait of a pretty dysfunctional family. Both the leads are well known for TV roles, but are totally transformed into believeable brooding American brothers. This also has its lighter moments fuelled by the increasingly bizzare behaviour. In summary excellent entertainment over Christmas!

I love this play and know Shepard's work reasonably well. This telling of True West falls short of delivering the powehouse of tension and humour implicit in this play-Stakes were low - humour sparse and tension barely existent. The actors are good but in this piece they are lost and only barely get what the play is about i.e A sibling relationship and that did not come across. I did not believe them. This play is extroadinary but this production is like watching a mildly amusing sitcom.

Having not seen the play before didn’t know what to expect. Loved the huge contrast between the personalities of the two brothers brilliantly played by Kit Harington and Johnny Flynn. As the wonderful and chaotic second act unfolded, the atmosphere changed to almost farce. A great evenings entertainment.

Afraid I can only use superlatives . A superb production of a great play. The lead actors were sensational, playing off each other with great skill. It was delightful to see their physicality change as the power play between them shifted. A great set, also, whose character changed along with the brothers. Both supporting actors were faultless. A fitting tribute to Sam Shephard.
