Everybody's Talking About Jamie tickets

Shane Richie stars as Hugo/Loco Chanelle from 28th January

A brand new musical based on the BBC Three documentary "Jamie: Drag Queen at 16" following real-life teenager Jamie Campbell, who wants to be a drag queen.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, a fearless, funny, and fabulous new musical sensation with catchy songs by Dan Gillespie Sells (lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling) and writer Tom MacRae, comes to the Apollo Theatre.

At sixteen years old, Jamie New lives on a council estate in Sheffield. Though Jamie doesn’t quite fit in and is terrified about the future, he knows one thing: Jamie is going to be a sensation.
Supported by friends and a brilliant, loving mum, Jamie struggles past prejudice and bullies to step out of the darkness and into the spotlight. The Observer calls this brand-new musical: “touching, funny, joyous.”

"This fizzing musical is a blast of fresh air, and what a joy to see a stageful of youngsters who look like swathes of modern Britain: young, poor, sassy, not to mention black, brown, white and, er, sparkly. For this is the story of a 16-year-old boy named Jamie New, with giraffe legs and a magnetic smile, whose career adviser at his rough school in Sheffield has a message."

"Feelgood musical that could become a cult classic... McCrea doesn’t have quite the showstopping voice you’d hope for in the lead, but he has bags of charisma, and only the most stony of hearted would fail to wish his character the happy – if somewhat confectedly feel-good – conclusion that he’s given."

Wasn't sure what to expect but this was amazing! Based on a true story portraying Jamie's dream to become a drag artist the show touches every emotion. The cast were fantastic and the music performed perfectly. A real moral in the story which had us talking about it on the journey home. Would highly recommend this show.

Bloody brilliant! All the cast were superb- especially loved Jamie’s mum, preeeti, Shane Ritchie and of course the brilliant Layton- knew he would be superb having seen him before in hairspray. What a total star and such a gorgeous voice. Made me laugh and cry!

Full of energy, emotional, and not fallen the trap of being cheesy. Great performances.
