The acting and singing were sublime. Very moving and surprisingly uplifting. The whole evening was magical and went by too quickly.
Top quality show, fabulous vocalists, acting and musicianship featuring some of Bobs Dylan's back catalogue delivered up in a renewed style and with max energy, all round pure class!
One word AMAZING
Really enjoyed performance but a bit disappointed that some of Bob Dylan's best known songs were not included and on the bill board it said Lay lady Lay was one of the songs featured but we didn't hear it. All singers were excellent. Story a bit depressing !
We found the story compelling and well told through acting and songs. The cast were multi-talented switching from singing and acting to playing instruments. Very enjoyable.
Absolutely brilliant Fabulous band singers and cast. Couldn’t take our eyes off the stage absolutely superb
The talent of the cast in this musical was surreal. The performance appeared flawless and their ability to sing, dance and play instruments was incredible.
Superb Never listened to Bob Dylan’s music before, the show made me download it. The performances were amazing and had so much depth.
Enjoyed it very much.
Brilliant. Such a wonderful soulful play full of emotion, perfectly matched with Bob Dylan's songs, performed by a truly talented cast.
We booked this because it mentioned Bob Dylan’s lyrics and music. Initially, we thought it might be about his life so we apprehensive when the play started. We were quickly won over by the amazing singing and the “take” on Dylan’s music. How clever to set the play before Dylan was born - it would have been far too difficult to set it in his time; the audience would have wanted to draw conclusions about him. We highly recommend this play but make sure you take plenty of tissues with you because your emotions will spill over before the end the show. Brilliant - I so much want to see it again. Elizabeth and Marianne were absolutely wonderful when they sang. Well done all of you. You’re brilliant.
A fantastic show with a stage full of multi talented cast . The songs and the singing were excellently delivered.
Brilliant performance from whole cast. Scenery changes seamless Loved the story telling and songs
Great show, well worth the trip south.
great acting and singing - songs well arranged and lyrics well chosen from Dylan's songbook to fit with the dramatic content and tone. l would have liked to see some connection with Dylan's early life other than Duluth . But overall a well structured and moving musical.
I knew the show had received really good reviews, but was blown away by atmospheric music and sets. Fab night
Great cast and storyline interspersed with Dylan classics with his evocative lyrics that compliment the story. Great music with a great mix of both moving moments and occasional fun!
Loved Elizabeth’s character and vocals - though wished whole songs sung as opposed to parts only .... especially forever young song. Overall all vocals excellent- 2nd half more exhilarating.
This show exceeded expectations! It was really enjoyable
Totally amazing, could have watched it again. Cast superb.
This is the second time that I have been to see this show and I am considering a third visit. A beautiful, moving piece of theatre with fantastic performances across the cast. Not necessarily a huge Bob Dylan fan but the interpretation of the songs intricately weaved through a moving story of a family struggling in Depression era mid west go the US is stunning. The vocal talents of the cast is incredibly moving and entirely captivating. If you get the chance then go and see this production, a really moving piece of musical theatre.
Heart wrenchingly brilliant.
One of the best plays I've seen in awhile. Great actors, singing, music, storyline. Very enjoyable!
I would recommend Girl from the North Country to musical lovers - it had a good story line and great to hear the Bob Dylan songs. A beautiful theatre with very helpful, pleasant staff.
The show was a delight from start to finish with some wonderful singing and acting
Great show with a wonderful cast the play worked on many levels and like all great Dylan songs told you everything you need too know about the world we live in and the people who inhabit it.
Great show in a beautiful theatre. Fab acting singing and dancing to the wonderful music of Bob Dylan.
If ever there was a diverse way to sing the music of Bob Dylan the cast of Girl From The North Country certainly proved there is. Amazing acting, amazing cast, amazing show - two hours of brilliance. All and Bob must be so very proud!
I enjoying every second. Totally exceeded my expectations.
Great entertainment - whether you are a Dylan fan or not. The characters’ back stories are woven together with harmonies from Dylan to create an absorbing show. Shirley Henderson is particularly good.
Lovely little theatre and an amazing show. Close to lots of other nice places to see.
This was a very good play on so many levels. Ciaran Hinds was imposing as Nick, he had a great stage presence. He portrayed a troubled man who was trying to hold it together but had a palpable vulernability about it. Shirley Henderson as Elizabeth provided a moving portrayal of someone living with dementia. She was a fragile character who knew no boundaries and my when she sang it was breathe taking....if ever they did another revival of 'Little Voice' she would be my first choice. These are two household names but the rest of the cast were equally as good. The interpretation of Bob Dylan's songs was surprising and beguiling. The musicians ever present on stage worked well within the set. A marvellous night out. Shame it's only on for another week
Excellent show, great music, great insight into Dylan’s lyrics.
Excellent show, great music, great insight into Dylan’s lyrics.
Great play great cast great entertainment.
Really enjoyed this played but found the story a tad confusing and at times difficult to follow. However the singing was superb, wonderful voices a joy to listen to.
Interesting performance loved all the integrated music on stage
Extremely powerful and emotionally charged; with first class acting and singing throughout. The play touched on so many important subjects and themes and dealt with them so eloquently.
incredible signing talent, wonderful music - a great night out
Highly emotive storyline entwined with great music. Really captured the privations and stresses caused by the depression and personal heartbreak but threaded with considerable humour too. Actors singing voices outstanding.
I'm a big Dylan fan and whilst the storyline was a bit clumsily merged with the Dylan songs, the arrangements of the songs and the performance of them was amazing.
Amazing. Will have to see it again.
A really special show with an outstanding cast. If you can get your hands on a ticket. Go! A really moving show with wit and style and a Bob Dylan repertoire song with passion. Outstanding!
Not a single wrong note or chord. Entrancing performances from all the cast, from the seasoned Shirley to newcomer Claudia all were exceptional.
The show was brilliant . We had a great time . the singing was really good .
Big Dylan fans - big disappointment- all the characters seemed trapped in a world of despair and hopelessness with so many narrative threads I couldn’t work out what was going on. Also found the depictions of mental illness unsettling and lacking heart. All might have been revealed after the interval but we had left
Excellent show. Songs music & singers were amazing!
