Bat Out of Hell
Bat Out of Hell
Jim Steinman’s BAT OUT OF HELL - THE MUSICAL makes its world première at the iconic London Coliseum from June 2017!
Originally written as a musical, BAT OUT OF HELL went on to become one of the most iconic and successful albums of all time. 40 years later, Jim Steinman’s tale of love, rebellion and rock’n’roll finally explodes onto stage in a musical critics are calling ‘THE SHOW TO SEE IN 2017’ (Daily Telegraph, Mail on Sunday, Manchester Evening News).
With epic book, music and lyrics by Jim Steinman, and a multi award-winning creative team from the world of Theatre, Opera, Music and Film, this brand new musical plays the London Coliseum from 5 June 2017 for a strictly limited season!
What is Bat Out Of Hell about?
This stunning rock musical tells the story of the forever-young Strat and his out-of-control gang, The Lost. In a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, The Lost wander the streets under the rule of the tyrant Falco. Theirs is a bleak existence, until Strat falls for Falco’s daughter Raven, which is when love and rebellion starts to take root.
Explosive and full of belting tracks, Bat Out of Hell is a full-throttle ride towards the rock and roll dream. Featuring 17 of Meat Loaf’s greatest hits, including ‘I’d Do Anything for Love’, ‘You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth’ and, of course, ‘Bat Out of Hell’, and directed by award-winner Jay Scheib, this pulsating new musical is not to be missed.

The most sensational night of musical theatre. Best show ever! The songs, voices, special effects, lighting, set design - just about everything worked. The show has moved to Toronto, but get a ticket when it returns to London in 2018. I took friends - who were not particularly fans of Meat Loaf's music -but they all admitted it was one of the best shows they had ever seen!

The night was most enjoyable. The guys singing the songs were as if Meat Loaf was there himself - the best of compliments!

I don't do musicals but this is no ordinary musical. Everyone from Strat (Andrew Polec) ,who can out-sing Mr Loaf himself, and the other lead performers, to the orchestra and set designers were amazing. Saw it in July and lucky enough to be back for the final London performance. Three hours of fantastic entertainment. Thank you Jim Steinman.

A new show to London with massive dreams to fill Bat out of hell has hit the London stage with tons of energy, and a fantastic cast. It does have a Romeo and Juliet feel to it between Strat and Raven with a rock twist and a Peter pan plot. This musical does feel like it has got a hint of another fantastic musical Rent. There is a lot going on in anyone song which is great as the more times you see it the more you will notice different things which keeps it exciting everytime you see it. I've no doubt that this musical will get better with time and can't wait to see how it wil progress in the years to come.

We were attending for second time. Spoke to many there who were on their 7th, 8th visit. Fantastic show - all the artists were amazing. Special mention to the male and female leads but also the "mum and dad". Sensational! Will definitely be returning next year.

Knowing the songs meant it was an enjoyable night out. Very loud and at times I put my fingers in my ears. Story a little contrived with elements of Peter Pan. Good but not a classic.

Great songs to sing along too. Sets were fantastic in a lovely theatre. Story line slightly confusing but we went there for the music and ambience.

Amazing show. This was my second time and it was interesting to see the changes made - all good in my view. It is not often I see a show with many of the wider cast performing so strongly and where the official lead roles actually step back at multiple points to allow others to shine. I will definitely be back in 2018.

I thought the first time I saw this musical it was amazing, but being there on the last night was even better. The cast had so much energy, you cannot allow yourself to sit still for one second, you have to move with the amazing music. It is such a spectacular show, i cant wait till it returns to London

Of course all the songs are just fabulous, it goes without saying. It's impossible not to sing along with them! However the pure energy of the performers, who incidentally all have powerful voices, the wonderful dance routines, the incredibly talented orchestra and the dramatic stage set all go to make up an amazing performance. Can't wait for it to come back to London again.

An excellent powerhouse of pace and precision and clear definition. A full house on the last performance before Toronto; back again next year. Blasted out your seats ,like being shot out of the circus cannon. A great feel good factor all round. Empty battery only gave me 2 snaps. Huge and long richly deserved standing ovation.

What can i say except wow, from start to finish it was mesmerising. The standard of the singing was out of this world. I was singing along to all the songs. The story was easy to follow. The stages, lighting, special effects were amazing. The music was done really well and i am sure Jim Steinman was proud of how it all turned out. It is a must show and the best musical i have ever seen

Have long been a fan of Jim Steinman and Meatloaf so this was an obvious choice for me, and it excelled my expectations. However, I also took my teenage son along not quite sure of what he'd make of it, but he was equally blown away by the power of the music and the quality of the cast who are second to none in the musicals delivery. The great visual effects just added to an already superb show.

A lively vibrant performance with strong voices and performance, especially the lead male who is one of the few who can carry off such iconic melodies

Sold out last night. Fabulous atmosphere with a good spread of ages. Thin plotline (think We will rock you) but who cares, some good craic but more importantly brilliant performance by the pit band and of course the cast. Principal singers were well on form. Top notch!

Good show, although choreography was a little weak in places. The female lead seemed to struggle to know what to do with herself! Great to be able to sing a long to most of the songs.

Pat is my wife , she works and works totally mad ,so getting her to come in to a fantastic musical in London is getting her out of hell ! The stage setting is so clever must have cost a Bob or two ! But it is just how every person that sings , sing the song that suits their own voice , especially the lead singer , and I have seen Two chaps both very excellent!!

This is the 3rd time here with this show and each visit has been fabulous. The venue is great and it seems unhurried and not terribly crowded, no real ques and all the staff are nice and friendly. The show is stunning and the last night was brilliant, singing, dancing, music, effects, absolutely stunning. If you like this type of music or even if you dont it is so worth a trip when it returns in 2018.

Very good. Some very good special effects, not expected. The only thing that marred it for us was the fact that the people sitting next to us had been shown to the wrong row and accused us of being in the wrong seats ! She said that we did not have proper tickets as ours were printed at home and she had the proper tickets !! Thankfully someone else pointed out to them that they were in the wrong seats, wrong row !! After settling after that experience, I enjoyed the show. Thank you

How lucky to see this fabulous show for the second time, and on the closing night. The energy was electric, and the show and cast as brilliant as before. Good luck on the Toronto tour, and delighted you'll be back in London in 2018, hoping it will be with the same cast.
