Vincent River
Written by Philip Ridley
Directed by Robert Chevara
Davey has seen something he can never forget. Anita has been forced to flee her home. Tonight, they meet for the first time... and their lives will change forever.
Philip Ridley's modern classic was a huge success when it premiered at the Hampstead Theatre in 2001, and became a West End smash in 2007.
Thrilling, heartbreaking and darkly humorous by turns, it is now seen as one of the most powerful explorations of hate crime - and society's need to crush 'difference' - ever written.

Moving portrayal of two people brought together by tragedy who find themselves while exploring their own inner turmoil. Excellently well performed in a minimal setting with the actors clearly relating well to each other and drawing the audience into their own world.

I was totally captivated by Anita and Davey for the entire 90 minutes. On such a small stage and only handful of props this play really boils down to the fantastic performance of the cast of two. Mesmerising. A real gem.

One of the best plays I’ve seen. Superbly acted, thoroughly gripping, moving, emotional and brilliantly written and directed. I thought the male lead was incredible. His acting was sublime and the interaction between him and the female lead was electric.

An absolute "Must" for all Philip Ridley fans . A very relevant play for today, tightly directed and terrifically acted. Newcomer Thomas Mahy as Davey was exceptional and a 'star' in the making ... DON'T miss it ! ...
