Miss Nightingale reviews
Fantastic!
One of the best shows ive seen in ages! I loved the intimate setting for this show! The whole cast were brilliant, and Miss Nightingale, sings like an Angel! The show has everything, it makes you laugh and cry in equal measure, and the songs are very funny! A must see show!
Comical and thought provoking. A good nights entertainment in a very pleasant setting.
Most disappointing. Theatre full of smoke from cooking which stank the whole place out. Singers were not too bad. Don’t think the storyline was good on this day and age. Just didn’t like it. Our party of 5 didn’t either and we left after the first act
Venue is a little er cheesy hadn't been to the Hipperdrome in over 30 years...but the show is fantastic happy feel good - you sat cabaret style at table with waiter service...we really enjoyed the evening and the stars were very impressive...
It was very good, So well performed ,the venue ,I hadn’t been in was excellent ,everyone was very friendly,A perfect afternoons entertainment, Thank you for all your hard work.
Really good performance by the whole crew, highly recommend this show, go and see it before it closes 6th May.
Great show - didn't really know what to expect, but the show was definitely above expectations. Very (multi-)talented cast.
Absolutely wonderful show. The level of talent on stage is just incredible. This was the second time I had seen the show and I enjoyed it even more than the first time. Well done to all. A great venue too, with tables and booths to have drinks at. The prices of the drinks were extremely reasonable for London. I highly recommend it.
We attended the Saturday 2pm Performance and on arrival at the Hippodrome were "transported" back to a war time night club. Very atmospheric and lucky enough to sitting very close to the stage. All the performers were great and very talented in their roles, including dancing, singing and playing a number of instruments. This is a very intimate theatre and the performance bought a tear to the eye through both sadness and laughter. In my opinion each performer deserves further recognition for the work spent developing their individual roles. One of the best events we have attended for some time.
We all really enjoyed this show the theatre was small and intimate which added to the experience. Only a cast of 6 but each played an amazing part. Story was great and songs well sung. My only gripe was our seats. I was sure I selected front row and even had seats 1,2 and 3 on my booking confirmation but when we arrived we were put in 55,56.57 at the back. I did query it with the host but he made silly excuses and said that is where the ticket agency put us. Seats I thought I had booked we’re taken but no compensation offered, complimentary drink would of been nice! To be honest the venue was small so we still saw everything but had to move from side to side on occasions due to people in front being taller. Actors even come around at the start and the interval dressed in the era of the show and interacted well with the audience which added to the experience. Drinks reasonable price for centre of London.
The show/cast/setting were all amazing. It wasnt what I expected, the writeups were a bit misleading but thouroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Would reccomend it.
Overall, the post-performance good-feel buzz was very high. Loved the singing and the musicianship, aided by the versatility and attractiveness of the cast. Some of the storyline was a bit cliched, but the talent of the performers more than compensated. I got far more out of the show than I was expecting. Always better that way.
A wonderfully hilarious and poignant show. From brilliant risque songs to sensitive echoes of a bygone age. The performers were excellent and very talented and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Only one criticism, it is not on long enough for many others to enjoy but that said I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting something different. A well deserved 5 stars.
What a show! I am in awe of the cast who through their incredible acting, singing and musical instrument playing told a compelling, funny and very moving story. Just when I thought they couldn't surprise me further, the dancing shoes came out. A truly wonderful and entertaining evening. A rare treat!
Thoroughly enjoyed this intriging and entertaining piece of musical theatre. Venue lent itself to intimacy of the evening and the talented cast were excellent in bringing a group of quirky and endearing characters to life.
Excellent new show brilliant cast all multi talented, just a shame only so few people in to see it! please support this wonderful show and The Hippodrome Casino such a wonderful venue!
Did not really know what to expect but the presentation of the show was excellent, the acting of the two leading actors being of an extremely high standard & incredible how they put over the then 'taboo' world of overdid the northern accent & her singing voice was The whole cast put 'there all' into entertaining the audience. If I could out any criticism over the show was that Miss N overdid the northern accent and her voice in her singing was raucous & could have done with a few less decibels!!! Overall my wife & I had a great evening, enhanced by it being our first time at this venue
Fabulous show excellent afternoon of entertainment 5 actors 1 actress brilliant show
The three of us thoroughly enjoyed the show. Brilliantly performed by a cast of multi-talented actors/musicians/writers.
This show was boring and clichéd. I fell asleep.
We throughly enjoyed this unexpected gem. The cast of six were unbelievable talented, dining, dancing, each able to play many instruments! Oh yeah and they could act too! Wanted to see Tina Turner, so pleased we saw this, Tina can wait... will recommend to many, we were right at the front in premium seats, I reckon a booth at the back of this small cosy theatre would be better..
Superb talented cast. And all the musical instruments they play - well done. Can’t wait for your next production.
I went to yesterday's matinee at the Theatre at Hippodrome Casino. The little theatre is upstairs at the back of the Casino. It reminded me of the old Marlene Dietrich films set in small nightclubs. There were little tables for four very close to the stage and there was an artificial smoke. It was set in WWII and was the story of a girl who wanted to be a singer, her manager and brother and covered homosexuality, black market, blitz - the songs were based on true stories. The cast were wonderful, the atmosphere very friendly. It was a unique experience and I hope to go again. It is on for another 3 weeks. During the interval the audience was handed a copy of Nightingale News which detailed the actual war stories
My friend and I were completely bowled over by the production - most especially the multi-talents of all those who were in the show. It was a very special evening’s entertainment.
Gem of a show. Really well written multi talented performers. Never a dull moment with serious and laughter running side by side. Have already recommended to friends. Say no more. Top marks to all involved
Really enjoyed the show. Great atmosphere. Very talented cast. Would recommend.
I really enjoyed Miss Nightingale. The actors, and especially the actress, were amazing and they all played musical instruments. I liked the costumes and the atmosphere very much amnd the venue was interesting. It was nice to watch the performance round a table with a cup of coffee or a cocktail. Well done everyone!
Really enjoyable show, lovely intimate theatre, some serious underling themes with some great hilarity. Very well presented with an incredibly talented cast, acting, dancing, singing, playing instruments all together. Great job!
Setting had great potential actors were excellent even the storyline was promising but the script and songs were poor and repetitive
Left halfway through it was that bad !!!
Brilliant and entertaining ..lovely venue great staff and well worth seeing.
Great. Love the huge talent you all have. Personally have no issue with the homosexual gay side. But would suggest to the " Head Dick " ( innuendos intended to have a parallel show which beats up Boy loves Girl aspect? All the songs can apply to either predeliction? Refer ' Night and Day , Cole Porter!! Broaden market!
Serious subjects intersected with some of the funniest songs we've ever heard. Cast are excellent and multi talented. You must go see it!
