This November London’s National Theatre welcomes a brand new musical inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
Composed by Daman Albarn and with a book by Moira Buffini, wonder.land tells the story of twelve-year-old Aly who enters an online world to escape her unhappy life. Online, Aly becomes Alice and courageously takes charge, yet the people she meets, such as the terrifying Queen of Hearts, the perplexing Dum and Dee and the grinning Cheshire Cat, appear oddly familiar. Try as she might, Aly can’t seem to keep real life out of wonder.land.
Featuring the design team behind War Horse, lighting by Paul Constable, projections by 59 Productions and design by Rae Smith, wonder.land is a visually dazzling production that revels in the challenge of making things ‘curiouser and curiouser’. A giant green screen, astonishing dance numbers and a cast of extraordinary characters make this ambitious and modern production a hugely satisfying re-telling of Carroll’s masterpiece.
Dynamic, thoughtful and technologically masterful, wonder.land has to be seen to be believed. Book your wonder.land tickets today.
