Million Dollar Quartet
Million Dollar Quartet
Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.
This Christmas, see a musical inspired by the recording session that brought together these rock 'n' roll grandees for the first and only time.
On December 4, 1956, these four star musicians gathered at Sun Records in Memphis, the studios of legendary record producer Sam Phillips, for what would be one of the greatest jam sessions ever. Martin Kemp joins the cast as legendary record producer Sam Phillips, the man who brought the four recording stars together to create music history. Martin rose to fame as the bassist in one of Britain's best-loved bands, Spandau Ballet, with over 25 million records sold worldwide, and a string of number one hits.
No stranger to the screen, Martin became a household favourite playing loveable rogue Steve Owen in Eastenders, for which he won a number of awards. Martin's numerous TV and film credits include The Krays, Sugar Town, Back in Business, and Love Lies Bleeding, as well as many series of one-off dramas for ITV. Million Dollar Quartet brings the night to life, featuring a score of rock hits including 'Blue Suede Shoes', 'Fever', 'That's All Right', 'Sixteen Tons', 'Great Balls of Fire', 'Walk the Line', 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On', 'Who Do You Love?', 'Matchbox', 'Folsom Prison Blues', 'Hound Dog' and many more.
Discover the true story of the night that became a defining moment of rock 'n' roll history!

Had a fantastic time and would definitely go again. The guys sang so well and the story line was well played out. Tapped our feet the whole way through and even had a dance at the end of the show. Well worth a visit and highly recommend if you love Rock n Roll.

Did not enjoy the show , did not make me fell I was brought back in time and was in sun studios . Was in sun studios in Memphis and the show was nothing like the real thing . The dress code was nothing like 1956 . Was not worth the price we paid .

Good show with lots of energy for a 3pm show. The Elvis character rather subdued & everyone overshadowed by the brilliance of the JLL performance. The RFH December event magazine VERY misleading as the front cover showed a still from the original USA cast London production, (I did not see the original as the backset of wall of light was not safe). This production is very good and the set is akin to the real Sun Studios, enjoy!

Having been to Sun Studio's and seen the original photo and stood on hallowed ground the show had a lot to live up to. IT DID NOT LET US DOWN. AS FOR THE ADHOC SESSION AFTER THE SHOW IT WILL BE LONG REMEMBERED BY THOSE THERE. From an old ELVIS fan . Jerry lee lewis took piano to a new level .

Not necessarily a fan of the four artists featured before but looking them up on iTunes now (obviously not elvis!). Really good cast of talented musicians. Would have liked to have danced more but the people around me were rooted to their seats.

Although the story line is a bit thin, the actual performances are top notch. Great musicianship and convincing portrayals of the four superstars & Sam Phillips.

We really really enjoyed this show. One of the very best shows we have had the pleasure of seeing. The show built and built to a great ending with everyone on their feet dancing. The smile on Martin Kemps face at the closing said it all. A really great show and we plan to go to the touring show.

Together with some friends we had visited Memphis earlier in the year. We spent time at Sun Studios and the Graceland. The guide at Sun Studios told us all about the Million Dollar Quartet indeed the famous photo was everywhere The show captured the atmosphere of the little studio brilliantly and gave a glimpse of the stories behind each of the four. The music was absolutely brilliant and the entire audience were up and dancing at the end A great show and one I would reccomend for everybody, especially music lovers. Russ Ruth Gary and Jenny

Did not enjoy the show , did not stay until the end , thought the sound was nothing like who they were supposed to be , the dress was nothing like what would have been worn in 1956 . There was nothing about it that would transform you back in time and make you believe you were there. It was the worst show I was ever at not worth the money my Husband and I paid .

What a show! A rather weak storyline was totally outshone by a group of phenomenal performers. If you thought Elvis was dead, think again. And Jerry Lee Lewis never hit the ivories like his reincarnation did. Outstanding!!!

Cleverly woven story line around the four stars - Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis. Every one played with consummate skill by the cast - all LIVE. Music all the way - just not long enough. Having heard so much about Blue Suede Shoes it would've been great to hear it though. I could've danced all night - shame it was in an all seater theatre. Rock on guys (and gal) - you were all great.

I was delighted to hear many of the songs made famous by these four superstars from my youth. The actors were such extremely talented musicians and singers that I felt I got more than the worth of my money from that alone. Like most of the audience, I was dancing in my seat. As if that were not enough, I learned quite a bit about the history of rock and roll, and the pioneering role played in it by Sun Records owner Sam Philips. That was a bonus for me! It was one of the most enjoyable shows I have seen over the last ten years that I have been visiting London.

Started a little slowly and it would have been nice to have heard more of the songs in the first half (instead of just snippets). But the quality of the performances was excellent, all captured the essence of their musical icon. The finale was fantastic, ended the evening on a real high.
